This doesnt seem accurate at all. You take sit bones imprint while sitting perfectly upright whith straight back when your bones are at their widest mesurement. Then you advise to add 3-4cm if your riding position is upright? Why? If im cycling on a City bike my bones are not wider than they were while sitting on that stool taking the mesurement. This logic can lead to picking a saddle wider than it should be. If you were taking the bone width mesurement in an aggresive position then sure add 3cm for an upright riding but what you suggest makes no sense at all
Hello, thank you for your message. You are right, the contact between a chair and the saddle is pretty much the same and the distance between the sit bones does not change. However, with the saddle we have the task of reducing the pressure on the perineal area as much as possible and distributing the weight directly to the bony structures. That is why we add another 3 cm for the upright sitting position, as the aim is to distribute as much body weight as possible on the saddle and still relieve the perineal area. In an upright riding position, most of the "seat flesh" (left and right of the bone) still rests on the saddle - while the perineal area should remain free. If this were not on the saddle because the saddle is too narrow, the entire body weight would be borne solely by the bones. In addition, there would be enormous pressure on the edges, which would press at the end. That is why another 3-4 cm are calculated here. You don't just sit on your bones when you sit on a chair. We hope it is now comprehensible :)

What is the name of the female model? Model agency? Or is she a cycle athlete? Who made the commercial?
