I learned navigation in ROTC back in the early 2000s, I didnt end up going into the service but it was very useful and Ive used the knowledge in both arma and basic survival and its actually saved my life
@@CrispyGaming92 For sure! thats how theyve wanted it since the beginning, its so great to know basic terrain navigation cause by the looks of things, we arent too far off from a grid collapse lmao
Thank you very much for the video! Navigation is something I really struggle with. I wish the game did a better job with the tutorial on this, but you did an amazing job! Thank you!
Thanks mate! You’re very welcome. It’s definitely takes some getting used to I still get lost time to time especially in the heat of battle, the more you play the better and quicker you’ll get at finding your bearings
Great video mate, love the in depth info but I never take it that far. I just look for a town find the name and use my compass that way and follow roads 😅😂 too annoying and hard clicking through all the buttons on ps5 I’d definitely be doing this though if I had a PC. Great vid 👍
That’s definitely the way mate! I do the same I just kinda wing it! Once you get a few hours into game it’s much easier to work out where you are! Thanks for watching mate!
For the PlayStation players out there thinking how much it sucks that they don’t get mods. Take it from someone on Xbox. They don’t work nearly as well as vanilla anyway take forever to download and there’s admin who will kick you out for literally no reason you’re not missing much. I have access to all the mods and all the bells and whistles, and still choose to play vanilla mostly because it functions better sure, there’s no GPS. But the game doesn’t crash every 15 minutes either it only crashes once an hour.
As a new player on xbox ive been using combat ops to help myself get use to navigating by compass and land marks. Still rather confused on the different markers you can place on the map. I should also note im playing vanilla on xbox as i want to fool around with mods once im more familiar with the game.
Yeah nice! So the map markers are based on military map markers for different maneuvers/ targets. I still don’t know them all to be honest I just try and be consistent if I’m marking enemies or an objective. You’ll get used to them
Need to stand in front of tv with reading glasses and a magnifying glass for help tips, compass zoom? Bohemia never tested this game on TV,s we are not eagles
😂 true! You can use the focus button which gives you a little extra zoom for me I have it set on middle mouse button I’m not sure what it is on console but it helps a lot
The church is the only church in that grid 😂, seriously on the Arland map signal hill is relatively the middle of the map and can be easily seen in the dark you will have a pretty good idea roughly your location.
It’s more the concept of how to find things for new players that have never played before that I’m trying to demonstrate as opposed to how easy it is to see in the dark. Sounds like you’re a more experienced player so it’s probably not gonna benefit you… but thanks for watching and commenting 🙂
I know it feels that way 😂 but the more you play the quicker you’ll be and the less you’ll need to use every single step. This is to help brand new players learn how to use their equipment

Unreal! That’s what I like about this is that it’s actually transferable to real life skills

I learned navigation through working as a surveyor its cool that they are pretty much simplifying navigation. Really good video for sure.
Thank you glad you enjoyed!
Nice, short and easy to understand, than you 🙂
@@Crowuk01 you’re welcome mate! Hope you enjoyed!
Tha ks for explaining man. Really appreciate the video.

Great video but the irony isn’t lost on me that you got lost in a running race
😂😂😂 I wish I knew these tips then I might have finished
Thank you
You’re welcome! Enjoy
Nice vid!

In Arma 3, you could make the compass larger on the map screen. It’s equally annoying on PC that that feature isn’t in Reforger.
If your gamer you should have had a monitor long ago and this game is vanilla as hell
Dw I’ve memorised the map, until it’s night time 🤣🤣
😂
How do you read tiny text ingame let alone all the numbers on compass

I agree
Along the corridor and up the stairs
Someone was listening in geography class! 😂
Lol i like how he says "before you know it you know where you are" like 50 mins later

It’s double tap- down for PS5 guys
@@azphaltspartan7991 thanks mate!
Way too complicated. Who has time for this. I am but a simple man. I need simplicity. Good info though.
That’s fair! Definitely not for everyone. Thanks for watching mate
what a boring game
Greatest game ever of all time
Game is fun just the map thing kinda long for real in real game I barely use all the tools just quick map looks n hope for the best
Stick to COD lil bro
Yeah it takes some time to get accustomed to everything, eventually you can kinda wing it
@khelbeyarnoldjr5440 I think the maggot youtuber just deletes my comments 😂😂 , game is a glich mess, freezes trying to aim 😂😂
