Wire Wrapping Tutorial- Woven Pendant Bail for Framed Pendants
Вставка
- Опубліковано 1 жов 2024
- Occasionally I will make a pendant which the style doesn't incorporate a bail built into the pendant. I will usually just make a large jump ring or split ring that will accommodate a chain and just attach the jump ring to the pendant frame.
In this video I wanted to create a nice woven bail that would compliment my pendant much better than my usual go to.
This bail uses only round wires and incorporates the modified soumak weave to match my pendant.
This design can me modified to suite your pendant!
Enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed this bail attachment tutorial!
Have a great week! ☺️💜
May I ask what kind of round nose pliers are those! I like the flat edge/part that sticks out! That looks so nice for making the eyes, or wrapping an exact same size over and over so much easier!!!
I need these! The ones I have are solid and smooth so wire doesn't hold, and getting the exact same size is a nightmare. Even just making exactly the same size a 2nd time, not to mention over and over and over! ! 😅😅
I'd appreciate it if you could tell me what specific type of pliers they are. BIG TIME! I'm disabled and this would save me a lot of pain! Sometimes, it makes my arms so weak, i can't even pick up and hold a spoon/fork!
i hope you won't take this in a bad way (but willingly risking it because it needs to be said) : your contents and creations are great but you should really learn how to film correctly when you're making close ups. that's really frustrating to see those parts of the video because the object moves constantly, your hands too, it's frequently out of focus, moving again and again, and then you try to make cuts (i gess this is where you try to take it differently in your hands to show it better) :/. It gives sea sickness :(. with a better close up technique you'll probably avoid all those quirks. i'd suggest using an approach with way more depth of field, and a fixed focus at least. Good luck !
Well, I do realize this.
It’s easier said than done. I’ll tell ya it’s a hell of a lot easier to just wire wrap than it is to film yourself wire wrapping. I’ve been working on it for over 4 years. I feel I’m getting better but who knows. That’s why my tutorials are free! 💜
Thanx for sharing. When we were kids, we put up fall stuff beginning of September, Halloween stuff beginning in October, and thanksgiving beginning of November. The last weekend of November comes the Christmas decorations.
That’s pretty much what I do as well 🎃🍁
A much more elegant solution. Thanks for sharing.😊🤗😁
Christmas decorations after Thanksgiving.
Wonderful! ☺️
Love your videos! Thank you for sharing your craft. You always inspire me …….love the bail.
Thank you so much! ☺️
If we are having an organized, our tree we'll go up the Saturday after thanksgiving. But some years it doesn't go up until the day before christmas, LOL!
Sounds like our family! Lol
Ooh love this! You make it look so easy! Every time I fold wire in half it always twists and I’ve tired lost of ways, yours just went in half and the strands stayed together and did as they were told! Finally someone else who doesn’t use their nail!! I never have long nails they break so have to be kept very short and rarely are ever beyond my finger tip! I have been using a guitar pic as well. 4:52 I love your clamp I’ve not found anything like it it the U.K. and I’ve even tried searching by photo, I’ve got 2 wooden clothes pegs the spring type and sanded to a better shape with leather glued on the end, and 2 spring clips but I don’t like their angle as they can mark the wire. I have to be careful a as I have dysgraphia how it affects the jewellery is like gripping a pencil it hurts and my brain can’t seem to tell my hands not To grip tight - or however it works - so pliers wire etc same effect only recently realised after a friend was watching me make
Her a spider (like me, shehas a list of medical obstacles - it was her I was helping when in mental crisis she had to do some digital form so they could gauge her level and only way she would was when I said I’ll do it too - showed up my dyscalculous milt dyslexia and dysgraphia) it’s nice to be able to do something I enjoy that my
Medical “crap” doesn’t take away! I’ve learnt loads through your videos. 😊😊😊 oh I’ve only just finished my first wire pendant - been doing jewellery for 10’years and found utube makers during bout of illness that lingered and hubby said watch utube and rest! 😂😂
UA-cam is an awesome resource!!
Keep it up! ☺️💜
Traditionally, our tree didn't go up until December 1st. But nowadays, if it's snowy and I feel like it, I'll put it up as early as Thanksgiving.
Sounds fun!
Snow is helpful! Lol
A much nicer-looking bale!
Yes!! ☺️
Halloween is NEVER over and "Christmas" doesn't even exist (at least not at MY place!)!!!
Haha!
Right on! Every day is Halloween 🎃
Im still learning how to do the sumak weave! Such beautiful work! Thank you!!
You are so welcome! ☺️💜
Yep luv these ❤. I don't decorate for any holiday. To much work for me. When my lest was little my mom was babysitting 1 day n decorated while I was at work. Told her she had to take it down too lol
Funny! lol
The guitar pick is the only equipment that looks familiar to me. 😁 Beautiful masterful work as always.❤
Thank you very much! 💜

Awesome! ☺️
Where did you get the clamp you used in this vid? I really need one of those. It would help my hands so much.

Hi, Thank you. Where did you get the clamp from, please?
I'm new to this. You certainly know how to make a person jealous.
Oh shucks ☺️
Keep practicing!
We don’t decorate for Christmas until at the earliest mid December x
Right on!
Nice! I’m a big fan of hanging bails. Nice to have options!
Right on!
These are so beautiful! What an artist you are, truly. I love that hammered look to the metal and the little touch of color with the luminous stone bead, just like a real moon. Wonderful, thank you! I'm going to modify the design to make it simpler, keeping that basic circle structure, and adding more beads, for the 8-9 yr old kids in my neighborhood. I'll have them make a pendant for themselves then mount it on a leather cord for them. They will love it!
Wonderful! I love hearing about modifications! ☺️💜
Looks great!
I need to get a clamp
