Recruiting new talent to become future leaders of our vital industry is a challenge that affects the entire maritime sector. Since its inception in 2019, The NI’s Younger Members’ Council (YMC) has identified that it can sometimes be difficult for younger seafarers to obtain their first onboard assignments, but employing these eager recruits is a great opportunity to play a crucial role in the training of young cadets that will help to develop their early careers and improve their, and also shipping's, future prospects.
