Direct coombs test How many times I read in books, I couldn't remember the difference between DCT & ICT Now I'll remember, very nicely explained...thank you sir
Thank you a million times for this video. You deserve all the best of life. I have never understood this test since my school days so much that I remember what it means after reading. I'm very grateful for this video
I am inspiring to your explanation sir. Thank you so much for your explanation. Answer: Direct Antiglobulin test. Reason: To detect the presence or absence of a Red blood cell lysis. Observation: Positive result: Agglutination present Negative result; No Agglutination.
Direct antigen test, since during AB mediated haemolysis reaction, antibody is already present on patient red cells, so any positive reaction confirm the presence of antibody directed against patient red cells, control test is used for confirming if the positive results are due to foreign antigen(should show negative), or autoantibodies against self antigen(positive in control test)
Teaching is a skill not all teachers possess. But you DO sir! Thank you!!

Antigen has to attach to RBC to cause hemolysis. So it is found on the RBC. Direct Coomb's rest is used to rest for antigens on RBC surface.
