Best video I've seen. Couldn't agree more that we get all the big baits pushed in our face. The price of groundbait nowadays is an outrage alone. Really enjoyed the video. Thanks 👍
Some nice fishes. Aldi are a great supplier of fishing baits and additives, along with the local tackle shop. One bait that has saved the day, occasionally, on flooded rivers is lob worm.
my best net of barbel 130 lb two doubles 20 fish all on worm .put 10 balls of soil loaded with worm n micros . i think conditions are more important than bait sometimes
Luke Hollinrake very possibly, my best day was in a weir pool on the boat and I landed 31 barbel, 8 over 9lbs and the rest 7’a and 8’s. I had to stop fishing because my arm’s couldn’t take any more, if only GoPros came 10 years sooner.
vincent bellamy it’s the coated stuff with about 1” stripped back at the eye of the hook to allow movement, works a treat even it is a little pricey, but I wish I had found it sooner because I lost some good fish on 12lb flouro (different brands), you will not be disappointed if you give it a go.
Jacob Bate shouldn’t be an issue at all, don’t get me wrong, you don’t want to cast a full 6 oz feeder to the far side of the tidal but if you are needing to use 6-8oz you aren’t casting very far anyway. I must admit being a lure and bait angler I cast some pretty heavy weights and I am surprised how easily a 1.75 can cast the weights they do with ease.
Nice video but sorry to be negative as you say fishing on a budget? How much is your gear? How much for your travel? How much for your day ticket? Everyone can get hold of cheap bait. So after counting everything up it's not really fishing on a budget.
petemason57 hi Pete, sorry if the title is misleading, it’s more to do with bait rather than the equipment, travel and day tickets. The main point is that we get boilies, dips and pastes pushes into our faces in the media but you don’t need them to catch big barbel.
Another good informative video. Good honest hard working fishermen sharing advice and tips. Top man .
Mark Rose Cheers Mark 👍

Best barbel video I've seen in a while.
Brad thank you for that Brad, if my GoPro hadn’t of packed in while I was in Ibiza I could have shown some epic scraps but that’s sorted now 👍
@@AdyWoodchucker Haha I've packed in when I've been in Ibiza a few times! Keep it up mate.

Jorvik Angler funnily enough this weekend I had one of the bailiffs on the Wharfe hunting high and low to find me a few worms 😂
@@AdyWoodchucker Did he find you any? I had an 8lb'er on the Wharfe last week to worm.
What session, great to see you put all the fads to shame with the old school stuff. Great vid matey 👍
Cheers Steve :)
Super technique top angling 🎣🎣👍👍
Paul pard cheers Paul 👍
nice one mate, you can't beat cheap👍🎣😁
Mark Carp cheers Mark, I am just fed of seeing all these fancy baits when basic baits can give similar results 👍

Hi Ady
Great video, what make are the feeders you use,
Cheers Ian
Hi Ian,
Thank you for the kind words, the feeders are Fiskys fantastic feeders (FFF), if you search on facebook for Paul Fisk he will sort you out.
Aldi bait is the best :P nice catches. I might target these dumbbel fish some time although I am not that patient sitting on the bank waiting :p
White Rose Adventures it’s definitely not for you Thomas, you and flooding water are not a good combination 😂

Ady, I couldn't quite get what make of feeders you were using.
Ian Foley the feeders are called Fiskys fantastic feeders. If you type it in google you should find them easy enough 👌
Hi Ady
Great video are your 20lb ESP tungsten hook length coated or uncoated? If uncoated would it not be prone to tangles.?

Thank you much appreciated
vincent bellamy let me know how you get on with it if you give it a go 🎣🎣👍
Hi ady how much wood could a would chuck would if a would could chuck chuck would ?

Bang on pal!!
Reg Reg cheers buddy 👍
Good video.
Mark Elliott Cheers Mark 👍
Great video, are you not making pike videos with that other guy any more?
Punctured Lung No buddy, that relationship had run its course but don’t worry it’s all about Pike fishing going forward 👍
Ady Woodchucker look forward to it, your videos are spot on.
6oz feeders with a 1.75tc rod? Did I hear that correct?
Jacob Bate not a problem at all, and not only feeders, I use up to 8oz leads in flood.
@@AdyWoodchucker alright, I was about skeptical about fishing that heavy with my 2lbs TC so think I'll give it a go on the trent!

Thanks, do you fish a dayticket or club stretch?
Jacob Bate some of the video was made on Leeds AA stretches and one section was fiskerton which is a day ticket.
hi ady nice vid did you say them feeders are FRISKYS feeders what web site are they on please
Alan Richardson hi Alan, if your on Facebook add Paul Fisk, he is the legend behind the feeders. You will not be disappointed.
cheers ady
Alan Richardson my pleasure 👍
Looks like Fiskerton.
Stu Crossland spot on 😉

@@AdyWoodchucker Thanks for the reply. I very rarely buy bait now and prefer to use home made products. Never used boilies as hate the carp scene.
petemason57 ands barbel fishing to me in a nutshell 👍
