You are #KnitWorthy! Find some quiet time for yourself, patiently enjoy knitting the pattern row by row, and you will love seeing this gorgeous design emerge.
@@karinaburgueno434 very simple, do the 32 stitch sample cable, measure it, then decide how big you want the blanket, eg say the 32 stitches sample gives you a 10 cm x 10 cm piece, to make a 100cm x 100cm blanket, multiply stitches by 10 = 320 stitches
Just finished a scarf repeating this pattern. for anyone interested, I used #6 Bulky, #11 needles. What I ended up with was a piece about 8-9" wide (damn cable flares!), and one whole plate (original + one repeat) was roughly 17.5". And I think I ended up using 7 - 4 oz skeins. Each plate is a little over one 4 oz skein in #6 Bulky with #11 needles. Additionally, the detail doesn't show up as well with multicolored yarns. The one I used was a gorgeous blue/black mix, but you can't see the cabling as well as you will with a solid color. On the other hand, the type of yarn I used was VERY forgiving of mistakes and snags!
Thank you very much .I am a self taught knitter been doing squares, now doing cable ! so happy with myself ….will have to gravitate to a jumper or cardigan ,presently corvid 19 isolated already 5 weeks ….
This is a lovely and intricate pattern, and explained very clearly. I knitted my dad a scarf for his birthday and was pleasantly surprised at the result. That said, it does take a lot of concentration and care not to make a mistake:)
Thanks, Mr. Mountain. You can do both! The written instructions for your first 32 rows. Then switch to the chart for your next 32. Really helps getting comfortable with knitting charts! 💖
I've never known how to do anything but the basics since grade school. No teachers available, no YT when I was growing up. I may have bitten off more than I can chew here, but I'm going to try anyway. Don't care for YT's political games, but I'm grateful it exists. Thanks for demonstrating this pattern. Just got finished with my first ever circular needle pattern. I made leg warmers, now I'm trying for a matching scarf and fingerless gloves with a thumb. So glad you and others put your skill on display for me to shamelessly borrow from! Edit about a week later: Just finished a scarf repeating this pattern. for anyone interested, I used #6 Bulky, #11 needles. Wow. Thank you for these videos. I am a new knitter, but your videos inspire me and now I am making my first sweater. I am doing the back right now, wanted to add cables in the front, but have been hesitant. After watching this, I feel like I can easily do it. And thanks for such detailing patterns!! Love it!!!
Omg, I am soooo glad I found you and your excellent presentation of cable knit patterns!! Absolutely love the idea of colour coding the pattern; wish I had found it sooner; so much easier to easily breeze through the pattern without having to stop and double check👍🏼👍🏼 Starting a sweater for my daughter; making up the pattern myself, and your gauge info is perfect. I’ll still do a test swatch, but is a huge time saver in mapping out my pattern. Much thanks for your time and effort and especially sharing your “know how”💛
I haven't been 'brave' enough to try a cable pattern yet but it's on my to do list and this one looks do-able. As always another amazing, helpful & easy to follow video. Thanks Kristen
I have totally fallen in love with the heart patter, made 2 scarves & a massive blanket 7 1/2 feet tall, and maybe over 5 feet wide. It had 11 long strips of different knitted patterns, I loved the hearts so much that I made 2 pockets in the front of the blanket, one for remote & one for the bunny lovey I made. I been dying to make this celtic cable ( love cables. I cannot just do a plain project, I get bored. Need to make 2 scarves now, with this celtic cable, thanks for doing these amazing tutorials.
Oh i remember knitting one you put in green color. it was such fun to count and remember when to go front or back. i did not have something to put the stitches away so i used a big safety pin. but i did it!! and was so proud of myself because it was when i started knitting. i did not know what i was doing i was just following instructions. I will try it again its totally worth it. Thank you for teaching me. Love it!!
I could literally watch and listen to your knitting videos All Day. I have learned so much from you. Thank you so much for Sharing your videos and your time.
Finally! A good, informative video in English! Thank you so much for the tutorial, I appreciate that you also explained how to read the pattern as I find that confusing. I usually prefer to follow diagrams. I subscribed and I'm off to explore your website.
Thanks for de-mystifying the secret of cable knitting! 🙏Could you explain how I could knit this pattern in the round (on a sweater for instance). How would I adjust the pattern so I could knit in on the round (on a sweater)?
Hi, I have a question. In this video @ 3:47 min you say after knitting and purling. How did you get to the middle? I knitted two rows of the garter stitch and one complete row of purling. Thanks for your video.😊
Oh My Lord! I fall in love with theses cable patern bit by looking at them........i got crazy already. How can i get the chart for these beautiful stitches , please? Thanks a bunch
Hello, love your channel and pattern collections. I’m just starting out. How much yarn do you leave at the end before starting the first knot? - I keep running out as I’m making the first 36 loops 😊
This is such a beautiful pattern, I am going to attempt to knit it! I have a question though, on the written pattern it says that row two is on the wrong side and I was wondering if this is true for all even rows? Thanks so much for the patterns!!
Unfortunately, I attempted several times to download your pattern, but I'm unable to connect and retrieve the pattern. Why, is it so difficult to obtain the pattern? I would love to work with this cable pattern.
Ummm...just started my pattern swatch and already in row 2 the last 2 P2 & K2 should be a P4 I believe. Pulled your written pattern from your link and instructions are the same...are there any updates? You noted how to deal with even side rows; what about the odd? At a glance row 4 also is not the adverse/reverse of row 3...little hesitant to carry on when I’m only 4 rows in and this is a 32 row repeat ??? Any guidance? Thx
Help …. I’ve been working on this pattern and set it aside for awhile and now can’t figure out which row I am on. One row counter says I should be on 7 and another 19 … yikes… I’m lost and can’t figure it out by the chart or written instructions.
I have attempted to sign up to your email and unable to connect. I'm subscribed to your utube. Unfortunately, I cannot retrieve your pattern to the Fancy Celtic Cable Headband. I would love to try this Celtic Cable Headband. The pattern looks intriguing. Would you please facilitate my access to your Fancy Celtic Cable Headband Pattern? I would be so HAPPY and content to finally work with this Celtic Cable Pattern. Please, assist...
Question, I have someone wanting a large cowl in this pattern but I’m not sure how to convert this pattern to basically a wider/bigger version. Still same pattern but the cowl is bigger than this
Becca Berger I am planning to make a large infinity scarf type fowl from this pattern, I have bought a Rowan super chunky type yarn. I am planning to make the pattern slightly larger in places by increasing and then decreasing the number of stitches.
Hi! I have a question about the pattern. On rows 1 and 2 there in parenthesis it says (RIGHT SIDE) and (WRONG SIDE) respectively. Does that mean you flip the pattern from front to back and then repeat flipping it for each row, or is it just the first two rows?
Animated Spellcaster it’s just to show you which side is wrong and which side is right so you know . Basicly the right side is the side with the pattern on it and the wrong side is just the flat part that has no pattern.
I like this video, but would find it very helpful if you would give an estimate of how many yards of yarn it takes to make a single repeat of the pattern. Preferably one measure for each size needle/weight of yarn.
I also tried to download the pattern. This link does NOT connect to the pattern? I'm trying, seeking, asking and pursuing this Celtic Cable Pattern, unfortunately I still don't have it?
You are #KnitWorthy! Find some quiet time for yourself, patiently enjoy knitting the pattern row by row, and you will love seeing this gorgeous design emerge.
If I would to make this into a baby blanket how many stitches would I have to cast on?

Been avoiding cables like the plague but this looks so easy once you explain it!
Your color-coded patterns are so helpful! Can’t decide whether to follow the chart or the written version - they’re that good.
