Which stage of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift are you most looking forward to? Let us know in the comments! 👇
All of them. I hope to witness the future woman greats who will eventually fill Annemeik VV’s shoes next year.
No i'm not can i get 12 bucks in ice cream and go outside?
Manon continues to show she’s the smartest presenter by bringing an e-bike up an alpine climb with a pro.
We can't disagree there! 😂
It’s been done before!
Yep the video with Mikel Landa for instance
I think the pro ride with ebike interview is top notch content. Presenters dont needs to kill themselves to stay together and they actually have breath to do a proper interview. I'd watch way more of these.
They're such a useful tool to have for this kind of content!
Kiwi, cyclist, civil engineering student! Fantastic... go well in the tour Ella.
Thank you Manon. This was motivating to me as a 70y/o endurance roadie.
It’s so inspirational to see the young ladies living their dream. 🥰
It's so amazing that we have this incredible race to watch!
@@gcn yes!! However I’m not seeing coverage in GCN+. 😙
Amazing performance by all the women on the Tour this year. Just to put it into perspective, Ms. Ella Wyllie, finished 3’38” behind the winner this year and that was good for 73rd place. That’s how strong and competitive the racing was. Awesome job.
Thanks Manon - another classy video. And thank you especially for introducing Ella to us. A thoughtful young women who has her head well and truly screwed on the right way! I'll be looking out for her on the Tour!
She'll smash it at the tour we're sure 🙌 Should we get Ellie back for more videos?
So good to get a professional's perspective on why it's important to recon a race route. Ella and Manon were wonderful hosts, and I'm looking forward to more TDFAZ coverage. Thank you for your hard work!
It's going to be awesome! For more on the Tourmalet, you could check out the film we made on GCN+ 👉 gcn.eu/Tourmalet
Possibly the best GCN vid yet, great insights into an elite athlete's life, not just on the bike but academic career too! Huge respect...
Fabulous video with Kiwi Ella, impressive rider at 20, articulate, intelligent- balancing engineering studies, funny and down to earth.
So many talented Kiwis in pro peleton and in le Tour making us proud 🙏
#goKiwi 🇳🇿 🥝😊
Congratulations Ella on finishing 2nd in the white jersey competition.💪🤙💯🔥
Way to go Ella! Smart and smashing it. Kiwi represent
MANON!!!Major accolades for making that climb even with an e-bike!!! I was really impressed. I really nice vid just prior to the Tour de France Femmes. (I also enjoyed how Ella Wyllie just HAD to pull ahead of the e-bike on the climb just once. It's a great feeling.) Stokked for the race!!
Excited to watch tdf femmes and this video exceeded my expectations for access and behind the scenes detail. Ella could have a future as a presenter, but wishing her an amazing pro career first! Love the humility from Manon to use the e-bike and start later, and also just a reminder how incredible pro riders are. Great video and interview! Go Ella!
Thanks so much and glad you enjoyed it! We're so excited to see the Women's racing this week!
I really enjoyed this. I'd love for Manon to follow up with Ella to learn how her #TDFF went, particularly her experience on this stage while actually racing.
Nice job to these two young ladies. Being in the US, and approaching 60 , I do not have the ability to ride these except via Rouvy and interestingly, I rode them today, and Tourmalet basic tore my legs off over the last 4k. Just a brutal climb, I can not imagine doing that in person without stopping a lot.
You're not alone, the Tourmalet has this effect on people 👀 Keep you the indoor riding 🙌
Ella was awesome, great to see something from the female pros, definitely more of this type of content. Maybe you can get her back after the race and see how it went on the day. I am keen follower of triathlon (I know it's sinful) and the women there bring the fire as fiercely as the men, so its good to see pro road cycling catching up.
I'm missing watching the Tour de France. I stopped watching it a few years back as I no longer have a TV License. It was probably the only live show I watched all year round and it wasn't really worth it for just one thing, I'm not a TV person.
Manon, too Humble! I remember you up the chapels back in trek days.
Really insightful interview, and what a great pairing no 'Pro' attitude there at all.
Weird hearing our accent on media. Ella is great, wish I could climb like that,
It's great to see the spotlight on the women's race. Not sure what the long term plan is, but it would be amazing to see it get as many stages as the men's and even run simultaneously. But, obviously, I'm not sure what that would involve or if it's possible.
Great video. Will be watching the Female Tour for sure. Watched it last year and it was amazing.
It's going to be epic!
Yeah Ella! We need another wyllie cup race.
fabulous share! thank you very much!
Glad you liked it!
When Ella goes back to her teammates she can tell them a HC category climb stands for Holy Crap.
Great interview very interesting.. read that Manon could interview on route with the e-bike 😊👍🚴🏻
Some of the comments on here are awful, Manson in a E-bike, heaven forbid “clutches pearls”. She’s admitted she was never going to keep up with Ella on the hills, she wanted to interview her going up, so this is the way she could do it (hats off to Ella going up that and still being able to talk), “oh Manon is on a E-bike, that’s why she doesn’t look like a cyclist anymore” lord stop the world someone isn’t a size 0🙄 she has always been and still is in great shape, I love cycling, but sweet baby cheeses on a bike some cyclists really are the most judgmental asshats.
Great video! So nice to learn about Ella. As a GCN+ subscriber, I'm gutted that I can't watch the race here in the US on the service. I'm absolutely loving women's racing these days. It just gets better and better.
I have a quick tech question. Does GCN et al plan on making the switch to 4K video any time soon? All of your videos could benefit from it but particularly ones with amazing scenery like this one. I sure hope you're considering it. Thanks.
We're sorry that you'll be unable to watch the racing but we will have highlights on the GCN+ app and the GCN Racing UA-cam channel every stage!
We aren't currently working with 4K video but it may be something we'll see in the future! Great to hear that you're loving our content!
Get a VPN mate.
Thanks Manon, great video, happy to live with the ads for Wahoo if it keeps the channel going
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it
I like to watch the men's and women's races equally. A great race is a great race.
really enjoyed the vid for sure:)
Women's racing is incredibly exciting! That's great to hear that you enjoy both equally!
@@gcn Like I said, a race is a race. A great race is a great race. That is the great thing about cycling:)
I am excited to see those women climb this historic mountain the Tourmalet. Better known as Charly Mottet favorite climb.
It's going to be epic! To learn more about the mythical climb, why not check out our film we made about it on GCN+ 👉 gcn.eu/Tourmalet
Oooo, thanks you so much. 🥰Women commenting on women’s racing.
GCN has definitely started to evolve from the dark ages. Thanks!!!😊♥️♥️
We love that Women's racing is seeing such a great regeneration!
@@gcn Yes!! Just a thought? Perhaps another woman presenter to work with Manon. Y’all guys are fantastic, however, women
like me, would prefer to hear it from women. Mix it up to get both perspectives! That would go a long way help your move into the 21st century. I think even most guys would appreciate it!🥰
@@shellypalumbo5297 Why are you so obsessed with gender?
@@66smithra simple. In this hugely dominated male sport, gals need to support and speak out for each other.
Most Guys certainly will not.
We are mostly patronized and treated as a novelty. 🥲
@@shellypalumbo5297 What does that even mean? You're saying that women are victimized just because they don't ride as fast as men and don't compete with them head to head? It's just simple biology. I ride with women all the time and they don't see themselves as victims that need "spoken" for.
I didn't even know about Tour de France Femmes :) Nice video & Thanks :)
Well now you do! We'll be showing every stage live on GCN+ (territory restrictions apply) plus a highlights package at the end of each day!
Riding up the Tourmalet while easily holding a conversation with Manon. What is she made of?
Love that Kiwi accent! Manon is the best presenter; sorry boys.
Good luck Ella from a Kiwi living in Mosgiel Otago South Island NZ.
Mosgeil is like an old ladies
.... ,it is down there but who cares
I have massive respect for all athletes embarking on new challenges. I'm not familiar with women athletes in general, who in women's cycling worth following?
We'd recommend tuning in on GCN+ to watch the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift! We have each stage live (territory restrictions apply) and highlights packages on our app and GCN Racing UA-cam channel at the end of each day!
hope you dont mind
but you got her name wrong!
Ella Wylie > Ella Wyllie
thank you for this video~
Brilliant content the womens TDF will be phenomenal.
We can't wait! 😍 Who's your pick for the win on the Tourmalet?
Kartarzyna Niewiadoma is my pick Manon.
I think if Manon put her mind to it she could be a really good climber, she is still young.💯✌🏻👍🏻
We hope not 😉 We love having her on the channel... can't see her go pro again 🤫
In looking closely at the bikes, the pro's bike, which I assume is sponsored, did not have an integrated cockpit.
Granted, I don't watch that much of the pro-cycling coverage for men or women, but GCN Tech has been doing a lot of coverage of the bikes in the men's peloton and how they all have top spec bikes.
Do the women's teams usually have lesser tech?
It often depends on the team's budget. The top-level World Tour teams with the biggest budget will usually have the most high-end equipment, whereas lower-budgeted teams and ones in the lower UCI rankings will often opt for cheaper components, which don't necessarily have much of a negative effect. The performance difference between Ultegra and Dura Ace for example wouldn't be too noticeable but the price difference would be!
@@gcn I understand the very marginal gain that one might see from Dura Ace Di2 over Ultegra Di2.
But, in GCN Tech's video titled "Tour De France Bikes Ranked Cheapest to Most Expensive!" even the cheapest bikes being used by the teams with the lowest budgets on the Tour de France had integrated cockpits.
So, is this that women's teams are significantly well less funded?
Are the sponsorship deals with Shimano, SRAM, and the various component, frame, and wheel makers that much lower?
I've always assumed, to a degree, that the bikes in the Tour de France are not just there because the teams pay for them but because the whole race is treated as a giant marketing campaign for the various manufacturers to sell "what the pros use" to significantly smaller teams and to the everyday (all be it well heeled) people who are going to go out and buy an expensive bike.
If my assumption there is not wrong, then...
I also assume that if the Tour de France is the most prestigious men's cycling race in the world then the Tour de France Femmes would be billed as the most prestigious women's cycling race in the world.
And if that is true, it certainly shows a disparity in terms of how much the equipment manufacturers (who are often sponsors) care about seeing their tech in the men's race vs the women's.
But perhaps I have a big gap in my understanding of how these teams are funded and what equipment they use.
Ella born in 2003. Good lord I feel old 😳
love this!
A kiwi!!!!
20 yo !
That's a NZ accent btw
Was Tour de France Men only before then?
There was a Women's edition a while back but it got cancelled. This time around we hope to see it stick because last year's edition was amazing!
@@gcn Thanks, I did not know this, the more Tour de Frances the better!
Manon can win TDF with eBike, go Manon Go!
1:49 what does she have under her right leg short?
Thanks
My guess would be airpods. This is what I have there and it's a similar shape
@@markusb9832 mmm...🤔 interesting even tough I would put them into the back pockets
How sad that a smart femme such as Manon did not do her research to know that the first female version of the TdF was in 1955, or that there was a women's Tour de France Féminin from 1984-1989, raced in conjunction with the men, before she was even a zygote.
Looking forward to the TDF femmes
I have two bikes, good to see pro rider using electric bike on their recovery ride, it’s what I do, 🎉
Ebikes are the way to go 🙌
No bike check on that Ribble? Great Vid.
Good luck. 😊
Slightly odd how the women’s teams (based on this Ribble alone) don’t have the top spec bikes like the men do. Didn’t expect to see partially routed cables on a pro bike!
Used to get the same as a runner ....have you done the marathon ? Not a marathon...THE marathon , meaning London . Firstly there are 'other' marathons even in the UK so I asked which one ... secondly I wasn't interested in anything over 10 miles usually unless it was off road or cross country or trail . Each to their own , but unlike most runners , not all , I wasn't interested in running marathons . It isn't the only distance 🤔
The view is just Amazing ... still rooting for Annemiek
Yeah, she'll just destroy everyone else here if she's on form - and it most certainly looks like she is!
It'll be great to see her fight it out with an in-form Demi Vollering!
She’s 20?? Wow I feel old
With that music in the background I keep expecting Alex Dowsett to appear!
Manon so beautiful
I like the womens racing content!
So do we! Will you be watching the Tour de France Femmes?
@@gcn unfortunately I don't think it's available in the US via GCN, but I'll watch the recaps and whatever clips I can find on UA-cam :)
Great video Manon, but please drop the Americanism - recon - how about the good old recce?
She will need that engineering degree, salaries in pro womens cycling at not likely to pay the bills for too many years after retirement.
Shame they have to go up that side. The climb from the other side is so much better
I didn't know the Kickr was useful without a power source.
No cool down needed for ebikes? People say they make you work just as hard.
Manon didn't do race efforts finishing at the top
I dislike that there's even a designation between men and woman.
Do you really think many women would have the slightest chance competing against the men? I mean there's a reason why failed male athletes suddenly become trans and proceed to wipe the floor with women in multiple sports.
these wahoo ads are getting out of control
That’s cycling. The team names are literally brand names.
Manon, you forgot to ask Ella if you can see her wahoo 😒
Manon did you know most meth addicts ride bicycles instead of driving a car? I feel you should consider making a good video about this topic
Ella looks tiny next to Manon.
man on is cheating
