Even in the land down under (Melbourne) Bob Newheart’s humour made its way into training programs here. I used to train long term unemployed adults in how to apply for jobs more effectively. This video was a tongue in cheek way of preventing them from over indulging in their mental illness and using it excessively as an excuse for not fully participating in the tasks and activities on the program. It really did hammer home a message ! RIP Bob and thank you for all the people you have made laugh..
I've been through marriage counseling and I cannot tell you deep and true and meaningful this is with amazing humor. Therapists will bilk you for ridiculous amounts of money to look at things in some super nuanced way when all that needs to be said is "Stop it!" RIP Bob.
This is funny to me because I suffer from anxiety and OCD, and people always think that you can stop worrying at will 😂😂 The truth is that the more you want to stop thinking about something, the more you do it. It's like telling somebody "whatever you do, don't think about a green elephant with red dots"
My therapist told me about this yesterday and to hear he just died is just wild. She told me about this as a way to maybe picture a little annoying thing on your shoulder and yell STOP IT at whatever it is to shut it up to work towards ignoring the negative voices.

Once I went to my family doctor with what turned out to be tendonitis in the joint connecting my middle finger to my hand. I told him that it hurt when I bent that finger toward the hand. He actually did tell me to stop doing that. Which seemed impractical.
MadTV when it first began, was astonishingly insightful and funny. I feel like there was deliberate sabotage of the show because the "insightful" components hit a bit too close to the bone so "viewers" contacted MadTV to request more of; _"he look-a like-a man"._ ...I do agree however that wrestling fans and people who watch cars drive in circles are also up late at night, I just thought that wrestling was on late at night as well. (Edit) I am NOT labeling this particular video clip "insightful". See my other comment elsewhere.

Adore Bob, I miss him so much. He was so much fun on the Big Bang Therory and so many of his roles. His dry humour was so unique and special.
