God Established Government - For Your Good
What is the role of the governing authorities according to the Bible. The Apostle Paul, in Romans 13:1-7, reminds us that all authority is established by God. Authorities are not only meant to maintain law and order but also to promote the well-being of society. When they succeed in fulfilling this divine purpose - providing peace, safety, and justice - we should give thanks to God for the blessings that good governance brings. They are God's servants, working to uphold what is right.
However, our world is far from perfect. Even in Paul's time, Christians faced brutal persecution from the Roman Empire, yet Paul still encouraged respect, honor, and submission to those in authority. This may seem difficult when authorities fall short of their God-given duties, but the call to respect them as God's servants remains. We are also called to respectfully encourage our leaders to govern wisely and in accordance with justice.
Finally, this devotion calls us to action. We are encouraged to give thanks when authorities govern well, to offer respectful correction when they fall short, and to continually pray for their wisdom. Regardless of political outcomes, God remains sovereign over all nations and governments, guiding history toward his purposes. Let us trust in his ultimate plan and pray for our authorities.

1 Corinthians 9:7-12,19-23 - Forgoing for the Gospel

If you have the right and if you have the freedom, why wouldn't you use it? That's an interesting question to ask. It seems sensible to use the rights and enjoy the freedoms given to us. But is there a situation where it would be wise to NOT use those rights and freedoms? The Apostle Paul says, "Yes!" If foregoing the use of your rights and freedoms allows other people to hear the gospel messag...

During an election year, you will hear a lot of promises. Perhaps some of these promises are made with the best of intentions, perhaps other promises are made because they know it is what people want to hear. Either way, the picture of a better future has been laid before the people every election year. However, we find that no matter how talented a presidential candidate may be, they will not ...
Genesis 2:18-24 - God Provides For You When You Are Alone

God cares about your companionship. He wants you to not experience loneliness. What a beautiful thing to know about God! From the very beginning, he made that clear. When he created Adam, he said that it was not a good thing for man to be alone. And after he created Eve, Adam responded in incredible thankfulness. This account is the last account we have of perfection. After this, sin entered in...

"Idol" - that's a word that you'll here from the Bible and in church from time to time, but what does it mean? When we think of "idols," we tend to think about images made out of wood or stone that people treated as if they were gods. But an idol, is more than just a constructed image. An idol can be anything that takes the #1 spot in your heart. God wants that spot, but if you supplant God wit...

God Is In Control (even in an election year)

When you look at what is going on in the world around you, it is easy to doubt God's control. Wars, unrest, and general anger cause us to worry about what the future holds. However, consider this: Jesus said this would be the case. In Matthew 24:1-35, Jesus speaks about the signs of the end times - wars, rumors of wars, persecution, hatred toward believers, etc. The chaos is exactly what Jesus ...

The Danger of Greed

God cares deeply about how his Word is used. His Word is powerful, that is clear. Along with the power of the Holy Spirit, it creates faith. It convicts hearts with the law and comforts hearts with the gospel. It is also clear that sinful people have used God’s powerful Word for self-serving purposes - whether that is for vanity or wealth. The story of Elisha, Naaman, and Gehazi from 2 Kings 5 ...

Is it wrong to have ambition? Is it wrong to want to be great? The disciples were arguing on the road to Capernaum about who was the greatest and Jesus asked them about it. But, it is interesting that Jesus doesn't rebuke the disciples for their ambition, for their desire to be great. Jesus does direct the disciples to where their ambition ought to be directed - in humble service. That's a diff...

In addition, the LONANG (laws of nature and nature's God) can be weaponized. Rom 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Rom 12:20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Rom 12:21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good Heb 10:30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. Heb 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Mat_18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Mar_9:42 And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea. Luk_17:2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones. Luk 18:6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. Luk 18:7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? Luk 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? Job 42:5 I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee. Blackstone's Commentaries on the Laws of England, Book 1, Sec. “2 Of the Nature of Laws in General, ” page 41 states "This law of nature, being co-eval with mankind and dictated by God himself, is of course superior in obligation to any other. It is binding over all the globe, in all countries, and at all times: no human laws are of any validity, if contrary to this; and such of them as are valid derive all their force, and all their authority, mediately or immediately, from this original." and in the fourth book which is criminal law, Blackstone said that the highest crime is treason against God while treason against the King was second. If you look in current books on legal analysis on Amazon they totally ignore God and the LONANG (Laws of Nature and Nature's God). I have read that this is due to the infamous Erie v Tompkins case.

"What shall we Christians do now with this depraved and damned people of the Jews? ... I will give my faithful advice: First, that one should set fire to their synagogues. Then that one should also break down and destroy their houses. That one should drive them out the country."[Martin Luther]

This is bullshit. The Christian god faces no challenges of any type but he's going to torture people who fail their challenges in the most agonizing way possible forever if they fail theirs. No. That dumbass argument about how Jesus was tempted like us but never sinned and then try to play it up by saying he had to face even more difficult challenges because he had the power to avoid the cross if he wanted because he was innocent but chose not to, is not a justification for torturing people as sadistically as possible forever. If it's so difficult for humans to avoid sinning that it's to the point of impossibly then it's wasn't as difficult for Jesus as it is for everyone else. It would have to be to the point of impossibly like it was for everyone else because that's how difficult it is. To the point of impossibly. And trying to play it up by saying he faced harder challenges is like telling a disabled person that they're unjustified for failing because the other guy who had superhuman powers was able to do something that no one else has ever done. This is manipulative bullshit. The Christian god is an infinitely cruel, infinitely grotesque, infinitely manipulative, infinitely sadistic ass-wipe. He's the most evil disgusting monster ever to exist literally in eternity.

Probably because he was teaching ethics and morality that was thousands of years ahead of his time and still hasn't been emulated, people now know how to act to be like Jesus but everyone is left wanting. I don't think anyone can say they no someone that behaves like Jesus did.

Jesus is identified as the Messiah, because White people conquered the world and destroyed other's gods. You don't believe in Jesus yourself. If you did you would not send armies to kill other people. But, you are selfish, and use Jesus as an excuse to take from others. l
