There used to be a small pulau where during low tide in the ole days we could wade across and in the night using a sampan, the waters between the pulau and mainland, we could catch lots of squids. We Sembawang boys used to enjoy so much in the good ole days.
I used to stay along Jln Janggus more than 40 years ago. Also studied at Sembawang Primary School near to the beach (currently known as boys brigade campsite I think).
new subscriber here 😅 i always treasured any lone rider videos and to venture in singapore is one of ny bucket list😂i hope this inspired me to materialise my dream later on...solo rider❤
In Tg Irau once stay a very famous footballer family and most kampung houses built on stilts due to once in awhile of super high tides of knees deep, a fond memories in the old days
I accidentally discovered this area during circuit breaker time when I cycled a lot more to keep myself sane. I could not believe such places still existed in Singapore! Made me so happy and brought back many happy childhood memories. 😊
Kg Wak Hassan was still there in the year 2000. I took a bunch of photos there, knowing that its days were numbered. In the mid-eighties, I used to regularly visit Tg Irau, a lovely quiet spot, off the beaten track. It's such a pity that these do not exist any more 😟
Hi Robbie, thanks for watching! I guess things move on with the times and nothing is permanent. But that area is still a lovely peaceful place to be at during the day, a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. Such pockets of tranquility are getting really rare here in Singapore.
In the 60s during year end School holidays my brother and me used to visit Tg Irau and the sea along the shore was so clear and we could see fish swimming nearby😅
Yes it is indeed a nice place for riding! You can come at night to film your pontianak movie. Chances of capturing a real pontianak is quite high! 😁 Thanks very much for watching. 💕💕
Selimang? Oh ! Oh !What a name. Or it is a corruption of the word semilang. Ikan sembilang to be precise because the place is close to the sea.Apologies if I am wrong. LMK
I saw some remnants of past structures scattered around the area. Very interesting. Some looked like old walls and staircases.. etc.. this place is deep in history.
I was there a couple of times. Until not long ago, it must have been an outstanding beautiful spot in Singapore. One can still sense the former beauty, but now it is too much cleaned and straightened up.
Just subscribe ur channel bro..a good bike tour to show younger generation what is singapore like those days..bring me a lot of memories..used to stay at Onreat Rd..anak makampau bro.he..he..a favour bro..how does it look now at Kg Nekad,Mt Pleasant Rd.tq

Nothing stays the same in this world. Even the present modern changes will become old & vanish when it's time comes.
