Painted Vintage Desk Epoxy Pour Makeover

- I found this desk for $20 and decided to try my first epoxy pour on painted furniture. This was my first time trying to pour countertop epoxy on a painted furniture project, or any project for that matter. I am still learning how to pour epoxy countertops and even though things didnt turn out as planned, my epoxy pour results were pretty amazing.

Hey 👋 glad you're okay. I very much like this project, I'm excited that you're branching out
I swear only you can make a mistake (according to you) come out fabulous ❤! This looks amazing!
I think this piece turned out really well. Im not super keen on teal but you made it work. and the epoxy top is gorgeous. I did see the panic start, and wasnt sure what would happen, but you saved it.
Panic Pour!!! Love this whole project Ryan 👏
Lol I was so nervous. Thanks!
That top is a perfect match for that color!! I absolutely love it!!
I discovered u when you were going through your implant journey, which introduced me to your art. This desk turned out gorgeous! And your smile is gorgeous also :)
Hey you did great!!!🤌🏽I was laughing at your panic attack w/the gloves, but I was like you got this, it's looking good.
Nice job again👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
That looks just like a desk off of Crate & Barrel.. That was one hell of a find. Also, awesome to see that you’re thriving so well with those sets of pearly whites that I envy so much..
Thanks for another awesome video Bud!
Yes...the gold added the legs helped to balance the gold that is on the main part of the desk!!! Looks good!!👏
They used to sell this type of furniture at Naked Furniture (I think that was the name) over 50 years ago. We stained it and it now sits in my daughter’s garage in Wisconsin.
Epoxy has always fascinated me but I've been apprehensive to try it - good on you for giving it a go - the desk looks great :)
That epoxy ended up looking like marble. You did a great job
That panic is real! But you worked through it and did a great job.
Young Man!! You did an Amazing piece of Art!! I’m so Happy for you!! I have a curvy leg coffee table that I want to this technique-epoxy with! Don’t want clear so was happy to see you using colors!! Art is Never a Mistake!! As I said in your short-reminds me if beach waves!! Thank You for sharing your new found talent!!💫💙💫
Nice. The epoxy pour was stressful. I’m clearly not ready to tackle that yet.
Great job! So pretty…
I think the top turned out great. While you were applying the epoxy I wasn’t sure, but it came out wonderful.
I was holding my breathe when you were tilting the desk. Turned out great!
I don't know how you did it but it turned out fantastic. Love it.
I’m a picky picky person about these epoxy pours and I LOVE THIS !! Just beautiful ! ✌️
I like that you take risks and everything isn’t green or gray.
Hey kiddo!! Good to see you at it!! Beautiful piece!
Don't panic 😊
Hey, thanks
I have been wanting to do an epoxy top. My husband has a flooring epoxy company so he has everything I need. Beautiful job as usual. YOU are totally one of my faves!! I love Kasha too!! She does all by hand and loves to use gold. God Bless!!
So good to see again. I absolutely love you and your channel ❤
Way to save the epoxy pour - a bit stressful but you persevered and it turned out great. Nice touch also adding the gold accent to the legs. I’m looking forward to seeing more of your videos in the future 👍🏼
Thank you so much!
Even when you “mess up” it looks great.
Hi there, just a heads up, you can use a straw, just blow into it and you can move your epoxy around....Take care....cheers...
OH MY GAWD!!!!!!! What an outstanding job!!! I love 😍
I really like how you show the products you use up nice & close. I think your desk turned out awesome. You have some great videos.
I absolutely love this project! Do more! Absolute ART!
You did a great job. However, I would have used silver, not gold. But it's beautiful. The top looks like clouds ⛅️. Great job ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
That came out really good! I love that top…& I always enjoy watching you paint…you leaping around the furniture makes me smile.
I've never seen anyone do pours on furniture!
Oh the drama😮 That turned out great but you need a chair or stool. Really looks good!
Wicked job! Epoxy seems like a bit of work haha but I always thought it would make for a super durable piece. Great video Shabby bud!
Thanks 👍
Honestly? I love the marble look of the epoxy top.
Me too!
Looks like a seashore! Beautiful!!!
And, yes! More of the epoxy!
The top turned out so cool!
I love seeing the stuff you do! I enjoy refinishing my own furniture and also some for sale. Its neat seeing your techniques. Right now, I have way too many projects. Gotta get some stuff finished and moved out. Nothing worse than seeing some great item for sale and I cant even get it because my space is jam packed.
Great work ! I'm glad you're doing well
I really like the epoxy top, for pieces that will see a lot of wear (desks, vanities) it makes a lot of sense. And it came out looking really sharp, in spite of your moment of panic!!!
The top turned out really nice :-)
Lovely colors and appreciate your exactness in working.
Beautiful! Love epoxy work.
Thank you!
I’m surprised your colors weren’t more vibrant in the end result but maybe that was the look you were going for. Try tilting sooner on your next project. Very nice end result.
Oh it came out beautiful I loved the color 👍 🌹✌️🇺🇸
Came out great! I really like how you can see the thickness of the epoxy on the edges. I would have never been able to figure out the math for that
Apparently I couldnt figure it out either lol
Amazing top! The colors are gorgeous ! Thanks so much for sharing
Thanks for watching and commenting
Such a cool makeover! It was fun to see the process. I've always wanted to try epoxy and would love to see more of it. I love the colors you chose, including adding the gold on the legs. 10/10.
💙🌟💙
Top quality, and you have the most amazing ideas.
Glad you like them!
Very nice
Bravo
Thank you for sharing ❤
Incredible! What a difference!!!
Great video, I really fancy having a go with the Epoxy Resin. I’ll definitely be waiting for more videos 😊
It turned out beautiful
Looking great.
Great project! My mother still has this same set in a spare bedroom. I was nervous for the epoxy pour part! 😮 Finished project is beautiful as always!
Great job. Love it!
Excellent job and a beautiful result! 👍
I saw someone use a blow-dryer on coo setting to even out the resin vs tilting the desk back and forth. Just a suggestion!
Thanks and we'll see you next time!
That desk is fantastic!! The top, wow, it's beautiful!! Great job.
Love your channel...I love the results
You have such a creative way with these pieces. Most importantly you are very detailed and specific. Thank you for sharing.
Jerry
Beautiful job ♥️👏🏻🌟
It turned out fantastic!
Came out really Nice 🙂👍
Duuuuude! That is stunning!! ❤
Great out come for a first time try!❤
"Didn't go as planned" should go to "I meant to do that!" 😂🤩👍 How fun! This would be perfect in a nautical themed kid room!
The desk turned out amazing!! You got that Apoxy top surface to look like agate and it goes great with the blue color!
Awesome job!!
That looks really good .. well done
I could feel your panic when it looked like you were running out of epoxy and time! That's a way cool result though. Also you're the only one I've ever seen spraying furniture with an airless sprayer and I've been thinking of doing that too. I see other videos of people using the Wagner sprayers and it looks like it would take "forever" to do it that way. Even with cleaning up the airless sprayer it's still probably faster. Certainly easier. And I don't even want to think about brushing it.
I've used the Wagner sprayers before too. I have a few videos of me using them. It takes about 5-8 minutes to apply a coat of paint with them, depending on the size of your project. The Graco airless sprayers take 1-3 minutes. The downside is the Gracos use more paint and have more overspray so you kind of need a bigger area to contain it.
It turned out great!
What a beautiful desk !! My favorite color too. 😊😊
LTNS!!! Love your work!
Gorgeous! Wow 😮
This is beautiful!,
Looks awesome!
Looks really nice.
That was a triumph, more of the same please
SIMPLY GORGEOUS!!! Love the top finish. Thank you for sharing the effort. Need to try epoxy finish as I love the effect and the creative possibilities. Well done Sir! 🙋🏼♀️⚡️👏🏻⚡️👏🏻⚡️👏🏻⚡️👏🏻⚡️
I felt your anxiety but it turned out fabulous!
Looks nice! When I pour epoxy, I like to put on three pairs of gloves so I can just peel one off as needed. I hope that helps!
That's a great idea!
Looks great! I hope to get to see more videos. I have always enjoyed your work. Loved some of the old live streams you did.
Fantastic. I thought the epoxy top was going to be nasty, but it turned out great!
Looks so awesome
It is!
Enjoyed this!
WOW STUNNING!
Looks great!!
Thanks!
It's beautiful
Pretty cool!
I think it turned out fantastic 😀
Personally, I believe you have too much white pigment. I would just add the blue n metallic directly and use a hair dryer or heat gun to move around. If using a heat gun, be careful not to burn the epoxy by not getting too close and moving around quickly. Sure beats heavy lifting. Project being level is a must. In the end, the desk turned out beautiful ❤. Side note: The heat gun will also pop bubbles and using both the heat gun and torch is a winner.
I agree. It doesn’t matter what type of epoxy resin is used, white will yellow over time. Art resin will yellow sooner.
I LOVE it.
Awesome. I don't like the color combo but I'm sure it looks better in person!
Fair enough!
Great Job
Very nice!!!
Awesome!
Bravo. Outstanding.
Lol, guess doing some practice with new products matters, lol. It still looked good. I figured tons of other epoxy folks already corrected your mistakes. Lol
Wow - should sell for double the price as a one-of-a-kind artwork!
Very nice ! Congrats :=)
Nice work. I've been wanting to try opoxy.
