Hola desde Costa Rica, I just looked for info on substrate for suculents and found your amazing channel... I happen to have a lofofora since about 8 years ago... never done much for him besides some basic nuts and water... now I see you even have videos on how to take care of mescalito... hope to have fun in your channel...

I live in The north and have a long winter, i use 100% inorganic lava, pumice and zeolite mix. I keep my plants in a sunny window year around at 16+ celsius, i enjoy my plants during wither and lower temperature rooms, would ekspose them to much more humidity in the air, because my heated rooms get dehumidified . Considering supplement lighting this Winther though. Any recommendation for my setup? With best regards :)

also the ph in my tap water are 7,6 think its the highest in the world for tap water and it is some of the worlds purest water with no chlorine, and very high PH so it should buffer the plants ok id think.

Finding coarse sand that i'm sure is not just regular sand (too fine) has been a challenge. Even at nurseries i see them selling play sand

What about a pre-made cactus soil like miracle Gro?

Yes, it will work in a pinch but I would still add coarse sand and limestone into it.

Well I don't exactly know your weather but the obvious would be in spring when it's starting to warm up leading into summer
