This is secretly the land I'm most looking forward to. This is a land that gives us a coaster, flat ride, theatre show, water ride and kid's play area. Most theme park areas can only dream of being that well-rounded.
Also, the land's narrative concept of each ride teaching you how to tame and ride a dragon is fantastic.
Yes, 100%! I know my son is going to love this, even if he's going to be most excited to see Super Nintendo World. Well-rounded describes the whole park pretty well.

One is a highly themed carnival attraction and the water ride is a very slow moving slow loading water battle style ride that has been around for a decade. I want a legitimate water attraction which this park won’t have at open.

The adoptable dragon concept sounds absolutely adorable! I hope they keep it!
I wonder how it would work in practice. Carrying around a life-size baby dragon puppet doesn't seem like the greatest idea for a theme park, considering all the issues with loose items and rides.
@@TheRealPSKilla502 but the same could be said for any souvenirs or anything else people buy in the park every day. They must have lockers or something for people to keep their belongings in before they get on the rides

As a Berkian since the first film, i grew up with the films. Now age 23. I am so excited for this! And hope that all this happens. I can finally go to Berk. Love they’ll be doing a coaster
Although I doubt it will happen anytime soon, I secretly hope we get another HTTYD film, perhaps a prequel, spinoff, etc., sometime in the next decade or so. I suppose this can hold us over in the meantime.
It makes sense that universal isn’t doing the simulator ride. It would probably end up being too similar to Flight of Passage at Animal Kingdom. I also think universal is trying to move away from totally screen-based rides for this park. Which is something a lot of fans will appreciate.

I am a bit disappointed thats not happening, because I was actually hoping for a ride similar to FOP at universal. But there could still be one in the possible expansion area, or in some other part of the park. HTTYD really deserves something like that.
I don't know, they could 1 for 1 copy flight of passage and I would be all for it because it makes sense for this IP to have something like it. In the animated style with dreamworks at the helm for the flying sequences, it would be just as spectacular.
I agree! If they ever decide to expand the HTTYD land, then I hope they would put in a ride like E.T.
I’m really sad about no simulator 😢 I’m sick of the simulation rides but it would work SO well for HTTYD and would be the best way to really fully immerse you into the world.
I honestly think they should’ve added the screen ride because it would’ve been like a whole conclusion from the battle trading to the ride flying like everything is just the training bit and then there’s a final ride where you get to ride a dragon and then you fly through the hidden world and Berk and you do it like a romantic flight I think that would’ve been so cool and I really hope that in the extra space they could’ve maybe do that there I don’t know but I wish it was a thing overall the land is really cool and I would literally spend my whole money just to go there
Hard disagree. Simulators don’t age well, but this multi launch coaster looks amazing. Flight of Passage already has started blurring badly and screen rides make many people sick.
I feel like the concept of learning to tame/ride a dragon only works if there's the pay-off of having a ride where you actually do "ride" a dragon. There should've been a wing/flying coaster or that rumored flying simulator imho. That would've completed it.
I honestly do really like the idea of this land having more flat rides and offerings like the boat water battle, if they’re themed well enough then they’ll go a long way in helping to ensure there’s enough offerings to help spread people out, instead of just one or two major attractions per themed area like what often happens.
With how much they are packing this park, I think wait times might even be slightly lower on average. It seems like theres gonna be way too much to do, which isnt necessarily a bad thing

Universal will kill Disney with this park. Disney is now just constant ride breakdowns. Multiple rides at Disney break down multiple times a day it’s horrible. Been at universal for 3 years and never had a ride break down on me.
Universal has breakdowns. Particularly, on new attractions. They are very good at working out the kinks. They will crush disney.

With Disney having a recent string of disappointments, Universal has this win in the bag.
I’m so glad this series is being brought to the park, however I do think a flying simulator ride could’ve been the cherry on top. It may be a little too similar to flight of passage but I think this franchise has earned a spectacular ride like that, especially if it was accompanied by that incredible soundtrack.
Also remember flight of passage is always over an hour wait. There’s a reason it’s so popular. Hope they add this later at least.
This is my absolute favorite series on UA-cam right now! So excited for the future of Epic Universe
I hope we get the simulator eventually. Flight of Berk might seem like a copy, but would be a great ride and makes a lot of sense.
I think that the coaster could definitely be a sleeper hit. If you removed all of the theming from Hagrid's, the coaster layout is just plain fun with its small pops of air time and quick transitions. I know you didn't speak about what kind of train would be used, but I'm hoping that with Wavebreaker and now DarKoaster, it's another straddle-style seating arrangement that could reasonably be compared to and compete with Tron.
Tron seems like it may be a little bit of a flop, especially if most larger people can't fit on it like rumors suggest
The whole low to the ground steel coaster with launches, quick turns, and airtime seems to be Universal's thing these days. I understand if there are height restrictions, but I wouldn't mind having a little more variety. Having a unique seating arrangement could help in that sense, and it would also add to the ride thematically.
This made me miss Dueling Dragons more :(

For me the least exciting will be the Potter section.

I hope the simulator ride gets built in the future. With the popularity of Flight of Passage at Animal Kingdom, it would be awesome to have that same experience on the back of a dragon as well.
This is going to feel unlike any other park in America.
I hope they do the interactive elements in each land. One it gives them loads of money but also its fun for us. I like souvenirs that have a story to them. The baby dragons are like a combination of the Ikrans from pandora and the droids from galaxy edge, both I liked a lot. The Ikran was something that all the kids I walked by were excited to see and interact with (great was to pass time in long lines entertaining kids) and with my droid, while I know how the system works, how it would react randomly throughout the day was fun and I started giving it a personality and treating it like a toddler (I remember it started making worried noises in like for rip ride rocket and I was reassuring it that everything would be fine lol)
I'm curious on what the interactive feature in the Monsters land would be (I've only seen Dracula 1931, so I've got some catching up to do before the park opens.)
@@NocturneFexy I think it's the fact it turns into a "scare" zone at night with actors being either the monsters or townsfolk pretending to be monsters after dark. It's going to be fun scare like the death eaters at Halloween and not HHN style
That retention pond that you pointed out is definitely a spot for expansion. Before Skull Island was built, there was a large retention pond there for years surrounded by trees, so I'm definitely holding out hope for that area in the future... maybe 2030?
Idk this area of the park seemed to flood pretty bad when the tropical storms hit this year

This and Super Nintendo world seem to be the more complete lands. The new Wizarding World concerns me. It looks like it was supposed to be Fantastic Beasts then was changed when that franchise collapsed and now it supposedly only has one ride.
Wish they got a launched B&M wing coaster and themed the cars to wings with a dragon head lead car with lots of near misses.
Epic Universe appear to have a lot of rollercoasters of the same type / style.
Looking forward to it nonetheless. It’s certainly the most exciting theme park project I can think of within the last 20 years tbh.
Disney are going to need to react. Fast!! Considering how slow they move

I know simulator rides get a bad rap, but this is the ONE park where I feel like it would not only make sense but would be an aggressive challenge to Avatar Land's Flight of Passage. I dunno, it feels like making a land all about people who ride dragons and not giving us a ride that actually lets us... you know, RIDE A DRAGON, seems like a massive oversight

I know it’s httyd but I really hope it doesn’t feel too overly stuffed with merchandising if that makes sense. I hope it’s really immersive and feels like you’re in berk. Joe Rohde level theming
So much Viking and dragon training merch to buy. I didn’t mention it in the video, but even the candy shop involves dragons helping to make the treats using fire!

Omg I am literally crying just hearing about this! I wish the dragon racing thing was more like radiator Springs racers at Disneyland, like actually a race but I have to remind myself it's still very new and not even open yet so maybe they will expand it in the future! I am a bit disappointed there isn't a flight simulator, but I am very excited for the roller coaster and especially the character interactions! I am really hoping the dragons are not going to be those characters that just stand there. I hope they are like the Raptors in Jurassic World that actually make their sounds when interacted with! I hope the rumor of adopting a dragon is true! I am so excited for 2025!!!! 😁😁😁❤️❤️❤️🐉🐉🐉
I’ve wanted a HTTYD theme park for years. So excited that it may be happening.
Super excited for this land. But this was a missed opportunity for a wing coaster or flying coaster

HTTYD, hands-down gonna be the coolest land in Epic Universe.
This entire park just feels tailor made for me. haha
2:25 just saying that makes it sound WAYYY easier than it is. You have to move the wings back and forth at certain intervals and shift your body to to get the seat rocking and eventually flip. It is actually kinda difficult and exhausting.
It wouldn’t be proper dragon training if it were easy! But I look forward to the challenge.
Thank you so much for doing this series! I'm one of the few that is most excited for this land in the the park and you have not changed that feeling. I am especially excited that all of the attractions in it will not once require me to don a pair of 3-D glasses! I get sick of staring at screens real fast in theme parks, not to mention tends to make me sick, so I am really happy about that.
So far, Mario Kart seems like the closest thing to that but even then, to call it a 3-D screen ride would be a massive stretch.
My one gripe with this park is the lack of water rides. I know there is a splash battle but I think a water coaster or log flume would’ve really helped to round this park together. It’s a shame because out of the 3 parks only 1 actually has water rides.
The Monsters land supposedly has a Creature from the Black Lagoon boat ride designed as its phase 2 expansion.
My guess is they will have a splash play area. Plus I am secretly pulling for a 2nd Waterpark when they do a big expansion south of the parking lot.
Some consolation: in summer it will pour down from the skies every afternoon and the whole outdoor park will be water rides, and they'll close unfortunately until all clear.
@mayder 40 Hmmm... there some rumored indoor shows/attractions. Monsters is said to have a dark ride, HTTYD will have a theater show, the Ministry of Magic is indoors as well & don't forget Mario Kart is indoors. Also ther are the central hub attractions the rumored atrium or carousel.
I love the Toothless meet and greet! And the show looks awesome! Looks like a fun area.

I was just talking with my brother about how they should add a httyd ride and now I'm learning about a whole section of the park!
Really love what Universal is doing with this land. They hardly ever focus on sufficient children friendly areas. This is perfect for parents who want to bring their younger children to Universal.
Drop your kids off in Berk and go meet some monsters 😉
This is my #2 most anticipated land behind Monsters. I really enjoyed these films with my kids. The boat ride reminds me of the one at Legoland down the street. The Great Hall sounds like it will be reservations only & I am guessing onsite hotel guests will get 1st dibs... or not. Does anyone think Epic will use a Genie+ system to manage crowds and experiences? I am just afraid the early months of EU will see massive crowds that might ruin expectations.

Plot Twist: The Wizarding World has been dropped and now it's a Shark's Tale land.
Universal should take inspiration from the How To Train Your Dragon land from MotionGate Dubai. That mini land is basically perfect in capturing the mood and the essence of the beloved series.
Man I really hope they add in a dragon flying simulator ride, I've always dreamed of that
they should make it feel like we’re sitting on a dragon, like flight of passage or tron, cause it’s like flying on dragons back
This is my favorite land so far. I hope they go all in on the theming, like Klugheim in Germany's Phantasialand.

Not gonna lie, I’ve never seen HTTYD so I’m not a fan. Nor was I excited about this land, until I watched this video! This actually sounds really fun, now I gotta watch the movies before this park opens lol
I am so relieved that Universal listened to the fans! We don’t want screen rides and simulators, we love real coasters and immersive lands! This looks absolutely awesome.

I know this land gets poo poo'd a lot, but honestly after Monsters it is probably my most anticipated. Not crazy about the boat ride, but everything else sounds great and I think visually there are going to be some many great vantage points and things to look at.

They also apparently have received a patent on some kind of drone technology that is speculated to be used to have dragons literally flying around the land
There’s been a lot of comparisons to Hagrids on the Rollercoaster. Originally my day 1 rope drop attraction was going to be DK Minecart but this ride is slowly shifting me towards starting here instead

I love the feel of flying you get on that ride. It would just make sense for that same feel if you are supposed to be on a dragon. This is what it is to be a dragon. 😉

Amazing update. It's probably the land I'm looking forward to the least and as amazing as this video was, my mind hasn't changed. I think it has a really solid selection of rides and attractions, though, although I feel a launched Vekoma flying coaster would have been a better fit (and something different) rather than another multi-launch sit-down.
So you don't have kids. Not everything will apply to everyone
@Koni Chiwa No no, nothing to do with the fact it's a kids land actually, it's the theme and that it doesn't look as immersive as the other lands, plus I think another type of coaster would have added more variety (and no, not necessarily a more intense one)
I hope there’s some kind of dragon lair that we can visit to train various dragons

As someone who likes high-speed rides but gets dangerously sick when I go upside down in general I appreciate universals Porsche for having coaster rides that are slow and designed for kids but are also not design for adult AK having 8000 inversions in 2 seconds.
This land like the others sounds awesome and will be heavily detailed. It also sounds like a great section to take your kids.
even though i’ve never seen the movies, it looks like a fun area. just hope the boat ride is a little more fun than what was portrayed in the video lol

I’m a big coaster enthusiast and I’m loving what I’m seeing in your videos but besides the boat ride (which doesn’t look to get people too wet) I’m really astonished there haven’t been much talks of water rides especially with the heat here in Florida.
