That is my absolute biggest issue with sim racing. Getting taken out by dive bombers and then they drive away untouched.
That incident with lap car was misunderstanding his move in that corner. He missed apex and was slow so I was thinking he is letting me throw and I can go with normal speed and normal line. I read it wrong but i dont think it was my mistake.. Crash with you was something different.I made a mistake and lost rear grip.... I am sorry. I hope next thime when we meet on track it will be like on BTCC.

@tomaskutka how we respond to mistakes, both ours and others, tells the world a lot about us. Respect.
We’ve all made that same type of mistake overtaking backmarkers. The pass on Dave never had a chance of working without Dave taking avoiding action, though! Regardless, I’m just happy to see a sim racer admit their mistakes and apologize. It’s rare even in league racing when you’re up against the same opponents week after week.
Love to see my hometown track making a showing!!!! Driven it many times so much fun.
That was a shame Dave as you were doing well.
Unfortunately when people start to get frustrated their decision making goes out of the window.
I hate it when people drive like others don't matter and just do stupid moves.
It spoils good racing.

Just had to clean my glasses Dave driving a open wheeler. Cracking race though. Shame about the ending
been doing this has been great and the radical races, i started on rf2 but been off it for over a year so this latest update beta has been a great update
My advice is to setup auto clutch with f11. You still can use the clutch at your wild but the car doesn't stall in those situations.
Good race with bad luck. I didnt found this kind of elements still, looks like people are managing his driving better in rf2 and I dont know why, but this is good. In the other hand we are racing cars and some accidents will happen 🤷♂️. Cheers
The trick with backmarkers is to make your presence noticeable without forcing a way past, most lapped drivers I met simply gave the way and life goes on. Also, I had problems too with drivers crashing at that hairpin on sector 3 and the aftermath goes in your direction. That's not a place to barge the way for position.
Most of the time things are pretty respectful on Race Control, but frustration from certain drivers ruins things, especially in splits with tight gaps across the field. Race Control revived rFactor 2 for me as it works well most of the time.

The car combo's in the rookies are pretty great, Radical's and open wheelers are awesome, the BMW M2 is probably my least favourite as I find it a tail slidey boat. But can't wait to see you get the silver licence, the Porsche Cup at Monza this week was a sweet combo!

@thougui258 I didn't like the ffb in rfactor 2 when I decided to play it again. I don't know if this will work for you, but what did was turn the ffb down to 65 and the smooth to 12 in the Tatuus.......the Radical to 9 I believe I'll have to when do another race.

Lol i was in this race too, started p9 and sent into oblivion around the esses lap 1. Those guys just never look at their mirrors

ive done so much googling and i cat figure it out, how do you have the race engineer voice telling you where people are and time left and such?

Unfortunate Dave but I thought your setup looked a bit loose at the front. I'm no expert by any means but wonder if a slightly softer front arb or more front downforce would have helped?

There are always people who thinks they have to pass at all costs and if they don't manage to get through on the last lap they do videogame things like this, unfortunately this is what separates simracing from real racing

Will say the rookie class is hit and miss the silver class in rf2 is a hell of alot better. 25 cars at monza and not 1 t1 incident. Couldnt say that in iracing

Dave, I enjoy your vids for down to earth reviews and driving. But in this race I have say, what are you doing getting into a rookie race? Rookies are learning the craft and will make mistakes. That's why there are rookie races. For you ,a experienced sim driver, to enter this race and then complain about how the rookies messed up your race is just wrong. I have driven real track cars in rookie groups that had some experienced drivers in the group who then filed complaints about rookies not moving out of there way because they are faster. My final comment is get the hell out of rookie races and into races with your experience level.
Rfactor2 feels like complete hot trash to me now. Cars either have too much ffb or none at all. Then you touch a kerb and it tries to rip your arms off... The handling feelings like the cars are floating on banan peels from Mario Kart. I remember Rfactor2 feeling much netter before. Maybe its just the poor choice of cars for rookie races but I am not finding any enjoyment in it.
I think people underestimate how different those rookie cars are. The M2 has comparably soft suspension, so FFB won't feel as heavy under load like in stiffer OW cars like the Tattuus. The Radical wich is kind of a small entry level prototype isn't as violent as the Tattuus but will still feel pretty violent if you hit a curb. You can work a bit with smoothing and the min force setting to smoothen things out a bit. And btw, if FFB loosens up during cornering or braking it's a good sign that you are loosing grip or locking up. In the M2 for example you have to ease up the brakes once FFB starts to feel numb in the braking zone and you will feel the grip and load in FFB coming back. Once it starts to rattle it's a sign of ABS kicking in and you usualy understeer off the road at that point. And don't forget to activate the TC in the M2. It makes quite a big difference to tame the tail. ;)
