I don’t remember being taught in school about the largest uprising or rebellion of enslaved black people in America. Another case of Black History trying to be erased. Thanks for sharing this video 💯
Amerícan history teaches the opposite ... that they were compliant and docile, that it was a well-working system that produced successfully and everybody was happy. 😶
@@noble604Yes, they are pushing that lie now more than ever.
Cheryl - They really are, even skipping the whole słavery part and calling them “workers.” That’s why we have all these people in politics, news and onlìne more than ever who say it wasn’t “that” bad, “you people whine so much,” “everybody had it rough” (and) .... my personal favorite, “I’m lrìsh and we were słaves too.” 🤥

I am sorry, but you would think that the town would value such a historical piece of land enough to protect that place as a historical site. These sisters are basically doing the cities job.
It might not make sense at first, until you realize it makes dollars. And surely quite a bit under the table…
What's better than to sell it to a black person???? Make it a historic site for what???? So more white ppl can get paid ???
The Establishment will *never* "value" anything linked to slavery. Hence the current white-washing of Black History, particularly in confederate states.
Very true, but I'm not surprised because the dominant society is on a mission to destroy as much of our history as possible.
YOURE JUST MAD TWO BLACK WOMEN OWNS IT.
Today I learned about the 1811 slave revolt. We have always resisted and always fought back. I am so proud of my ancestry

Taking back land that was stolen originally from us to begin with this year is a major flex, major accomplishment, legendary 🎉
All we have done is flex since they killed martin, flexing has NOT relieved blk ppl from ANY type of racial oppression EVER.
Right! When I hear people say "what's next or what are we going to do about it!" This is exactly what it looks like.👌

Excellent. Our ancestors WILL be heard and NOT forgotten.
We need people like them more !! This is amazing. I wish the revolt had 5000 and not 500 ...perhaps our history could have been different.
Sadly, it is all about access to weapons and they had none 😢.
It literally would have been a whole different battle if they had weapons, too. (ps... That’s why these people fight so hard for their 2A “rights” and go so hard for their NRÀ. They know what having weapons does. They came in with weaponry warfare and that’s the only reason they could do what they did.)😞

@@youuknow4670 You know growing up in school as a young girl they taught us all black people came from Africa. As kids we would be outside playing like we were in some remote African village chasing lions & things like that. Well my great grandmother was 96 years old born in 1929 & I remember one day she saw us playing those games & asked us why were we doing it. We would say because "We're from Africa Madea" it was confusing as a child to see her get so visibly upset about this silly little game. Well she pulled us kids to the side & said "My people didn't come from no Africa, & my people have always been here." Imagine the confusion, I had tracing her ancestry back to 1790 I hit a brick wall but, our family has lived in the same area in Arkansas which used to be considered Indian territory for 230+ years. I do not claim to be African based on those words my great grandmother told me.
Hopefully I'll get to visit Africa Town this coming week.

The brutality against those that were fighting for their freedom- is so stark. Many American's dont know in detail about the horror...and then when state/public officials try to gloss over just how horribly violent slavery was-- everyone loses. It's important, truth is important even if it makes us all uncomfortable, it's vital to understand the history, and it's current repercussions.
Who is paying that young man- JOBS with that level of cancer rates...it's a continuation of horrible, life altering conditions AGAIN. That level of toxicity in a region regardless of who lives there is unconscionable. Truly the political class is owned by big business, not the people.
Yes!
That's Absolutely Amazing. Know preserve it for prosperity and to teach the up and coming generations. If this place could take what stories it could tell ! .
Awesome
Reparations are due! Let my people go Pharoah!
It's 2024, Reparations should have been paid to only the families that suffered from slavery,The day they were freed. Not for people this day & age...Not every African-American has ancestors of slavery, Nor are the current living relatives owed anything...
@@emiilyjaane7yes we are especially since it was ONLY three or four GENERATIONS AGO and some of those people have passed and they money and generational WEALTH that could have had was TAKEN away or never given in the first place and then when this GENERATION does try to get houses they will raise the house prices or take down all the pictures of people of color that’s another set back for generational wealth and family homes this still happens …
