One piece is really good, the only reason why people hate on it is because it's longer, characters look weirder, and the pacing is a bit slower than most shonen, but it's definitely worth watching/reading(I'm not much of a manga reader)

    • @neogamest123logic2

You know I'll tell you why.
It has over 1,050 episodes and they still haven't found the one piece.
This series is as much of a waste of time as Pokémon which currently has 1,246 episodes.
The One Piece is the driving goal of Monkey D. Luffy and his crew, as well as that of multiple other pirates, who all seek to claim the treasure in order to become the next Pirate King, following Roger's dying words at his execution.
One piece is similar to Dragon Ball with it's title naming convention.
Both use their MacGuffin as the series goal.
One piece is Dragon Ball yet done worst.
Just imagine if the quest for the magical balls never completely took off for 1,000 episodes would you stick around?
One piece does everything it can to distract, deviate, and prolong getting to the goal post of the story which is just terrible.
The final straw for me was when they were offered the direction to the one piece and decline it.
They're not pirate on a treasure hunt f this shit I'm out.

one piece's story is simply unmatched, it so intricately built and so organized and easy to understand even though the story is so long. the world is dynamic, everything a character does has an impact on the whole world, so unlike other animes where it laser focuses on a couple of characters. yes the art can be goofy sometimes, but that is part of its charm. its iconic.

I got to a point where I couldn't watch week to week, because the pace sadly gets super slow in the Anime (given they used to adapt 2-3 chapters an episode, and when they caught up they only had one chapter to work with each episode) so what I did was save up a years worth and once a year (on my birthday as a treat) I binge it all over a week or so. The funny thing about the length of One Piece is that it is simultaneously a huge barrier to entry, and also one of the best things about it. I put it off for nearly a decade because of the length, but now that I'm caught up, I wish it were longer. From the outside looking in, thaat's just too much to consume, but once you immerse yourself in the world, you come to realise that there is endless potential to the world Oda has built. I usually recommend people to watch the first 45 episodes and see how they feel about it. While the show does get better than that, most of the core elements that make One Piece great have been displayed by then. If you don't feel anything after the first 45 episodes, it probably won't be the show for you.

One Piece is in my personal opinion the best story ever told. The way Oda builds a connection between the viewer and each charecter, the way he leaves small hints and sittuations that are to be explained in a incredible way later down the story, the way he made each charecter unique, relatable and appealing in some sort of way is making it a incredible experiance anyone should experiance in their life time. Oda and the people that he works with truly created a whole new world with charecters inspired from our history & certain events & charecters throug it. I can go on but gonna stop here in case you decide to dive in the One Piece experiance and find out and experiance all this things one your own.

A solution to this is watching 'one pace' which is one piece but they cut out all the filler and make it have better pacing, it also the reduces the amount of episodes you have to watch. The best way to digest one piece is the manga which has 1067 chapters. it seems like alot but each chapter is only 28 pages, making quite easy to read a few a day.

I've seen many small reaction channels that decided to commit to watching One Piece, who gained massive amounts of followers because of that. RT TV is a good example. The thing is, there are SO MANY One Piece fans out there, and there are only a handful of reactors that were willing to commit to react to it, so when they find another good reaction channel that is watching One Piece, the word is spread, and we all come to enjoy the journey again with new fans. I've probably watched at least 20 different reactors go through One Piece, and it is something I'll never tire of doing.

4 episodes a day, 4 days a week and you'll hit a good flow. Catching up is just the consequence of starting.
Why you should consider reading it first:
After watching this show 2-3 episodes a day, 5 days a week. Filler included, spoilers avoided, and rewatching a few episodes and I caught up in a year. Then you start to realize a few things. There are circumstances where they don't produce an episode a few weeks out of the year. By that time you'll be have long, endless, mind blowing and friendship building conversations with the rest of us. By then you'll realize that everyone you're speaking to has to hold back from sharing certain bits of information. You can ask every question you'd like, but when you care this deeply about a story, getting certain experiences spoiled for you makes it feel like that journey you took feel like kid's play. Suddenly, that realization that you've been whispering in your mind stands up and shouts from your own mouth,
    "I should have read it!"
Why you should consider watching it first:
Gives us OP junkies your first takes and reactions to things we've seen. The thing about being caught up is watching how your questions get answer, change, disappear, inspire new questions. It's brought me joy watching others have a particular take on something, someone or somewhere that I had. I especially love when people react in ways I didn't.
    Enjoy your journey
    peace and love

@8:24 your logic dosn't make sence, the fact is that one piece aired around 1998-99 and is selling more the superman and batman thats been around since like the 40's just shows how impressive one piece is, and it has currently surpassed batman in lifetime sales.

Just so you know, there are a number of movies in the series that are actually just recaps/retellings of the earlier arcs in the anime. You sacrifice some of the storytelling details, but it's one way to consider, to help you catch up a bit.

For One Piece anime when you reach around episode 24-25 you essentially wont be able to stop watching and binging because how captivating it is. For manga its similar and tbh most reactors are like reading? Watching the anime would be faster but no. Reading the series would take a hell lot less time than watching it for sure and similar to anime when you start reading it you cant stop until you finish whatever arc you are reading as story just keeps getting better. Thats also another strong point of One Piece. You will see good stuff and just wonder how the fuck it gets better and it will get better.

With one piece… it’s like a relationship… you may get along or May not get along… it’s like… if you put in time… take the time to truly enjoy the other person regardless of first impressions… the merits start showing… but you have to be patient for that… as an example my sister didn’t like the animation… I told her to be patient and watch it for the story… if you aren’t hooked after the Arlong Arc… this isn’t the show for you, but that’s about 50 episodes in… if you have ADHD or don’t have the patience… give up now… but if you do have the patience… be ready for a story of friendship and adventure.

I still remember what made me like and watch One Piece (I once said it was not good without watching it from the start only cut eps on tv). I got into Luffy when I watched ep 6 on tv. (I didn't know what ep it was when aired) I just decided to watch it since Naruto was aired at the same time in other network and I don't actually like Naruto back then so since I don't have other option, I just decided to watch it. Then mindblown. It touched my heart so much. Chouchou everyone!

If your only concern is One Piece's length, then just get into it. I started watching the One Piece Anime in 2021 and finished the Anime a year later. After that i read the manga. And i speak for every One Piece fan when i say: These 1069 Episodes of Anime or the 1088 Chapters of Manga are too short for anyone who finished it. I love One Piece and I still get excited every time a new Manga chapter releases. Once you start and you like it, you wont stop until youre finished.

  • @Gopal__S

The live action is only covering the first 60 episodes of one piece which is the first saga covering how he recruits the original 4 other members into his crew before entering the grand line sea which is the part of the world the rest of the story takes place. It's doing so in 8 long episodes. One piece can sometimes be pretty slow paced so I think it's definitely possible to cover everything important in that amount of time and will probs be good pacing. Would definitely recommend starting the anime even if you plan to watch the live action because even if the live action does amazing and gets renewed, it will most likely never get to the current stuff.

One piece is divided into arcs. Each arc have their own journey, their own story. It won't felt long because you will feel like you're finishing a series once an arc ended.
The live action is based on the first 5 Arc. And if you wanna check it but scared of how long it is, I recommended "One Piece: Episode of East Blue", it's a movie special remake of the first 5 Arc. And it's only a 90 minutes long.

the problem with people who wants to start one piece is they already thinking about "catching up" or how to finish 1000++ episodes / chapters
one piece is the type of anime/manga where you follow your own pace, dont rush it, it has soo much information / foreshadowing / plot twist
because when you "caught up" you dont want one piece to end and wish they have more episodes/chapters
u can skip the fillers, if you think its too lengthy

Watch one piece until the end of the Arlong Park arc (where the story really starts to gain steam). By the end of Arlong Park, you'll be a part of the Straw hat grand fleet, we all are.
Earlier one piece is fun, but once you start hitting the arc above it just goes from good to beyond great.

What i wanted to add, during the last couple of years we went from a Revolution Type of Story (Strawhats topple a Dictator and reinstall the rightfull King again) over a smallish break to a classical save the Princess Story with a Dark Twisted Disney feeling to now where it is heavily inspired by classical Samurai Stories
