you deserve way more subs, you work so hard and are the best!! btw goldenhearts is a rly good name for a golden retriever website, it describes them while being easy to spell too
The last tip (no. 14) brought tears. We are really lucky to have a Golden in our lives. ❤
I’ve had golden retrievers for almost 30 years; they are worth every bit of extra housework I’ve had to do!! We love them like our own children! And they reduce stress! When my husband was going through dental school, he said coming home to our goldens actually reduced his stress from the school work load. We’ve never regretted having them in our home:). If you’re going to get one, please please be committed to keeping them in the house with you! Don’t crate them either; they are so eager to please and easy to train. Their ability to love is incredible and their antics are more entertaining than Netflix (and I love Netflix)!! But please don’t be harsh with them; it’ll break their spirit.
My husband got me my first golden puppy when I was 26; I’ve treasured each and every one that has graced our home since! My husband is so careful with their health ( vitamins, distilled water, special food, you name it) that all our goldens live to be 16! They’re just wonderful!!! But be committed to their best welfare before getting one!!
A golden lover❤️❤️
❤
I'd love to know more! Why no crates? I don't have one YET but we met a breeder and are really considering getting one for myself and younger kids. Husband doesn't particularly want any pets but promised I could get one so I think I've decided on an English cream golden that our friends Breed here in Colorado. I'm just so nervous about the puppy/dog chewing the entire house up or going on the floor too often during training etc. I'm home 24/7 with my children so puppy would be supervised most all the time and we have a fenced in yard but how do I train and trust the dog when we are out and about for a few hours not to be naughty or mischievous? Isn't that where a crate would be handy? Or even at night time when the house is theirs to roam, I'm afraid something would happen and my husband would get upset. Please I'll accept any and all advice! KIND ADVICE... give me your best tips!
@@emilyscott2109 Hi Emily! You might consider getting some good books on goldens-training and health tips for them.
Don’t worry about night time, they generally follow your routine so they should sleep soundly.
When you’re out and about during the day, it would be ideal to have a room in your house that has a doggy door to a fenced in area of your yard that they can use as their bathroom. We have a room off our laundry room that is the doggy room with a dog door that goes to a medium to large fenced in yard. That way they can be inside for inclement weather but also have access to their yard for their business. One of my goldens is very old (vet said she was 113 human years!), her name is Lily. She’s an English line, too! She has beautiful white blonde hair! As she is old, we’re ver careful w her! She has had some upset tummy issues so if I’m gone she can easily access the outdoors. They are really intuitive animals; they do not want to destroy their environment where they live w you indoors neither do they want to poop in it!! As for their feet, when my younger golden has been outside playing I always give him a light snack and clean his paws with a bucket of water. He lifts his paws for me while I wash each one!!! It’s just so adorable!!! And I never trained him to do that. They watch YOU and conform to what you’re trying to accomplish!! They’re just incredibly intuitive!!!
They have a large capacity for understanding language; it’s really amazing!!! My husband can tell our young, rambunctious male golden “go find mommy” and he dutifully trots off to find me. My husband has changed the wording many times and Marley understands the new words and sentence structures and STILL trots off to find me!😂 Now, of late, my husband told me he whispers my Christian name (Nancy) and Marley knows Hal wants him to go find me!
We are pretty easily entertained so we have a lot of laughs w them:)
Now the breeder issue. This is very important. Find a good one. Our last one took my husband 6 months to narrow it down to the best. A place that loves goldens and treats them with the dignity this animal deserves. My husband is also involved with the golden retriever rescue mission in Oklahoma City. Also, start w one so you and your children will bond w that new little puppy. You can add another later and then your first one will train the second one!! It’s important that they’re not EVER on a chain or left in a yard. They live to be with their pack which will be your family. I had a golden who would lay by my daughter‘s crib and when she would cry, he would come get me!! Again, never taught Gus to do that!! They’re naturally intuitive!! They know what’s important to you!!!
Your life will be blessed!!
If you want to chat on the phone more and trouble shoot training problems, I’d be glad too!! Just message me here and I can give you my number!
Best of luck to you!!

Not knowing how bad the shedding will be to deal with, is the only thing making me wonder if we should finally get a Golden Retriever
Many people say the love you get in exchange is well worth it.
Your honesty and heart are to be admired. I hope you will look at the dogs/breeds that are generally limited shedders.
A Golden, Labrador, Shepherd etc.
are non-stop shedders.
Though we found a major difference in the shedding of the GR vs Labrador shedding IS a big deal. It is OK to delay to find a good fit of the breed for you and your family.
Same, the breed is perfect for our family in every way, just very nervous about trying to keep up with the shedding and maintenance of all the hair in the house with also having 4 smaller kids to take care of. But I really do love brushing their hair.
@@emilyscott2109 Update: we did actually get a Golden Retriever in the end. She's 10 months old. There is quite a bit of shedding. We have an open kitchen living room and we put child gates to separate, she stays in the kitchen. It's alot easier to clean when she's only in one room and not on couches etc. During the day she's mostly running around outside.
It's bad... it's very bad... this video makes it seem so doable but cleaning up after my golden is a part time job.
Presently I'm very down and out because I lost my golden pup to parvo. But I'll surely get another one. I was really looking forward to make her a j huge part of my family.
I'm so sorry to hear that!
thank you so much man I just got a 5 month old golden retriever 😁
O really! I just got a 3 month golden retriever
How is he/she now?
Thank u
I was your 1000 like ☺️❤️
Thank you!!
I love golden retrievers
I love brushing a golden.
Do you also BLOG? Cuz I swear I've heard this exact tips word for word. Even at the end when you said "...remember how lucky you are that one of these beautiful animals graces your home"
@Golden Hearts I've seen on UA-cam several videos that say feed your dog a raw food diet, could alleviate skin and some hyper-activity problems. Would a raw food diet take care of the hot spots Goldens have?
I love brushing my Golden
I love brushing my golden, I’m going to get one soon😄
Me too ! I am so excited
Me too!!!!!!

One thing that could help to reduce insanity is to have a different every day clothes that it’s ok to have hair with you. I love black color clothing and it’s not a good color to wear when you want to hug your fur baby GR. Wear something different or maybe a different fabric that doesn’t get the hair. Wether we like it or not, dog’s hair will be part of our our life. They provide us love and happiness, that will compensate it.
I love brushing my golden 🤎
I love brushing my golden! (I really do) lol
What shampoo do you use
How often can an undercoat rake be used ?
I love brushing my golden maverick
Hey!!!
I had a question.....can we make them wear the dog clothes so that the shedding from the covered portions get reduced😂
HAHAHAHA i have already try it
it helps but only a couple days :( because the clothes will also get covered in fur
I have a golden puppy he is beautiful I get his food from vet I don't know what type of brush to use for him I got tee tree oil shampoo for dogs I hope this is OK for him.
I love brushing my dog
Get a good brush designed for goldens double coats.
I love my golden
Yeah!!
My dogs name is Golden , and yes , he is a Golden retriever 😝
Cute!
Great Work. it's early morning for me! let's be youtube partners x3
My golden has really dry fur and he always goes into the lake and it’s really dirty I get so mad because I try to make him clean and then he stays dirty like always what can I do ? I never saw a golden like mine he has really dry fur and tbh his fur is kinda ugly and I feel guilty what can I do
My golden retriever has the same problem! He is mixed w another breed so his hair is so thick and gets nasty and nappy and hard to brush and im still looking for ways to smoothen his hair out
Timmy Turner thanks god I thought I was the only one ! My golden is not mixed with other breed but he lives in a farm majority of the time that’s why his fur is like that ! U should use dog conditioner and put like a little bit of coconut oil on his daily food hopefully that works
Salmón oil- put drops in their food
Hi people my name is Hannah Rose Carter and I have three German shepherds two females Maya and lilee one male Juno they shed a lot my experience is working with dogs training them and grooming them I have a dog brush that takes off lots of fer
Compared to our Labradors, especially our amazing, once in a lifetime Canadian Lab, the GR has been ever so acceptable. ❤
I need help! My mom has allergies and I really want one! Any tips for that?
Well, you could get rid of your mom!
@@acsoriacm lol
I rescued my golden and her old "family" used to shave her all the time, so her coat is all over the place 😭
Tip 14!!!!
Feed your golden retriever two eggs, vegetables mixed with rice and chicken and curd daily this will stop shedding.
??? Seriously???
The brush is not available through the Amazon link. Can you recommend another brush?
this brush is great: amzn.to/3dXrqUD
Thank you so much! I just ordered it. My 18 yr old grandson has a just turned 2 yr old Golden. His name is Zeke and because he doesn’t get enough activity, he is a juvenile delinquent lol. But you can’t help but fall in love with him. Problem is, he has zero training, and I get to babysit next month for 2 wks. You see, I’m 67 and frail, and Zeke is a 100 lb pulling machine on a leash. Wish me luck.
Thank you so much for your videos. They are amazing!
@@thymenabottle2515 Typical 2-year-old golden! Have fun!
My Golden Ret only emits furry dusts
wanna breed my golden with your golden
My parents wont let me get a golden because they say its too big and sheds
Trying to convince my mum and dad to get one anyone got any tips 😂
"Other dogs with shorter wiry coats are harder to clean up after." Huh? The exact opposite. Long, fluffy, light fur is much harder to clean than short, heavier fur.
😡 😤 🤬....The shedding 😡 😤 🤬
It's a lot!!
