Meet Your Physician: Dr. Larry Werlin

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Lawrence B. Werlin to the HRC Fertility team!
Dr. Werlin is a nationally noted specialist in Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility (REI). He is the founder and Medical Director of Coastal Fertility Medical Center in Irvine, California. He was also the founder & Director of the Hoag Memorial Hospital Fertility Services from January 1986-September 1995. He serves as Professor in the Division of REI at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), where he has been a member of the clinical faculty since 1982.
His credentials as a leader in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility earn him the respect of his peers and many patients. He pioneered the use of Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) in Southern California and is considered a nationally noted expert in its application. He was the principal investigator of three major PGD studies that are forging the way for the future of reproductive medicine.
Among his many accomplishments, Dr. Werlin was honored as the recipient of the National Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine at the National Institutes of Health. He also served as Chairman of the Validation Committee for the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technologies for nearly a decade. He is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), The Society of Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART), the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society (PCRS), and The Endocrine Society. He has authored numerous abstracts and articles in peer review journals in his subspecialty, and is currently a reviewer for the journal “Fertility & Sterility”.
