  • In this review, Chris talks through our favourite single-layer motorcycle jean: the Rokker Rokkertech. Available in no less than four different washes, this is a jean that you really should come into store to to have personally fitted to not only ensure that the fit works for you, but also that the knee armour is in the correct position. In this review, Chris talks through each wash, leg length, waist size, and so on.

I wish I could visit you to buy a pair... but it’s a long way from Australia. Great video - thanks.

Why doesn't the rest of the world have dealers as good as this. This guy is willing to do anything to fit you in the right pair of jeans to protect you and give great customer service. Here in Canada, we have zero options like this.

I was fortunate enough to find a pre-owned pair with less than 20 minutes wear time at under £200 They are a great fit including the armour sitting correctly ((pure luck as bought unseen)) amazingly comfortable and I feel safe out on the road. Now with this first hand knowledge I’d say they’re worth the cost and definitely be happy to pay the full price

Definitely a good idea to try jeans for size whilst sitting on your own bike, as the ideal length depends where the foot pegs are. On more sports orientated bikes the pegs are further back and higher than on street bikes or cruisers, so you mighty need a longer leg length to keep those draughts out, than you would on a more laid back bike.

Hi Chris. Great review. You sold me a pair of Rokkertechs a while back. They are very good, but I wore them the other night, just to walk up the pub and I can tell you they are bloody freezing when it’s cold; much more so than normal jeans. I would definitely recommend some thermals under these bad boys, otherwise it feels like you’ve got a cold wet shower curtain touching your skin.

I commented on the rokker rockertech Jean's I'd bought, I've just installed the d30 ghost hip and knee armour. I didn't like the old d30 solid pads so never put them in.
You can easily unpick stitches on inside pocket very easily and adjust the position of knee pads. It's so easy I managed to do this myself (the first time I've ever seen anything) so the new d30 ghost pads are fantastic honestly fit and forget.

Thanks for this very detailed explanation about kevlar and Rooker single-jeans this subject it is now very understandable for me, sadly I we don't have a Motolegends store here in Mexico. What I should do to get them? Some USA on-line stores do not have in stock all the models y sizes as you are

The jeans are amazing. But Chris, I want to know who makes your caps!

I bought a pair from you a few weeks ago, and I did indeed need the kneepads moving. Service was excellent and my adjusted jeans arrived a few days later. Highly recommended!
One question: How should you wash them? If not with regular detergent then what should be used?

Hi Pete. Use a non detergent based washing solution. So Nikwax or Storm. Detergent is not good for the tape that is used on knee pockets. ML

What do you think to this @motolegends? I bought into the spiel but it appears that you were talking nonsense. I. E. Not a better slide time than leather or better than a 2 layer jean.

Chris, did you mean those SA1NT when you spoke about other brands? I’m undecided between these two manufacturers.

Not sure that I had any one particular jean in mind when I was recording our single-layer jean review, but I was, and still am, aware that there are a lot of expensive jeans out there that are not CE approved and which, therefore, should not legally be on sale in the UK or Europe. Saint, Ugly Bros and John Doe all have pants about which this can be said.
I don’t know the Saint range particularly well. I see them more as fashion jeans, but as far as motorcycling in them is concerned, the last time I looked their Unbreakable Stretch jeans at £360 were totally illegal. They are/were not CE approved. In fact they don’t even come with armour pockets. Again 100% illegal. Their £370 Model 3 jean comes with armour, but when I last saw a pair they were not CE approved, so they had not been officially tested for abrasion or tear resistance, or seam strength.
So, at the time, I did not have Saint in mind any more than I did all the other slightly dodgy, below the radar, jeans brands. But personally, no, we would never have any interest in selling Saint jeans. They are more expensive than Rokker’s jeans, but fall short when it comes to safety standards, certainly as far as CE certification is concerned.

I've had a pair of rokker revolution Jean's and was so impressed I bought the rokkertech Jean's. I'm not disappointed they are great, feel like a heavy really good quality pair of Jean's. I do take out pads and wear them as normal Jean's. I would say worth the money.
Could I ask a question the knee pads are in wrong place in mine, and will have to now you mention ed it have them adjusted, what about the tape? Does it re stick? Your advice would be apreciated, I'm I Yorkshire so would have to have them do e locally.

You may need a resupply of the tape. Are you talking about moving the pockets in the Rokkertechs or the Revolutions? If you contact Warranty@motolegends.com they will help find some tape and send it out to you.

If you buy the Legend version then yes (although does depend a little on your waist size and boot size obviously). But haven’t failed with the Legend yet!

Are you going to make a video on John Doe products like their jeans or jackets? If not, why? Are they at bad?

    • @motolegends2606
      @motolegends2606 4 роки тому

We may do a video on John Doe jeans although they don't do a single layer jean. They may not get a good review, though, because none of their jeans are properly CE approved. ML

Motolegends I just checked their online site an it says CE approved by TÜV Rheinland, most of their clothing does not come with protectors tho.
Their older stuff didn’t have a CE Tag that is correct.
I got multiple John Doe pieces and out of all the kevlar lined clothing I had in my hands they have one of the best quality feel to them.
I would definitely consider them a premium entry in motorcycle gear when it comes to Cargo Pants, Hoodies, Jeans and Shirts
Also I need to mention they have a 100% Kevlar liner and IMO just the knee, butt and outer seam does not cut it for abrasion resistance, since the normal Jeans part can rip open in the blink of an eye and nobody knows how one will slide down the road.
