Nicely said. Arnel certainly saved Journey just a Journey helped Arnel. But the biggest prize was for the fans not just for Journey but for that music era. We now have new younger fans that appreciate the music that will never fade!

In the more softer songs Theres the difference I was talking about Steve Perry is untotchable in these type of songs he writes. Never been a Journey fan but the more you listen the more Perry is by far the voice. This kid has awesome voice on some songs but needs that originality of own. One way he could do it is write some of his own songs or have someone write some if he can't. Elton John had a songwriter, nothing wrong with that. Need something to seperate his self from Perry!

I wish Arnel could sing even close to Steve Perry. He is very fortunate to be able to make a living by keeping the music of Journey alive - and I suppose that is a good enough contribution- no one could match the Voice and singing loud doesn’t mean singing well

He needs to develop his own original voice sounds to much like an imitation of steve perry. It's like all these guys that try to imitate Elvis. Some come close but if you turn your back and close your eyes you can tell the difference right off.
Quite the story , I love Steve Perry, I have decided that it is not cool to sing in a band, and play copycat to the world's greatest singer /songwriter : Steve Perry, this is a slap in the face, I think the band should have gotten new songs, and not banked on Steve Perry's style, voice, songs etc, no one can sing like Steve Perry I revisited many of his songs, posting some of his long notes, he is so incredible. Accept no imitation, Steve Perry is still the VOICE, imitators to make $money$ and use the band as if someone is Steve Perry is not too cool, kinda rude if you care to know how I feel .

@@bluebird0555 I only listen to the old Journey but did catch a few of Arnel's singing, but he is singing Steve Perry's original songs whom Steve Perry wrote and he is only an imitation of Steve Perry. I just think Steve is better, no one can be the original. I suppose the band wanted to bank off Steve Perry's voice more then anything.
@Vigilante, I care to know how you feel and hope what I say will make you feel better. True, Arnel and the band make money out of this, but did you know that out of every sweat from Arnel running out of breath singing on top of his lungs and the other band members effort during tours provided income to Steve Perry for the past 15 years? And 8 years from Augeri? Steve deserves it and he is smart enough to not just let anybody benefit from what he worked hard for without getting something in return. I paid $400 for a ticket to see them live next year and I know some of it will go to Steve Perry. So let’s appreciate what Journey/Arnel are doing. And I’m glad that the band is still around to this day.
If you cannot accept AP in Journey & live in the shadow of Steve Perry, you cannot move on. You can’t always live in the past. And Steve is the past AP is the present. You ought to accept it because Journey is now thriving because of AP. ACCEPT & move ON.. YOU WOULD BE HAPPY IF YOU DO SO.
