  • I take the new A2 for a mountain trail ride to see how it rides in the mountains and if it can climb to the top of Mt Wilson.

    Something to be said about going at a slower speed is that you can enjoy the scenery rather than it just flashing by when you ride a bigger and faster wheel.

    Hey, Marty! thank you for this wonderful test of this small but rather strong wheel with a toothy tire! I live in Russia in St. Petersburg and I don't have big hills and mountains here! You have a very beautiful place to ski! I really love mountains! I liked this wheel. For a child or for a wife, it is very suitable. And if I want to go to the store, then I definitely need a pull-out handle for transportation! I watch all your new videos and follow all the wheel models! Good luck, and ride safely!

    Thanks for this informative video Marty, we have hilly forest tracks locally here in Scotland too, and the positive attributes of this wheel are indeed of interest for such adventures, without the added weight and subsequent expense that a suspension wheel necessitate. 👏🏻👍🏻

    Your problem with the battery heat is also my solution for riding the Mten4 / A2 in cold temperatures. While batteries does suck some of the heat from the board, they should not get above 45C unless subject to serious climbs during summer weather (thank you for volunteering for that test). However I did notice that during the colder months, the bottom of the metal casing was a bit warmer than surounding air, meaning that cells inside the box were well above 0C (minimum charging temp).
    Looking forward to test-ride the A2!

    Great video with lot's of information. I recently started riding with my 7 year old daughter who mastered an airwheel in about a day. To say she has out grown the wheel is an understatement. I did intend buying her the Mten4 until the A2 surfaced, the test you did as nothing but assured me this is the one for her being a 30kg rider. I don't think we'll see a more comprehensive review than this one as you really put it through it's paces. My mind is made up, ride safe and I look forward to future content. Lack of a trolley handle is my only concern for your user case. There are other small wheels that also have handles. MCM5V2 is similar to this wheel in term of specs, size and weight but it also has nice trolley handle. Unfortunately I don't think they produce them anymore.

    Hi Marty, like all your videos this was both entertaining and interesting. These videos where you start off at a desk and then go to the riding footage and then end up at the desk remind me of the old Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom show from the 70s, only you are both Marlin Perkins and Jim, LOL.

  • @kamencic
    @kamencic 11 місяців тому +2

    I don't know why this wheel is better than good old MCM5v2 800wh besides waterproofing and better light. It's 1kg heavier, it has 1000w (mcm5 has 1500w motor), it has 750wh battery (mcm5 had 800wh option). And MCM5 has a nice trolley handle, which is very important for me. So they made an inferior wheel to MCM5v2 800wh with only advantage in waterproofing and better light and are selling it for approximaterly same price as mcm5 was being sold. And people are buying it and are excited about it as if there never was arguably better option.

    • @ElectricUnicycles
      @ElectricUnicycles  11 місяців тому +2

      I'm not sure if people are buying it. The MCM5 is indeed a very nice wheel. I suppose the biggest noticeable improvement of the A2 over the MCM5 is the much bigger tire. The MCM5v2 has a 2.5-inch wide tire vs the 3+ inch tire on the A2. And the A2 is over 16-inches in diameter. I think the pedals are higher off the ground too (but I don't have an MCM5V2 to measure this and confirm).
      I hear rumors that a new MCM will be released, with suspension. So I wouldn't consider the A2 as a replacement for the MCM. It's just another type of wheel that will appeal to some people.

    That's why the wheel was designed to be thrown in the lake. It's for cooling the battery!

    Not sure why I watched this vid (partly atleast as I confessed I did skip to the end) but I'm not surprised at the warm batt pak. Doubt BG ever contemplated someone taking it for a 4500ft hill climb. Not sure if its a BG fail for not testing such or rider fail here for testing such 😅. Regardless, glad you did this 'test' as I'm fairly certain you'll have the only such A2 climb on record ✌

    Enjoyed this vid. In the last few weeks I have seen articles on battery breakthroughs. Toyota is touting one. 1/2 wt., 1/2 size, less cost, longer range, etc. . Will these improvements be moved into the EUC/Scooter world? Soon or awhile? Are other battery improvements on the horizon? A slightly faster, slightly longer range V5 would suit my needs great and Me thinks you could sell one to half the college kids in America. Is the V5 the only cycle that a sticker fits nicely over the side panels. If I bought one, that Captain America sticker would be my first purchase, before a helmet even.

    Too bad, you don't have any log of it when you crash. There are specialized machines to diagnosed chips to find out the root of the problem to improved/fixed futher iterations before fab. Begode should take the wheel back and run tests on all the chips, instead they joined the Joe's guessing game.

      Sorry it took so long but now the word has spread of what I can do with a KJV Bible. And people are actually coming to my door.
      It seems that only I can do this. Read the past, present and future with this KJV. I'm sure I'm not the only one. I'm not a Christian.
      I'm not a preacher.
      I'm not a member of any religion or cult. And I'm not a prophet. I tell people this but they don't care. It's the fact that I am using a KJV. So how can I not help them? So my humble apologies that it's taken so long to get back to you but now you know way. And I'm sorry.
      ======
      So on that note I will definitely look for this video of you going up Wilson on a C-mini.
      Seems these days I'm watching you and the war in Israel and Gaza. And these videos in Vietnam about this monkey named BiBi...I love that monkey. You should watch a few I think you would get a kick out of it.
      PS
      As for the deleting of "that" KJV video? I told you I wouldn't blame you or be upset. I understand why and I am totally cool with your decision. So don't worry about it. I'm still your friend. I'm very easy going. And from what my wife has said it's next to impossible to get me mad. She calls me Spock. It's my pet name. So we're good brother no worries.
