50/50 is the only movie that has made me cry since I was diagnosed with cancer. This movie is now my new favorite and for all the friends and family of people who have cancer I saw "Watch and learn from this movie" people run away when the going gets tough and all a cancer patient needs is someone to stick around and be there for them. Please just do that and I promise you they will be happier and feel better.
I drove around the U.S. in 2012 with 4 friends in an old Saab. 8000 miles in 3 weeks. I listened to this and church of pines every night going to sleep in a tent under the stars. Best time of my life. Truly magical stuff.
Spectacular. Life is a trip. I'm 40, and have seen my share of ups and downs. If I could give you one piece of advice, when you find someone who loves you completely with their whole self, don't ever let go of that.
since we're all talking about 50/50, i thank that movie soooo much... not only was it terrific but it introduced me to liars, one of the greatest bands EVER.
The guy on the right makes me inexplicably happy. Just the way he's sort of standing there, kind of uncomfortable, but still sort of spirited and good-natured, and then looking like he's all deep in thought, which is just like me when I hear this song, sort of brought to a stop and thinking over pretty much anything.
Prayers for you and your family. Nothings is stronger than God and his healing power and unconditional love, that same love that you have with your family. I hope you are doing well. You're never alone, you never were. Bless
The movie "Deadgirl" is one of the most awesome movies of its kind that I have watched... And that song of the "Liars" in the end of the movie smashes!!! It rules!!! Theese guys, that movie... They kick ass!!! Watch it, listen it!!!
damn!! im amazed at the perfection of this song. I usually listen to metal and electronic music, but discovered this song thanks to 5050 and i just feel out of this world every time i listen to it. Most amazing guitar and simple lyrics ive heard in months!
i remember the exact moment i first heard this song. my world was falling apart and i had such a heavy pain in my chest. looking back now that i’m healed, i don’t think i can ever endure such pain as that. you live and you learn and i’m forever thankful for each experience i was put in to make me the person i am today. i like the new me and i don’t think i’m ever gonna leave her.
"You're doing it now? And how long does it last? How do you know it's going to last long enough so I wont wake up in the middle of the surgery....or that you make sure i'm going to wake up after...mom?" Powerful.
I never knew that they were connected!! Wow. When I first heard Maps I had never heard of the YYYs but the song struck a strong chord with me and I listen to it to this day. And then I heard this song when I watched 50/50 and was pretty destroyed by it. To know the songs are connected - blows my mind and makes perfect sense
My best pal, Dexter, a Savannah cat died yesterday.. I can’t explain the connection I had w him. He was so so so special and dear to my heart. He was right next to me every second after my brother passed in 2016 from am overdose. Dexter had a heart attack, his heart finally gave out after 7 yearsThey gave him 6 months to live, 7 years ago.. he was a fighter and a champion. He had the biggest heart (I mean literally) of any feline that every doctor I took him to, had seen. He was loved so dearly. I have 300 songs on my playlist and sometimes when I turn in my car it plays a random song from shuffle, and other times my phone doesn’t even connect for some reason. As soon as I got into the car today, I was thinking about him, and instantly this song came on… Rest In Peace dexter… you’ll always be my lil guy
This song just makes me think of Deadgirl. That final crawling shot. How messed up I felt in that moment, sitting watching it at 4am on some random cable channel. Thank you Liars for this gem
I did something similar for my cat Bobby who passed away recently, except the song was Wet Sand by RHCP. Your reminder of these parallel human experiences brought the tears back again. Thanks for sharing. :')
This song carried me through one of the hardest times in my life Edit: I wanted to add to this as I just listened to this song again for the first time in 2 years. I don't listen to it often because when I do the memories and the pain I felt during that time all come back to me. In 2012 I made some bad decisions and was expelled from high school as a sophomore. Because I lived in a strict Christian household, I thought my parents were going to disown me, and I heavily considered suicide. I had watched recently watched 50/50, and I remembered this song playing as the main character was going through one of the scariest moments of his life. There's something so reassuring about it; it made me feel like everything was going to be okay, that no matter how lost I was "I could always be found." Afterwards I was diagnosed with depression, and realized that was the root of my issues, and I was able to get the help I needed, and surprisingly, I became much closer with my parents. People often make the statement that "music saved them" and I always thought that was a bit dramatic but I really think this song saved my life.
I lost my cousin, who I was close with like a brother, to suicide. This was the first song I heard the day after it happened. I can’t listen to it without sobbing
Deadgirl was By far, this is the most indifferent movie about Vampires i have ever had the pleasure to watch. Very inventive and imaginative. Bloody love the ending cats. DID not see that one coming. Truly. Enjoy!
Having just lost my sister to cancer, this movie hit me hard, as did this particular song. Her cancer started in her colon and it went to her liver and her brain. She died within 1 month of her diagnosis and she had lost all sight 2 weeks prior to her death. She didn't want to be placed in a hospice center. She wanted to be at home with me...….I honored her wishes and I was by her side when she took her last breath. RIP my seester."I won't run far I won't run far I won't run far I can always be found I can always be found If you need me If you need me If you need me I can always be found I can always be found If you want me to stay If you want me to stay If you want me to stay I will stay by your side I will stay by your side I will stay by your side I won't run far I won't run far I won't run far I can always be found I will stay by your side And I want you to find me So, I'll stay by your side If you need me If you need me If you need me I can always be found I can always be found I can always be found I won't run far I won't run far I won't run far I can always be found I can always be found I can always be found"
You know, this song makes me happy, relaxed. It's kind of elementary with brash vocals overlapping, random melodies in the back an irregular drum beat. I feel it dampens the message the song is sending, letting us know that they're acknowledging that they won't be there forever, but are still appreciative. I've been at peace with the fact that I will eventually die ever since my late teens. This song reminds me of the first time I wrote that I was okay with death. Till then, I guess it's all about figuring out what this living thing is all cracked up to be. (love 50/50. Escaped a lot of hairy situations in life. I felt a lot of resemblance of Adam in myself, as well as his humor)
Holy shit just rediscovered this song ~13 years after the first time i heard it seeing 50/50 in theaters with my mom who'd literally been diagnosed with liver cancer inDec 2011.... We laughed and cried our fuckin hearts out, seeing the parallels and the true reality laid out in front of us on the big screen She passed May 2014 RIP Catherine Moonlight you were the best mother i could have ever asked for. ✨🦸🏽♀️
I miss the old original video! With the ball hopping through the house. it fits so perfect ;_____; and the song is just os sad that i have to repeat it over and over.
such a beautiful song. it sings to my soul and hopefully one day i will have that person that i can lean on know that they'll be there for me when i need them. someone who truly cares. but for now i have this song. this song (along with many others) brings both comfort and tears

I met one my closest friends, lover & soul mate at a Liars show in 2006 when this album came out. This was always our song, cause after breaking up we. would go months or a year not speaking, but we were always easy to find when needed. Sadly she was in a deadly car accident killing my other close friend/ her husband of only a month & leaving her almost paralysed. She has to learn to walk again & the doctors told her that her husband is still alive in the next room until after the surgery they will let her know the truth. Depression from losing her husband can kill her they said. I understand, but so sad. I can't believe this is my life right now.

So beautiful and understated lyrically, instrumentally and melodically. “And I want you to find me” the yearning in his voice on that line is just heartbreaking. Gorgeous.

I never cried watching any movies but this 50-50 made me cried at the surgery scence
I know right. when he just broke down, knowing that, it might be his last chance of living healthy...
Or just living at all. :(
I'm the only one in my family who appreciated it.
Oh I heard it on Dead Girl
@@Gooniiee yes how he hugged his mother :'(
When this song kicks in, in 50/50 and he panickingly says “Mom?” It sets me off every time ;(
It already had me set off when he told his dad that he loves him. And then, yes, when he said “Mom?” I absolutely fell apart. What a touching movie.
It reminds me of me every time.
Alistair MacRae its a gut wrenching scene
Liv Calatro thats an understatement. Destroys me every time
That is the scene that got me into tears too, plus this song...I loved it.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt is such an amazing actor - he made that movie seem so realistic!!
Plus that songs melancholy is mesmerizing
50/50 brought me here....great movie...
since we're all talking about 50/50, i thank that movie soooo much... not only was it terrific but it introduced me to liars, one of the greatest bands EVER.
