Just going to leave this here, because I want to let you all know how divine this masterpiece is. I was first introduced to this song around... 2015 or so? I don't have a precise answer since younger me was too oblivious to how temporary everything was. I believe I was around 9 years old, chilling in 4th grade like there was no tomorrow. I only played Final Fantasy 14 once and never laid my hands on it again, I just played other games like Minecraft and Roblox since I was personally attached to them. Make no mistake, as I would play Final Fantasy 14 tracks to no end during my gameplay. There was this one server named Wynncraft (Funny since both Final Fantasy 14 and Wynncraft are MMORPG games, but let's not compare an entire fully-fledged game to a Minecraft server) where I would always play Final Fantasy 14 tracks while doing general stuff. I remember it so crystal clear in my head, gosh. It isn't just limited to games though, as during car rides I would always request for this song to be played as it was just so inspiring and ethereal. I guess I have to thank my Dad for introducing this stuff to me, I can't thank him enough. This song was ingrained into me following those years: 2016, in 5th grade where I was slowly becoming more involved in school activities; 2017, where it was a bit of a rough start, but I was able to manage myself in 6th grade; 2018, where I had my best memories with my friends; 2019, where I unfortunately started to somewhat drift away from the song in favor of others since I felt like it was becoming a bit stale; 2020, where everything had fell apart and I promptly forgot about it. Now fast forward to the present day and... my gosh. Listening to this was just like listening to it the first time... except better. The amount of nostalgia and poignance I feel is unparalleled, but quickly turns into reassurance and upbringing for the future. Even though I still regret not doing anything to savior any memories. The mellow piano that makes me shed a tear at 2:15, is just... splendid, like a recall to youth when everything was so foreign. The choir at 4:46 gets you prepared for the catharsis partially, and 5:44 which substantially readies you for the catharsis that is... 6:25 where a leitmotif of the main theme plays and... my god, I am speechless. We should try and appreciate every single moment, even if it is hectic or miserable, as its value may be completely unknown to you until it's too late. Thank you Square Enix and Final Fantasy 14, for creating this. Thank you Dad, for sharing this to me.
I never realized how good the rest of this song because my party is always too busy commentating on the Netflix Original that is this dungeon. Honestly the only reason I do MSQ roulette is jokes about how easy the boss fights are now.
Yeah, I'm hoping the upcoming stat squish will help fix the issue of early level cap trials/raids becoming a complete joke. I get that stuff should get easier as you get better gear, but not to the point where you can just skip/ignore cleverly designed fight mechanics. Never understood not including an ilvl cap on the 8/24 player content. It gets just as trivialized by high gear. If you want to just mow down the bosses, do it unsynched. Let those of us in Duty Finder have a fun experience.
I always love getting this place in Main Scenario Roulette. The music is beyond epic. I love it :) I'll have to go through it again one time though and actually watch the cutscenes, something I never got to do when I first played through it.
First time finishing this not long ago, got the usual "Rush through and do as little as humanly possible" crew. Too fast, too easy. Second phase of the final boss was a bit of a stiffer challenge, made the group have to work for it a little. This music got me so pumped. I wanted to fight EVERYTHING in here. Such a shame so much can be skipped, and what can't be can be run over.
Going back here for many reasons. 1. THEY'RE UPDATING THE PRAE EXPERIENCE! 🎉🎉 It's all just plans as of writing. 2. Super late did I notice this song has bits of Answers on it. 3. And Love You Shall Find (Tertium/Terncliffe theme) is supposedly a sad version of this. And of course, 4. If you're a fan of anything Praetorium, go do Ruby Doomsday and subsequent quests in the series.
ARR is basically a huge slog at this point, but this part of the MSQ was climactic as hell and honestly made all the slogging worth it. I guess one could say this is where FFXIV finally, truly starts getting good.
I got lucky, my FC and some of their friends did my praetorium run, and let me watch the cutscenes, but we had an ass telling me to skip or we kick him.
If we had someone like that in our group, and we have like two or more sprouts, we are waiting til done. The impatient person always leave the party. I want people to get the lore/story.
@@samuellove9619 The Porta Decumana used to be the last part of The Praetorium. It was... Much longer, before the overhaul. And the Ultima Weapon was practically a joke compared to the "at least fights back" current version. (primal phases are jebaits, don't go running around looking for radiant plume safespots like I did after getting it in main scenario roulette right after uwu prog) To the point that "Thunderer", despite its first appearance being in old Praetorium, is now associated with Behemoth and/or _Twintania_ for many.
Admittedly, that may be more because of just how much a difficulty spike Twintania is, coupled with how it's the first boss of an ultimate. (DSR I'd count as having a zeroth boss, but that's its own thing.)
The reason Square doesn't have an Orchestrion Roll for this track is because this track will be embedded in your head once you're done with the game.

Surely my preferred track of all the OST, Stormblood tracks included. This theme is SOOOO epic !
I'll be honest I love this theme, especialy at the start when they show you, cid, biggs and wedge its damn epic.
1:11 Years later, they still haven't fix the cutscene where the airship is frozen mid transition. (Look to the left)
out of the countless times I've run prae, this is the first time I've truly heard the music.
When I first ran this place I didn't even know you could interact with a console for the walker. So I ran all the way on foot...
My best song in the game.
If you're a fan of anything Praetorium, go do Ruby Doomsday and subsequent quests in the series.
watching in 2015 ... those armors and hp/mp are such a blast from the past :D \o/
2:14 is beautiful.
Omg. I remember protect and stone skin!
When you finally take time to listen to the song, suddenly Main Scenario Roulette is 2% less awful
6:06 Cool And Awesome Song
ARR is basically a huge slog at this point, but this part of the MSQ was climactic as hell and honestly made all the slogging worth it. I guess one could say this is where FFXIV finally, truly starts getting good.
WoW, FFXIV, and ESO...If i have to choose just one "epic" theme from them all...this is it.
The opening part on this is amazing.
I didn't expect to hear this outside of the dungeon.
I just want an Extreme Dungeon of this...
MSQ? It's a pretty sick dungeon. Leveling roulette? GET. ME. OUT.
the full song is actually quite nice, never get to hear it in game because of cutscene interruption and boss music
One of the few, maybe the only, dungeon I can't come to dislike while facerolling through it.
Penitus? LEWD
*This scene cannot be skipped.*
_screams internally_
*_Such devastation! This was not my intention!_*
@@toujounozomi3126 that is The Porta Decumana unfortunately... the one you wish you got when MSQ rouletting.
@@samuellove9619 The Porta Decumana used to be the last part of The Praetorium.
It was... Much longer, before the overhaul. And the Ultima Weapon was practically a joke compared to the "at least fights back" current version.
(primal phases are jebaits, don't go running around looking for radiant plume safespots like I did after getting it in main scenario roulette right after uwu prog)
To the point that "Thunderer", despite its first appearance being in old Praetorium, is now associated with Behemoth and/or _Twintania_ for many.
Admittedly, that may be more because of just how much a difficulty spike Twintania is, coupled with how it's the first boss of an ultimate. (DSR I'd count as having a zeroth boss, but that's its own thing.)
