Hey Earl! I’m also Earl. Great video! Thanks for sharing. New sub here from Oregon.
Hey man! Earl is actually my last name. Haha. Thanks for the sub, brother!
Luckily for us we were able to fill all 4 tags in our group, but it was a super tough hunt. I saw more does and fawn this year than I think I've ever seen in years past honestly. So hopefully if we can get a good survive rate through the winter next year should have plenty of deer. I also have to wonder if the early hunt is messing with the success on the "normal" hunt, just a thought but who knows. Still great to get out in the outdoors though! Great video!
I love the Kamas Unit! We did the early season general rifle deer hunt this year. All of us tagged out! Had a blast. The secret is to get as far away from trails and people as possible.
That’s what I keep hearing. Can’t seem to find where that “far away” location is, tho... Hahahaha! They. Are. Everywhere! Bahaha!! 😱
@@EarlOutdoors you'll get em! Great video, thanks for sharing!
@@ulaana appreciate the encouragement, brother! We’ll keep at it! Congrats on your early season bucks!!! We do accept meat donations ;) Hahahaha!
Is that unit requires a lot of climbing? I can walk 6-8 miles but can’t climb very high 😅. Congrats with your game! It’s my second year to get a tag and my first year actually went out there. Didn’t see any buck but the experience was great! I guess Wasatch West is too crowed. 😆
@@calvinzhu8680 if you want to get away from people and trails, then yes, lots of “climbing”. But I guess that depends on what you mean by climbing. Some of the climbs I’ve done are 2000ft over 2 miles or so. If that’s a “climb”, then yes. Lots of that on Kamas.
Great unit! We saw you a few times. It’s a rough hunt up there and absolutely beautiful! Saw a few nice bucks opening morning then a ton of does after. But they are up there!
It really is gorgeous! Next time, shout out and slow me down! Love to meet other hunters and share those moments :)
@@EarlOutdoors of course! We definitely will! We are planning on going back for 2021 also! We were camped at the trailhead.
@@trentnorton7797 awesome! Yep I remember you guys! Very cool. Hope to see you again!
Looks like Sunday last day of the hunt cold fun times
That was a beautiful place, watching snow fall is always peaceful. Do you hot tent? I watch all videos on hot tenting, that’s how hunting videos Like yours show up on my algorithm. I just saw Randy Newberg hunting from a hot tent. 😊❤️🇺🇸❄️☃️🛷🔥⛺️🌄
I never have, but I’d love to!
Looks cold
Great video 👊🏻
Great video! You'll get em next time! :)
There are tons of deer up in that area, they just never seem to be around when you are looking for them. I hunted up there in 2019 and heard deer all around me all the time while i was up there. Its hard to see anything with how thick the country is up there. I saw two decent bucks at last light on the last day and they were across a canyon. The other thing too was the year i went hunting we had received so much snowfall the deer/elk/moose wouldnt have to venture far to find water and food so they would just hang tight wherever they were at and not come out in the open. I primarily saw deer in meadows and sometimes right off the side of the road. My trips up there during to summer i saw tons of deer on the kamas unit but thats because the hunt wasnt goin on of course. Seems like when you arent looking for them you see them in abundance but as soon as you have a tag in your hands and a gun they are no where to be seen. I want to go up there again and hunt this year seeing as though we havent got as much snow as of yet. Such beautiful country up there and during the day you can always go fish one of the lakes in your downtime. My best advice is to always get away from the roads and crowds and your chance of success will increase.
Much appreciated!!! Yeah I seemed to see them all over private land, but nothing on public. They definitely know. Hahaha
I don't see it as being a sissy man. I call it common sense and having your priorities right. Had to smile at your opening morning with your boy being cold. Oh the memories that brought back! 😁
Thank you! That’s encouraging! Glad we could spur some memories for you. :)
I've hunted up there before years ago when I was like 14 or 15 but never got anything up there but I got a buck this year in bountiful
Big game can smell private property. They know where to hide 100 yards in plain sight saying look at my @$$ mr fudd 😆 Buy some cougar and coyote urine and put a few drops on all the fence posts to make sure they don’t flank you into private property and you can just glass from a good point. Beautiful snowy wilderness! 🤙🏽
Had a cow tag for the chalk creek zone. Saw monster bucks the first week of October. If you still have that tag I can share the info.
Hi! Do you mind sharing that pin where you saw the buck? I have a tag for that unit, but I've never been there. :/
