X Class mirrors and rear shock spring

- In this video I go over the new mirrors that I'm trying out. I also show how to change the rear shock spring on the bike. The shock itself is good but the spring is way to stiff so I changed it to a softer spring and wow did it make a difference in the ride. Sorry that the audio isn't as crisp as usual, but my mic didn't connect and it's just the mic on the go pro.
Update:
Well after commuting on the bike for a few days I can definitely feel an improvident in the ride , it's softer and not so jarring. it allows the suspension to actually work and absorb the bumps in the road and sidewalk cracks. for my 200+ pounds the 550lb spring is great.

Another informative and interesting video. Thank You. I learn something new about the x-class each time you post. Keep 'em coming..
Thank you for that. It's why I do these videos, hopefully people can learn from my experiences. Sometimes the mods are great and sometimes they are not so great, lol. I try to be honest about them and I'm not afraid to admit when things are not what I hoped for.
I’m loving the mob’s
Thanks Mr Greg, I'll have to have one of those springs. Thanks for the link too!
It really made a difference in the ride, it softened it up quite a bit and it's not so harsh now. In the link you'll notice the springs come in different weights. The 550 is good for my 210+ pounds. But a lighter rider could go with a lighter spring. What else is important is the shock length. Measure yours just to be safe, eye to eye length. I went with the 165mm length.
I can’t wait to see your new seat.
Yeah me too! Lol. I'm starting to gather the materials and kinda working out the design in my head.
Excellent video! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for this video buddy....
I hope all is well
THX FOR SHARING!
I'm interested to see the saddle mod. I know how to use a sewing machine and thought about making a custom saddle for mine.
Cool, I'll definitely be posting as I make progress on this. I'm currently sourcing materials and trying to nail down a design for the cover.
Well after commuting for a few days I can definitely feel an improvement in the ride. It's softer and not so jarring without being to soft and spongy. For my 200+ lbs the 550lb spring is great.
That what I need for my x class, do you have the link for the spring?
You cant get just the spring, you have to get the whole shock. The link is in the description.
So was the 550lb spring the best spring for you or would you have gone lighter/heavier? Which would you suggest for a 240lb rider?
I think it's right in the sweet spot. Any lighter and it would be too soft I think. It really softened up the ride and I can actually feel the suspension working now. Any lighter and for my weight it might bottom out on the big bumps. When I originally set it up I was just under 220, I've lost some weight since then and I'm just under 200 now and it still feels good. Also keep in mind that I commute on this bike with a top box and my lunch, thermos, etc goes in the box so that's another 10 lbs ish. I hope this answers some of your concerns. I think you'll be ok with a 500 to 550 lb spring.
Love the video...wanted to get the brand of that tank bag? Please share...Thank you.
It's an anmeilu brand tank bag that I purchased on Amazon. If you watch one of the assembly videos I did with the accessories I may have put a link in for it.
I just bought a new spring
Very cool. Mine made a big difference in the ride quality. How many pounds is the new spring rated?
