Where did Wendy get her puppy? I was just wondering because I’m getting a puppy soon and they also do training before hand and when she said they already Did crate training I was thinking maybe they could be from the same place.
For sure. I’ve had a few huskies and man it’s no joke them being labeled #1 HARDEST breed to train. So bad to the point training a golden retriever puppy feels like a piece of cake haha.
I have a Golden who's already two. He's easy to train. I got him when he was 8 weeks old. After 2 months, he's completely potty trained. Crate training is a must. BUT one thing to consider about Goldens, they're so mouthy. Mine took awhile to stop being mouthy. Be consistent with your pup and set boundaries. And most of all, love and cherish your puppy. Take plenty of pics, they grow so fast!
German shepherds and golden retrievers make the best doggie siblings. They complement each other’s personalities so well. That’s what I’ve got. The best of friends
Meark Baow same bro I can’t believe that my mom is scared of a dog. Like I’ll take care of it for at least 50%. My mom just hates pets and I am the complete opposite
I have had dogs of all breeds my entire life. The Golden is a unique breed, extremely intelligent and eager to please. Devoid of aggression and likely to embrace and lick a burgler coming into the home. I've remedied that tho, I bought a female Rottie.
@Pro Justice So the reason why puppies should be left with the litter at least 8-12 weeks is they learn from their siblings how to interact properly with one another. i.e. good bite/bad bite. In your case exercise the puppy to expend his energy. More relaxed after exercise. Don't hit the dog! A pinch on the side jowl provides correction from unwanted behavior. This simulates what the mother (dog) would do. Give it time, its a puppy. Golden puppies need exercise!
The soft frisbees work fantastic. My Golden is 4 months and 1 week old. I have had him for 5.5 weeks and in that time frame I have taught him to retrieve his frisbee, drop it at my feet and he’s ready to go again. After about 10 throws, he’s ready for a puppy nap. 🤣. Love the soft frisbees with the rubber rim. Got mine at petsmart.
@@sydinmargiela she's great, 22lbs and a damn handful! She's still working through her puppy biting which is getting old fast, it's possible to play with her a tussle with her breaking the skin at some point. I'm doing what I can to work with her and avoid that behavior. Lately I've been just letting her bite her toys until she's calmed down some then I'll play with her hands on. It's been a lot of work on mine and her part. I work 8 hours a day so she's usually alone in her play pen with her toys. However she's adjusted to the schedule pretty well, she sleeps most of the day or plays in her pen and when I get home we play fetch for a good hour to get that energy out before dinner lol.
@@milliescarrots_5472 Actually, we did. The golden retriever was bred to retrieve shot waterfowl, and they did particularly well at that because of their soft mouths. Please really really consider this decision. I was told that Goldens is great and loving. Mine is terrible. She's aggressive, stubborn, and not loving at all. She destroyed every single thing I've gotten in my living room and patio. Even my other dog's dog bed and crate was destroyed by her. She never stopped destroying anything. Praise and "target words" are very important when they get it right. Using just "no" ( or no no no) while moving the puppies to the right place if they start an accident sets up that as a target word for other unwanted behaviors. Constant supervision is the key

I've had golden retrievers for years. I Currently have a 13 year old, Pippa and a 7 month old puppy called Luna. Crate training is a tried and tested training method and I would never discourage it. Im 55 , got my first Golden when I was about 9 . Have owned puppies , rescues , partially grown , Hunters , lap dogs the entire gambit.... I have an 8 week old right now thats about twice the size of a regular 8 week old. The second I hear Gate or crate I hear , Dont want to be bothered...Ive talked to owners over the years that stuck em in the crate then stuck the crate in the basement or another room where you cannot hear the whining... So right from the start , you go and collect your puppy from the breeder where he/she was surrounded by its siblings constantly and was never alone as well as being in a familiar place . You take the dog , drive it home , gate it off to separate it from you and then stick it in a crate so that you can get a nice peaceful night of sleep. Sounds like a great deal for at least half of the equation here.... If you didnt want to be bothered why did you get a dog in the first place ? I can assure you the night time fun you have with a puppy is nothing compared to 5 thousand Dollar TPLO surgeries and being up all night with that or the many other things that come with older dogs... I guess we should just stick them in a box as well so that we arent bothered with those issues.. If you had a baby would you bring it home from the hospital and lock it in a crate and then go sleep nice and sound ? Or better yet , you adopted a child from a family who is trusting you to supply everything they did before you took it...So you brought it home and locked it in a cage and went to sleep.... Again , I am 55 , I have heard all of the arguments made by people over the crate since the inception of them . Excuses is what I hear.... Having been cradle to grave with quite a few Goldens over the years , the puppy phase is nothing compared to what you face in its entire life. Youve just ripped a baby from everything that its ever known , its mother , its siblings . Get up in the night and take it out , enjoy the puppy zoomies that are making you crazy in the front yard at 3AM as I was doing just this past night as I was freezing. Form a bond immediately with this dog and live up to the bond you took it from... Or , just leave it there... Tik Tok and youtube and all of this social media has caused this huge Golden come back . Fact is most of the people buying them shouldnt have them . This is evidenced in the amount of dogs that end up in shelters or passed off a few times only to land in a kill shelter later because it developed issues (Yes , ive owned a couple of those too).
This is crazy helpful! My professor breeds Goldens and she's giving me a discount (useful for a 16-year-old) and the pups will be born and ready in two months so I've been preparing!
So the question is number 12. When you do catch the puppy in the act of going inside and you spirit them outside, do you quickly carry them outside, or make them walk outside?
I am getting Sofia in two weeks. She is two weeks old. This video is great. I am retired do this helpful on how to work with her. I have 5 acres so I looking forward to having her around.

Ahh! That sounds so exciting
My parents are talking about getting my a golden! As long as I take care of him it going to be a boy! I have to train him but my parents said they would get me anything I needed to train him! I’m so excited
i wish I could get a golden but it’s pretty hard
how did it go?? we are just about to get our golden retriever puppy and I will be the one out of my fam to do most of the traning but my parents are happy to help and do anything they can! do u have any tips at all?
@@alexandrasmyth5234 it went so well! He is a really good dog! I’d say try to be patient and do as much research as possible! We got him a collar it doesn’t shock him it vibrates, and he actually likes wearing it! Also don’t be afraid to ask for help! We got him a trainer and it took abt 5 training sessions and he was sooo good! We trained him a bit before that tho!
I got a golden retriever puppy about a month and a half ago!! He is great!
Congratulations on your new four-legged family member, Orianna Eliza! Have fun with your pup. Happy Training! ~Ken
Im planning on adopting a little Goldie, i do have experience caring for a dog as a teenager. (Family dog) But i never had the full responsibility. Im 25 now, and i want to educate myself and prepare myself as much as possible. I want to give the best home as much as possible.
I cant wait to have a best friend 😭 I connect with dogs more than i do with people. ❤🎉
I have been wanting a golden retriever since I was 12 i am 19 now ☹️😭 I’ll definitely get one once I get my own place 😊😘

I am going to get my golden retriever puppy on my birthday just 72 days!! Yay
Thank you
I am getting a golden retriever so this was helpful
Very cute goldens are very soft and cuddly. 😊
Golden’s are definitely a soft and cuddly breed, Thorn! Thanks for watching! ~Ken
Omgosh the golden puppy here is soooo cute

Excellent questions. Everything I wanted answered 😊Thanks for a great video!
This is crazy helpful! My professor breeds Goldens and she's giving me a discount (useful for a 16-year-old) and the pups will be born and ready in two months so I've been preparing!
Master 0f Tactics how much is your professor selling? I’ve been looking for a breeder for quite a while. And where?
@@rayan8764
She hasn't given me a definite price yet, but I know for a fact it'll be under 800$.

Jacksonville, FL.
Master 0f Tactics I live in Jax, Fl. Do you know if your professor will have any available puppies? I am highly interested
@@squizzle7210 Hm.. I'm unsure. With school out, I haven't talked to her about much except science or chemistry.
So the question is number 12. When you do catch the puppy in the act of going inside and you spirit them outside, do you quickly carry them outside, or make them walk outside?
I get my golden puppy on the 18th of this month!! I’m so excited. Thanks for this video !
