Everyone knows that Steve is an ax master, but I think Dweez might get short changed on the appreciation factor. He can hold his own with anyone. Love this. Keeping the late great Frank alive.
Wrong Dweezil can kick azz on the guitar..he very under rated.....go look at some of the videos of him playing eruption and tells how he meant Eddie Van Halen when he came over to visit frank ...Eddie taught Dweezil alot ...a few guitarist said Dweezil can just about match every notes Eddie played ....
I've seen these two boys growing in the background since the 60s, and emerging from the Zappa realms. Seen them both debut in England with Frank, and managed to watched them live two summers ago in Geneva already together with my almost 90 years old mother that's about to reach 91. Hope they come around again near as Zappa legacy is contrary to what Frank thought of himself an undiscovered mine...
Eliseu Huertas Cos Seems that you & I attended alot of the same shows , I came home from Vietnam in 1969 to find my wife was a hard core Mother's Head , we spent our youth following Frank when we lived in NY , then San Francisco and finally Michigan which was the best spot because it opened up Ohio ,Indiana and Wisconsin as well as Michigan , i will be 74 this year & still start my mornings off with a coffee and Frank blasting on our HiFi , you know your old when you still have a HiFi and use the thing lol
Seriously, how do you not know about Dwezil Zappa, and his sister Moon. He in his own right is every bit as good as his father . But, he wanted to act instead . But that fell through.
Oh yeah, he's extremely talented. He's been in a whole battle with the family estate over his playing his dad's music, using the family name, how he gets paid, etc. It's a shame because he's the closest anyone can get to hearing Frank play these days.
Laurent - I believe we were standing next to each other, because you can hear my laugh at :44. It took me three days to get there from Chicago >>Dublin>>Liverpool>>London>>Calais>>Paris>>San Julien en Genevois. Thank you for sharing this!
Wouah ! That's incredible ! You came from Chicago especially to assist this festival , Respect !! You were beside me , Mike Keneally was there beside us isn't it ?
@@74ppaz - Yes. I was messaging with Mike all the way from Chicago. He came out and hung out with us for three songs. He actually told us that Steve would be coming out for a few songs. We were in Europe for five shows. We were also in Montreux, Milan, Lorrach and Vienna after the Guitar en Scene Festival.
So dam cool..Frank would be so fucking proud of those 2 together like this
Vai saved the day with the vocals
His name is Steve VAi and he is crazy guy !
Damn, Dweez's happy face... Vai's singing... That immortal riff... Thanks!
Funny enough. Ben Thomas had just walked off the stage a few minutes before that.
Muffin man always will be the heaviest and "normal" song on frank's entire catalog
This is what the Internet was created for.
Two great guitarists enjoying themselves. Pure class

Nah I think people realize how great Dweez is. Most guitar players would shit their pants playing with Steve. But they're friends :-) Uncle Vai!
2 Italian stallions! Absolutely superb!
Love Dweezil...he looks so much like his old man - like a cuter and sweeter version of Frank
Dweezil looks and comes across like a real nice ,genuine bloke.......who shreds

1000 brown M+Ms is Ozzy wouldn't go on stage.......
@@michaelledford4751 Thank You for Your Service Merry Christmas
The fist bump at 4:57 is everything
And the winner is the drummer.
Awesome! must be so cool to play with someone who used to play in your father's band. :)
somuchts respect for the drummer 🤗🤗
When you play with your favourite
teacher 🖤
Saw Steve on his first tour with Frank in 1980. Saw Dweezil 3 times. Why not.
The musculature of Vai's left hand is outrageous -- at around 1:40 -- it's like an HR Giger painting come to life.
Microdot?
Nice to see these two old friends still paying tribute to the great influence in their musical lives.
Papa'd be proud!
Great video! Thanks for calling it a jam rather than insinuating it was a conflict to be won. The viewers are the winners!
thanks man..so good. I miss Frank!
ich geniesse und staune und lass mich rein ziehen in diese tolle musik::: danke ihr genie´s.
They have a great ear for each others Improvisation
Masterful!

Ohh el mejor tributo Steve Vai
Lol, I didn't know Frank Zappa's son played guitar. Looked him up and found out we share birthdays. Random fact of the day.

I would not want to play follow the leader with Steve Vai. I can't think of much more of an intimidating situation in life.

Damm Steve
Frank, steve vai played the best version of whippin post I've ever heard lol
YEEYEE
Steve and Dweezil looks like sons of Frank !
Wow Dweesle was influenced huge by his dad as well as Eddie Van Halen. He could not. Have picked better. I Love Dweesle
VAI QUE VAI ⛹️♀️🎸
Is that Ryan Brown on drums?
Vai taught dweezl to play the guitar when he (vai) played with frank. Vai, Frank, Ike... some teachers.
Eddie Van Halen as well. Dweezil has had some amazing teachers!
ზაპავიჩი მაგარია
Frank was his father and Steve was his guitar teacher... well... anything else interesting about this guy? 😂😂
Is this Dweezil Zappa crowned , ha
Vai used to play with Frank.
Valerie Ann duhhh

am i a mean or am i a muffin.
more hotel california than muffin man :)
Frank did it better.
Don't get me wrong but this just feels like soulless wankery compared to the original one.
The original wasn't exactly soulful or emotional either
One listener's soulless wankery is another's jaw-dropping excellence.
I know who ever recorded this probably couldn't help it but what a terrible mix, the drums seem to overshadow everything.
Gives it a nice rough feel tho
To be fair, recorded from amongst the audience on God knows what, shitty device......I'm enjoying it, as I wasn't there to revel amongst it in person.
