Any idea whether the soy sauce paper will eventually rot or decompose? I tried this 3 weeks ago and it worked great (thanks!) but I'm wondering whether what I made will last
Wow, that lemon juice technique is so cool!! Who would've thought lemon juice would give that lovely old appearance? Thanks for making this excellent video!
Where I live rains all the time so I can't let it soak in the sun. Would put it in the oven with a low or medium heat be a good option or would it ruin the paper?
I am trying the baking soda. I put in a plastic container with a lid. I'm going to let it sit for 48-72hrs. Hopefully that'll work. If not moving on the dryer sheets.
The only problem with the first technique is that your paper will now smell like soy sauce. You can also use some instant coffee added to some water as well to age the paper.
My dog would chew it up in a heartbeat as it will smell like soy sauce, food. So Tea or coffee would be the best way I think. I don't want my paper smelling of soy sauce. 😂
I tried the soy and the earlier coffee video technique. The soy worked best. really nice effect, but the test artwork smells of soy now. I hope that will go away.
@@CrescentMoon898 well, I didn't take too long. A few days i guess. But I didn't put my face up to it close to test it. It could have still had an odor I suppose. Side note: I did one and didn't like it, and was able to wash the soy off under a tap. It removed most of it. If you have pencil work on the paper, I wouldn't recommend it other than a last resort though. It dulls the pencilart a little.
This is horrible! Such a good waste to Soy Sauce! And on your other video, I never knew that there could POSSIBLY BE other uses for coffee. Ha ha ha Very interesting tho
This video was great! I just have one question. If I write in marker on the first coffee method will the writing smudge ?
not if it dries

But, will my paper smell like soy sauce?
Yes!! I am trying to figure out how to get the smell out. Maybe some baking soda?

Yes a very bad smell! Looks great but it's back to coffee for me! :(
I ended up trashing it. The soy sauce smell never left. So i used vanilla extract instead. Also coffee works great too!!

You are welcome :)
Is coffee method work in bondpaper? I mean what paper shoud use?
Does the paper end up smelling like soy sauce? I want to do this for a poster to put in my room but I don't want it to radiate a smell.
That's what I was wondering :/
Gonna try it out.
Do you have to print something on it because i need to draw stuff on mine for history!🙂
No
Just bake it and check it . Color will change and paper will be brittle like old paper should. Soy ssuce is for chicken chow mein!!
Can we use Soya coffee or black, mint tea?
Loved it, it was really useful!
I meant to ask - are these printed with an ink jet or laser? I assume laser since it didn't smudge.
Laser printer.
fixitsamo Ok, thanks!

Can you burn the paper with the heat gun?
Yes you can...rust effect as shown in the video
One lemon juice would've been enough!
yes one lemon juice is more than enough
Wouldn't it smell soy and lemon afterwards?
Depending on brand...Some brands have a more noticeable smell than others but mine it's quite noticeable :)
No strong smell for lemon juice and it will evaporate on its own but vinegar will have a sharp unpleasant chemical odor
Can you do that whith coffe?
I want the link so i can print that
Don't have a heat gun, so I'll have to give the soy sauce method a try.
Need some ancient looking parchment

The smell of technique 1?
Doesn’t the soy sauce smell after?
I tried the soy and the earlier coffee video technique. The soy worked best. really nice effect, but the test artwork smells of soy now. I hope that will go away.
Did the smell ever go away?
@@CrescentMoon898 It did. It's fine now.
@@keithharrop_art do you remember how long it took for the smell to go away?
