Thank you for showing the lockers and the beautiful view points! We arrive in Zurich and just want to spend the day there, without lugging around our luggage!
This would be a perfect itinerary to spend with my 6 hours layover in Zurich in October, on my birthday. Too bad that I can't stay a much longer time. Thank you for this awesome vlog! Cheers!
@FollowerOFtheNAZARENE I did exactly the same as most of the things recommended in this vlog. Zurich is very walkable and accessible from the airport. You can do a lot of things in 5 hours to explore the city. Enjoy your trip!
Really enjoy your channel. I just came back from Switzerland 2 weeks ago. Wow! I can’t believe it’s been 2 weeks already. Spent my week in Zurich and traveled by train to places like Geneve, Luzern, Lauterbrunnen, Vevey, Bern, and some other small towns. Went to Jungfraujoch, Lindt Home of Chocolate, and also to the Chaplin residence / museum. While in Zurich I actually went to many of the places you mention here (though not into too many shops). One of my favorite things was just grabbing some local food and sitting along the banks of Lake Zurich for dinner at 9pm, while feeding the ducks and swans. What a beautiful country.
This is great video. Thanks so much. I will be in Zurich late November for a vacation and was wondering what to do, during spare time in the evenings and this will be very helpful
There is a train station at Zurich Airport with trains leaving every 15 mnutes or so to Zurich HB (main station). It's just an 11-minute train ride to put you in the heart of Zurich.
Lovely. I wish you could do a video of what to do in the evening. My flight arrives at 20:00 and most of the shops will be closed apparently. Also the airport trains stop running at midnight so I wonder what is there to enjoy on a summer evening for a few hours???
Thanks Kevin--That's a great idea. The business center of Zurich gets kind of quiet in the evening. But we could point out areas that have more to offer. We do most of these location videos in the summer, and would love to add that to our production schedule.
Two places that I definitely want to visit if I ever come to Switzerland is Zurich and Conny Land. Hoping I’d be able to meet Dunja Bitar in person while in Zurich. 😍 I might be out of her league, but a guy can dream, huh? 😂
Everything suggested in the video would just about fill a 5 hour layover once you leave the airport and return in time for security and check in. If you have some extra time do some Bahnhofstrasse shopping, visit a few of the premier chocolatiers, or go to the National Museum. It's all within easy walking distance from Zurich main station.
@@Alpenwild thanks so much 💓💓💓. Another person from Switzerland warned me that they had train problems there in the past week? Is that true? We arrive from San Francisco at 9am and our flight to Phuket is at 2pm...so we think that's enough time.. As long as the trains are not out of service 😊
@@sjsuguy22 I'm not aware of any train problems, especially between Zurich Airport and Zurich HB (main train station). There are trains every few minutes and it's an 11-minute trip. Zurich is a great walking city. Enjoy your stopover.
@@ramonlovo6148 In Zurich, we recommend the Hotel St. Gotthard and the Hotel Townhouse which are both very close to the train station and both very nice. The Hotel Townhouse is a smaller 3-star boutique hotel and the Hotel St. Gotthard is a 4-star hotel with air conditioning. Since we made this video, a new attraction in Zurich has opened near Zurich called the "Lindt Home of Chocolate". It's a 10-minute bus ride from downtown and has a 9-meter tall chocolate fountain, a great tour, and taste-testing throughout.
I love your video! Thank you! I'm from NYC/NJ area and I will have 3 hours in Zurich this spring---first time in your beautiful country! Will I have enough time to walk from Zurich HB to Fraumunster, Grossmunster and back? I would love to try Hitl but I'm afraid I might need to go back to the airport sooner.
If you had three solid hours, and started from Zurich HB (Main train station) you could walk down Bahnhofstrasse, up to Lindenhof Park, on to Fraumuster (step inside to see the Marc Chagall windows) across the bridge to the Grossmunster (you could even climb the bell tower) and return to Zurich HB, either on foot or by tram. If you move quickly, you might even have time to pop into a chocolate shop. Zurich is very compact and walkable. Enjoy your trip to Zurich.
Thank you for mentioning that vegetarian restaurant while going for foreign country tours i always worried about food as i'm vegetarian it is really difficuilt for me to find vegetarian food Thanks a lot again god bless you🤞🙏🏻
Great video. Are there walking tours available (~1-2 hours in length) that people can join (not prebooked), like one might find in other European cities? just to see the highlights and get a lay of the land. Thx
Yes, there are guided walking tours of the old city, Free Walking tours, and self-guided walking tours. In less than two hours you can do a great loop walk, starting at the main station (Zurich HB) walk through the old town, across the river, to the Munster, and back to the station. A map and suggestions are available at the tourism office in the main station.
On a 21-hour layover, I would suggest staying close to Zurich. Many ski resorts don't open until late December. But I and around Zurich you'll find Christmas markets and many holiday festivities.
The largest indoor market is at the Zurich main train station. Others are nearby or easily reachable by a 15-min walk or a short tram ride. @@hannaliza2221
