Nice shot of the SC-44 pulling the five new Siemens Venture coaches at 7:50-8:40. I’ve never knew they went on this route, this is unexpected. This is far from any of their regular routes. Rare catch and nice. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Wait, metra has mp36’s, since when? I haven’t seen these locomotives on metra in person before, nor have I ever been to Chicago in general before, but I forgot that these even existed on metra, Lol. 😂 I thought they were like sold off to another railroad a few years ago, guess I was wrong.
No, the sd70s are here to take over and are replacing the venerable and lovable f40ph. I’m not ready for the f40 to go yet, I love them so much and they’re awesome locomotives. Thank heaven a god metra didn’t opt to buy cheap and unreliable siemens crap, I guess the old and classic emd products work good and better for metra since they attract more rail fans and are more reliable than the newer locomotives.
I’m going to disagree about the station. All that brick work, the arched windows and the smoke stack is vintage CNW. So in my eyes you are at CNW Station. On a side note, those tracks off to the left are where AM Rail came into Chicago in the classic “Silver Streak” with Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor.
Those 500 Series Locomotives are magnificent!

I have to admit, those new sd70machs are real big, powerful and heavy beasts on wheels. They look cool and sound great with their K5LLA horns. 😃😁😄
Great station shooting liked and subbed
8:46 nice Metra SD-70mach with A K5LLA Horn❤
Nice catches, especially of the SD70. If I recall, the SD70s are replacing all locomotives in the old paint scheme.
They’re replacing only the F40PH-2
As the -2s can’t get rebuilt for some reason
❤very very nice. To Italy
is us the usa chicago to be exact
Awesome Metra railfanning!
@ 2:01, is the actual scene from the movie Silver Streak when runaway AmRoad 4070 crashing into Union Station. Good video shots from downtown Chicago.
Yes they did use chicago OTC for the entrance shot, along with Toronto Union station
That sd70mach has a awesome k5lla
Yes they do

How do you get to that railroad crossing? I've seen a lot of vids at this site but can't find it on a map.
@@protonflux5766 it’s the Canal St grade crossing
You just walk north from Union Station
@@BNSF1848 Thanks so much! I just moved to the region.
