Matthew 11.25-30 - Rest, We Want Rest

Grit, mental toughness, self-sufficiency - these are all seen as incredibly useful, positive things for our life. Different things are thrown at us all the time and the people with grit seem to handle it. We aspire to that because, if we are honest, a lot of things affect us.
Well, Jesus has a message that goes against our self-sufficient culture. You cannot be spiritually self-sufficient. You can have the most intellect in the world, but you can't reason your way to God. You can be the strongest person to ever live, but you can't carry the burden of sin on your shoulders. It is impossible. You need someone to carry it for you.
Jesus carried that weight. Not only that, Jesus invites you to cast all your burdens on him - to trust in him for salvation, preservation, and grace. And Jesus always delivers!
