China tried to invade Vietnam. They lost. A few people want to talk about it.

I would think the United Kingdom would also be a force to reckon with. Aside from losing to the US, it hadn’t lost any major wars to anyone else. And not to mention that less than a century ago, the sun did not set on the British Empire.

So what happened in the war of 1812 when Britain was fighting a ferocious Napoleonic war with France?

@@beverlytaff4914 I’m not sure but some man by the name of Napoleon ended up exiled to an island after being defeated by a duke. I do believe the United Kingdom was victorious. You may have to verify and check on that info.

China has not been able to defeat an external enemy in centuries. The last time before the war, was when they tried to invade Vietnam. That did not go very well. The second strongest army in Russia, right now, is Russia.

That's interesting about Russian time zones and climates.

Americans: 331 million people. 400 million guns in civilian hands. Annually kill 40000 of our own. Foreign invaders? You want some of this???

The Vietnam war was only "won" by the Vietnamese because the USA wasn't trying to win. That's a fact. There's a really good film called "The Bright and Shining Lie" that can give you insight into this, but only scratches the surface. What am I talking about? Well, look into the rules of engagement for the Vietnam war. The USA intentionally restricted themselves in order to prolong the conflict. Why would the USA government do this? They didn't write that part down, but their rules of engagement were written down, and that's a cold hard fact! Look into it. Ask yourself why?

I'm skeptical but I am going to look into that. Its just hard for me to believe considering Vietnam was the war with the largest strategic bombing effort in world history: Operation Linebacker, Operation Linebacker II. The sheer weight of ordnance dropped in this Shock and Awe campaign is nearly unbelievable. Even the American POWs were terrified once the Earth started rumbling.

@@SubvertTheState .....yep. The USA spent a lot of money on those bombs.

Yeah our politicians literally gave our military "rules of engagement " because they didn't have balls and wanted to avoid offending the soviets.
