I rode the 390RR last May during demo day at Durhamtown which had some fast fire roads and some semi tight woods trails that were powder dry . I ride and race a KTM 300 EXC . I love the 390 . It soaked up everything at every speed . It has enough grunt to ride a gear high thus avoiding fatigue then pulls fast and hard when its time to go . I could race this bike right out of the box . The 350 worked me harder than I'd like to make race speed but I am a B level rider . An A rider could fly on either .

Mark Housley you know I had the same experience! I put down a slightly faster lap on the 350 but I paid the price. That 390 was just so easy to ride. I could have kept that pace all day..

Love the videos. I'm waiting for a demo day near me so I can ride them. I'm looking for a dual sport, not going to race at all. Seems to me the choice for me is between the 390 and the 500. These test rides you did both helped me and made it harder for me to choose. 😁 Do I want the light feel of the 390 or do I want the extra power from the 500? Choices, choices.... 😛

I’m in same boat. Have a 200rr for more ST trails. Looking for a DS as well.
    Can’t decide 390 or 500?!?!

You looked more comfortable on the 390 over the 430. You seemed a little tentative on the 430. My upcoming demo ride is this Saturday but will be after Thanksgiving before I can post.

Have you considered the standard 350RR-S, and not the race edition. Could be a good balance, just not as comfortable on the open road as the longer stroked 390cc

Yea thats the trick. finding the prefect balance of Racable performance, and road worthiness. I had thought about getting the 350RR version and converting it to street legal. Or getting the 390, and doing build your own bike to get the KYB suspension. Im still unsure which direction to go it to be honest.

@@GladiusJon I have a 2017 350rr race edition and its awesome! But I have never street ridden it. The dealer I got to check over the bike before I bought it, was dual sporting a 2018 350 and really enjoying it. Guess it depends if you want a race bike, that you can ride to the start line, or a bike more comfotable on the road, that you can also single track on. You still feeling the 430RR though? Looked to be good at tractoring over trail trash, and would still be great out on the open road

Would you consider the 390 for long rides, i.e, Baja. Is the 350 more nible and lighter feeling. I’m not a big guy and don’t want to haul a heavy bike around on a long ride. I have a 2020 300 now and it is a Gorgeous beast, but limited range - looking for something light, but in 4T to tackle some long rides.. thx

Tchai Quentin 350 / 390 is a 100-200 mile type of bike. The 500 is way more suited for Baja, Or Trans American trail. The 350 felt slightly heavier then my 17 300. I would not hesitate for a second to do gnarly single track , rocks, hare scrambles, Enduro or trials on the 350. The 390 I think would be limited slightly when it comes to the most extreme riding you would normally do on a 300. Such as tractor tires, enduro / Jarvis type stuff. But it will be better mannered on the road. 70 mph highway stents shouldn’t punish it as bad as the 350.

What can be done/what parts are available to increase horsepower on the 390 to get it more race ready to battle hopped up GNCC & Desert Hare Scramble 350cc+ 4ts like Ktms, Yamahas, Hondas, Kawasakis etc.???
It looks oh so sweet, and I already own a new TM Racing EN300ES 2t, so to have another Italian bike like the Beta would be great!
