I’m happy I can give everyone some kind of distraction from the crisis! Where I live in florida the situation isn’t so bad anymore, so everything is pretty lax so long as you’re wearing a mask! I hope it gets better for everyone soon 🥺❤️
“There’s so many books I want right now, I don’t know how to cope with this” no truer words have ever been said 🤧 LOVE UR VIDS ASH!!! THANKS FOR BLESSING US WITH 2 VIDS IN 2 DAYS💖
I live in Canada where I only have an indigo near me which is like 80% random home supplies and 20% actual books hidden in the back. If I ever get to travel again, I want to go to a huge beautiful book store and live out my reader dreams
I can never go book shopping because I read in English but I don't live in an English speaking country so the local book stores don't sell the English version 😫 the struggle is real
6:20 in Germany we actually have a „custom“ price for the books so the bookstore/online store can’t put a discount on them. But sometimes bookstores have „mängelexemplare“ that’s when the books were damaged while making so if there’s like a cut in the Cover etc. they can sell them for less. If the books are used they can be sold for less of course. 😁
omg i clicked this video after wondering if anyone read keeper of the lost cities and then i see you pull up those books. i am shooketh, that series is so underratedd
Omg I'm glad I'm not the only one who loves going into the kid section....I picked up Neil Patrick Harris' magic misfits series and my kiddo loves to hear me read them to him....they're super fun!
I wish I could go for book shopping too or at least even *_grocery shopping_* . But the Covid situation is so bad right now in India that I can't even dare to step a out of my house.
@@adashofash Thank you Ashley. I am really pleased by how people from around the world are trying to help us in these tough times. Your videos are one of the things that keeps me entertained in quarantine so that I don't stress out too much. :)
Warbreaker is my secret Sanderson favorite. I love all his other books also but Warbreaker is such a great standalone and I know you will love it. (I know he is planing a second one but it reads as a standalone)
I’m so glad to see that bookstores are open now 🙌🏻 and Barnes And Noble is my home I love it, Black Sun is one that’s been on my radar for awhile so I’m thinking of picking that up at some point too :) happy reading:)
I live for this kind of video. I personally can't go to bookstores right now because of the situation, but it's lovely that I am seeing Ash book shopping. I miss bookstores 😭
Omg I LOVED this. I love bookstores too. I rather go in-store because it is so peacefull and live this. But sometimes Online-store is cheaper but I LOVE in-store shopping. Ps : 5:53 that's so random. 😂😂
I want to ask you some Questions: When did you start reading for pleasure? ... What popular book did you dislike? ... What book should everybody read? ... What genre do you never read? ... What's your favourite book? ... If you could have a pint with one author, dead or alive, who would it be? ... Where is the best place to read? ... Who's your favourite book character And can you give me some reading tips for beginners
I have been listening to the audiobooks from my library app. But if I really love the book and I will re-read again then I get it. Brandon Sanderson either start with Warbreaker or Elantris. Then you can read The Stormlight Archives series and then the Mist orb trilogy. I am just getting the Shadow and Bone trilogy and the Six of Crows duology.
Brent Weeks Lightbringer series is fantastic (also colour magic system and a nice average-joe main character)! Lies of Locke Lamora as well if you haven't read it
im not sure if you know this but in person at barnes and noble at checkout you can ask them to match online prices and they will! its such a nice way to save a few bucks if you like shopping in person better.
There’s this book store in my old town (which I’m moving back to) called the book barn and not only do they have a box of 1 dollar books, a huge section, some places to sit in the kids section for parents, but there are CATS no seriously the owner has cats and they just Rome around the store it’s amazing
Love u Ash.....u know what I like I'm going crazy at home. My parents won't let me out of the house, let alone the terrace or nearest bookstore.....Amazon is trying to substitute right now......
Hey Ash, if you have ever wanted to support a indie or local bookstore, but shop online because you have none close to you. Check out bookshop . org. With their website, you are able to purchase the books you want to buy, and some of that money goes back to indie bookstores. On their website it says that they have been able to raise " $13,669,683.02 raised for local bookstores ". As far as I can tell the only bookstores that are included are in the US. To my knowledge, you will never pay full price for a book, they always have a few dollars off of the books.
i’ve never been to a book store before but i’m going to barnes and noble for the first time this weekend!! i’m so excited and i don’t know what books to get 😭
Black Sun cover is so beautiful! I love the bookstore I have, but I'm just too lazy to get dress and go out, so I'm ordering online and living with the consequence of having books with different sizes in the same series.
Ash I cannot recommend the girl who drank the moon MORE! It is an amazing tale that whisks you away to the magical land of the Protectorate! I 100% recommend it to anyone who loves a good fantasy tale! Do more videos lol like this and some more middle school recs? Thank you ash! Love, 12 year old new sub 😁
the poppy war by rf kuang is incredible. it's such a great exploration on the complexities of war, the travesties of colonialism, and the roots of asian pain. a lot of content warning though- she did not hold back.
The Cosmere is a lot but not all of his books (basically if our earth is a thing then it's not cosmere). Warbreaker is a standalone for now but years in the future there will be a sequel! But as far as covers go all of Brandon's uk cosmere have that same style of cover with different colors as the main color depending on what world it takes place it, so you'll probably be able to grab that if you want to have it match. warbreaker is great to read before way of kings, its such a fun book! But the specific order doesn't matter too much overall cause you'll find all the connections eventually (or are told about them all if you miss some of them) but generally people do recommend warbreaker before stormlight and I agree with them (not just because it has one of my top favorite cosmere characters xD)
These type of videos are the best given the current situation. For people who can’t go book shopping themselves it’s fun and relaxing to watch
I’m happy I can give everyone some kind of distraction from the crisis! Where I live in florida the situation isn’t so bad anymore, so everything is pretty lax so long as you’re wearing a mask! I hope it gets better for everyone soon 🥺❤️
