Just a suggestion, that may help, monthly check up (kinda like a boss battle) and you wont level up until the review. The review will be where you note everything you did where and when, and calculate the points obtained. Once confirmed, allow yourself to set yourself your rewards for any upgrades (Kind of like how you would unlock a skill tree) That way you 1, set a date just focusing on that. 2 - know what you can reward yourself with and 3 - makes it a good routine for yourself (Maybe a coffee date or video idea maybe). Might be a good way of setting yourself some routines when it comes to this.
Your comments are exactly what video game developers discuss. What is the proper amount of reward, how long to level, etc. In many games, the higher the level, the more you have to do. It may be many times the experience/points needed. Congrats on your vast project. Looks great.
I want to try this in Feb! I’ve drawn a little character and as a reward for different levels I’m going to draw them gradually fancier outfits and accessories 😊
Surprisingly setting up my own simple version has kept me super motivated and given me a reason to actually do things that I sometimes want to put off. Mine is basically just 25 bingo card that has five goals for five areas. I have changed two of my skills or goals.
This is such a fun idea! You thought it out really well. I particularly appreciate how you intentionally left yourself room to be flexible as you nail down the nitty gritty. I'm looking forward to more of your updates!
I dont have a bullet journal, I have a full size 8.5x11 artist grade sketchbook with thick paper... I have a Large handwriting style. I am new to journaling and mainly using it as a habit tracker with Notes and specifics about how each habit is going every day. Id love to see more habit tracker ideas that include space for notes for each day/habit.
So glad to see this! I have been tracking a bunch of daily stuff really well, but I haven't established the weekly tasks, projects, etc or the rewards/how to level up yet. I'm glad I didn't wait to start tracking until I had it all figured out though. I do so much more on a daily basis than I had ever expected or realized! I really need to stop beating myself up about things I *don't* do.
I started a simpler version of this after I saw you do it! I think it's helping me feel motivated to do things I need or want to do. I don't do rewards; so far just getting points is motivating enough.
I’ve been using your spreadsheet this month and loving it!! It’s helped me be way more productive in my home life and in the hobbies I want to enjoy more. I also had to change the ease of certain skill areas because with all my tasks it was easier than expected and that’s such a motivation for me to keep it up. I’ve been dabbling with ideas on tracking it in my planner because I love the way yours looks but for now I’m just using the spreadsheet. Thank you!!
I see many of my own changes reflected in this video 😂❤ After some frustrations I cut out a lot. I now have a linear progression and the number of points is only based on the number of tasks, not the ease. I also completely deleted the task log as it was annoying to fill in. Each appropriate entry in my daily log simply has a dot at the end of the line and I cross that off when I added it to my "times done" column I added in the tasks tab. Changed all the calculations to work with that. Idea is to just change the formula to values when a cycle is done. Something about "not changing the past" also makes that appealing to me.
I had to make some changes to my Life Admin RPG too and like you, after February there may be more changes or tweaks needed. But it is keeping me on track with my tasks and I am really enjoying the gamification. I'm hoping to keep it up for the year. Thanks for the inspiration.
I did the Life Admin Tracker with the days down and the categories across. If I did something in a category, I colored it in, and put the total number of points in that category, and the the total for that day at the end of the columns. I found it really helped me to see which categories I was slacking off in. The ones that I really really want to track, like hydration, also have their own tracker as you are doing in the next cycle. I didn't do calendars, but similar idea. I also like how you talked about the attitude of going in and not being perfect. I knew mine wasn't going to be. I am choosing to not ink in my levels, as I know that it will probably change as the year goes on. I'm not worrying about if it changed the levels in the past, I am adjusting it as I go forward. I am so glad I bought the spreadsheet. I like your color coding, I will probably incorporate that and I did add two additional categories to mine. I'm not a spreadsheet guru, but it wasn't too tricky figuring out how to add the formulas. Otherwise, I really appreciate your making this! I am having a ball with it, and it is really helping me to see where I spend my time, and what I am accomplishing each day.
I didn't go fully in with the Gamifying, but adopted several of your trackers and ideas lately. The Bingo, that includes anything that I want to happen in a month (brunch date, SM detox, etc), the reflections. I tweaked one to "52 mini-achievements in 2 weeks" and this one is making me proud! BTW: which font is that? Saludos from Argentina
I do everything in my journal. Each month I need to pages : one is the same as you, the habit tracker and an other one is just a table where each Monday morning, I log my points in each category for the week. I can easily compare how my week was compared to the other one. Then, when I level up, I mark it in my yearly journal. In this journal, I also have the point system, and everything explains, plus a spread with graphs to compare each month's by area. I also need to adjust some part, some categories are too easy compared to other and need some changes 😂
I've been using your spreadsheet, and i love it ! I kept adding tasks and re-evaluating the levels 🤯, but combined with my habit tracker, it's a game changer ! (lol) I'm only adding my habits on the spreadsheet on sunday (when i do my bujo for the next week), and I'm adding any project along the week when i'm thinking of it (and, like adding task in a to-do list just for ckecking it, I sometimes add tasks in the spreadsheet too 😁🤣)(and the 'initiative' skill help me a lot with procrastination !) I struggle a bit with the rewards too, i'm negociating with myself for trading some reward for another of the same level in another skills 😅(is it cheating ? well, it's between me and myself, so !) I was soooooo happy when I pass level 1 character on the 29th, i really never think I could do it 🤩 So, thank you so much for sharing this, I just love it 💖
I tried for some weeks and I gave up. I did so many tasks, gains so many points, level up in so many categories that I discovered why I’m always so tired. I do the work of three people in many areas of my life. I felt more anxious because I can’t do less because I have two young daughters, a demanding job because I’m a surgeon and my husband is in a very bad mental situation right now. I initiate the process because I tried to motivate him with the game as a competition. He is ADHD and needs a lot of dopamine but he couldn’t initiate the process because of the paralysis 😩
At least you now have the concrete information of your overwork 💜 It took me tracking my time in 15 minute increments to really open my eyes to my overworking so I could put plans in place to help prevent it. Hopefully you can find a solution that works better for you. Sustaining the work of three people long-term is definitely a lot 😔
Hello! I was wondering if you have any advice about when you can't be consistent because of circumstances out of your control. e.g. when you got sick, your progress was slower. I have some chronic illnesses so my ability to work on my Vitality will vary a lot. I passed all of my areas this month except Vitality; I only got half-way to level 1. There are times when I would be able to smash it though, if I'm doing well, so it's hard to set a goal for the month ahead of time. Thanks for this idea, it's been fun so far!.
One possibility would be giving yourself a bonus or multiplier for any tasks done when other circumstances makes it difficult 🤔 For instance a +3 points on any task, or an x2 multiplier or similar
Hello! I actually just bought this online and I have a question about this. In my journal, I have to do a task for my level completion (Like a boss to defeat) before I get my rewards (Like the chest you get after), how can I include this in the excel file? Thank you for answering!! 😁
So I have a weird problem with the spreadsheet. I’ve filled it in and on my mobile the drop down menu in the task log where you select the task you’ve done works. But on the computer there are no tasks to choose from. The category drop down menu works fine. Any ideas on why this is the case? Like I said, it works perfectly on my phone. But I would like to also be able to fill it in on my computer. Thanks in advance for your advice!
I've just bought your template yesterday.. It seems I should've waited a day.. Is there a way we can make the changes or get this new version? :) I've been looking for a way to do the weekly tab like you did, but I'm not the best at the formulas which is why I bought your template! Would be awesome if you could show us how you did that 😊
I can probably add that into the template 🤔 It'd just require downloading the new version and copying your existing data across. Won't be something I'm able to action today, but I can add it to a future update 👌
I’m a bit confused, where do I get the information to start for myself? Do I just put what you have in this video in my journal? I really wanna do this, your papers look absolutely amazing! Super cool
so I haven't officially started yet; brain says the pages have to be done before we can start (at least I negotiated off perfectly!), but one thing I've included was a flip-out that I'm putting at the front of my daily journal. I'm putting all of the tasks on it under their respective category and have put a box beside it that correlates to my perfect cycle for that task. So, I want to do a face mask once a week, face mask is in one column, and four boxes are in the second. I've done the diy lamentation (packing tape) and will use a dry-erase marker to check off if the task was completed or not (or to what level) then no matter when I want to log it in the spreadsheet (weekly or monthly) I have it all written down already and don't have to go back and try to remember. Plus it's reusable so I don't have to rewrite it each time or take up a page in my daily. I made the flip out by taking one page and cutting it in half so that it's a double flip, if that makes sense. I just didn't want to have a whole sheet one because i worried about it being easier to rip out on accident.

I agree with the linear progression, as long as I keep up with the performance from last month I deserve a little something 😂

To me, they're separate spaces so get separate themes 😊 Otherwise I'd get bored, haha
