Hummingbirds 💜💜💜 My lavender plants are frequented by hummingbirds and of course a ton of bees. I love listening to the hummingbirds and bees when I’m in the garden.
Chelsea, I want to drive to your house - I'll bring my own fork and spoon!! 😂 Yum! I found a recipe from the Washington Post for Dill Hamburger Pickles - it uses only 2 pounds of pickling cukes per recipe and is perfect from our tiny garden. Can't wait to taste the garlic, mustard seed and dill!!
I have historically lost so many garden tools that I could start a hardware store. I finally used orange electrical tape and put 3 stripes on the handles of all of my hand tools. Makes them so easy to spot and saves so much time and money!
Those Roo aprons really need slots for scissors, nippers, pruners, trowel, string, clips, lipstick and smartphones! The kitchen sink!! 😂 Like a carpenter’s belt. Same goes kitchen aprons. Somewhere to hang cup measures, spoons, a hand cloth and swimming goggles. 😬💅😁
My 3 and 6 yr old grand babies are the light of my life! 3 yr old is a crazy, funny little guy. His older brother has the biggest heart - I am so in love with him!🥰
Oh my goodness!!! That blueberry sun jam looks amazing. The only problem is, in my house, I would make a blueberry pie and freeze it for the holidays. Soooo yummy!
Because of the heat we have had in central Missouri, I decided to top my tomatoes. This was about a month ago. I noticed that my plants ate filling out and I now have new blossoms forming. More hot weather coming so keeping my fingers crossed that the blossoms will pollinate.
I only found your channel a month ago and wow, I just love everything about it. You have such a welcoming and down to earth personality. I also have a giant family! I wouldn't have it any other way. Kids and grandkids are my driving force.
I saw the scissors ✂️ in your apron and maybe it was used to remove the large broccoli. Grandkids are the best, take in as much as you can while they are young. I’m so lucky to have 5 beautiful grandchildren 24 to 4 years old . I have play days with the 4 year olds ( twins) every week. The older ones we get together every few months for a few hours to catch up but I make use of messenger in between to chat 💬 so we can stay connected. Glad the smoke has finally cleared and what beautiful views you have of the mountains.
I used to blame all the missing items (scissors, knives, screw drivers, duct tape) on the kids. Then they left home and the items still went missing! It was me, I wasn't putting them back. I solved the issue with a few nails in a wall and artfully drawing the item on the wall. Rather than look at the picture i can actively look for the missing item while doing chores.
Chelsea - I have lost probably literally at least a hundred pairs of sunglasses in my driving years. Last month I went to the dollar store and bought a sunglasses...leash? The kind you strap to both arms of em so they don't fall off your head? Fastened one side to my vanity mirror, one side to my glasses. Bam. Annoying as hell, but do you know what?? I haven't lost this pair yet! Ha! Sometimes you gotta work with yourself. Scissors on a string might be kind of annoying, but you won't lose the darn things! Do it! 😂
Hi Chelsea. Get yourself an old (or new) mailbox 📭and put it in your tunnel. It looks pretty cool and you can store scissors, gloves, seeds, etc inside. 🌻
Chelsea I always had the same problem with scissors when sewing. So I took thin elastic and tied it to the sewing table. Well I was watching my granddaughter in the summer. She was about 5 or 6. Well she was making Barbie clothes and she needed a scissors so she just used the scissors to cut the elastic. I laughed so hard. She is now 34 and I still give her a bad time. I still can’t find scissors.
Enjoy the grandchildren…they grow so fast. My granddaughter just turned 21😳. It was such a joy watching her over the years and we now have a great relationship with her. ❤❤
i planted the bulbs of a soft neck... it did a one small glove... like a tennis ball... i kind of really like it.. its like an onion... one peel all around
I live on central coast of CA in an agricultural area. Two blocks from my house are commercial flower fields which I adore watching grow on my morning walks. I've named the snapdragon fields the Chelsie garden bc I've never known anyone to enjoy snapdragons as much as you.
Chelsea, SOOooo very pleased that you highlighted the Roo-Joey apron last week. Mine arrived today & I picked green beans for the first time in the raised beds. GENIUS!!! No strain or twisting for this gardener with back & mobility issues. THX!!!!!
I’m so happy for you to have a grandbaby and happy that he lives close enough to visit! I love my kids to pieces, but my grandbabies are absolutely perfect! I have heard someone say that parents treat their kids like the Old Testament, under the Law and grandparents treat their grandchildren like they are under the Grace of the New Testament. That’s pretty close! God loves us like a grandparent, ferociously! I’ve never heard of sun jam before, that’s a cute idea! It seems like you might be able to put it on trays in the dehydrator as well.
To help you hot wire work better during dry weather; pour water on your grounding pole and continue to do so as it drys out. A farmer on you tube mentioned this on his channel.
If you water your grounding rod really well it should help with the charge. Your scissors must have joined the party with your hori knife and my axe...lol. That fruit dump looked really good. Good video!
If I understand this correctly (which is a big if ), your berries will be sweeter in a dry year. More water tends to “dilute” the juices, 😮which results in a berry that is not as sweet. I think this is true for many fruits, including tomatoes.
When you got your new puppy I commented that I had named my new puppy Oakley too. Now it seems we have more in common. While we live extremely different lives we continue be surrounded by same named animals. As a suburb dweller the animals I come in contact with are my neighbor's pets....two of my neighbor's dogs are named Honey and Oreo. Puts a smile on my face when I hear you talk about your animals. I'll continue to listen for more similarities. Love your channel.

Hi Chelsea. I think using a Caribiner to attach your scissors to your apron would work best. You could clip your Hori Hori there as well if you have a safe way to keep it sheathed. Loving your garden, your animals, your family... Everything. I'm a Mémère myself and it IS the best Blessing ever. God bless you and your Loved Ones, and Enjoy!
Yep! That losing of one’s very important garden tools is so darn maddening & frustrating. Been there many times 🥴. My other too frequent garden loss has been my glasses 👓…either from being distracted & putting them down somewhere, or being distracted and having them fall off while bending over…. One year I never did find them. However, the next spring my hubby found them while digging up the garden soil. Guess that falls into category of occupational hazards 😳. Hope your scissors “reappear” ….
hi there, great to see you got a smoke free day, how about running your own experiment and just topping half the tomatoes to see what works best in your situation? And re the scissors, at least your family is never at a loss for what to get you as a present ...... !! think I have about 8 pairs of secateurs dotted around and still have to search at times :)
Yes it will help. You'll allow that energy to go to the fruit. You may have to clip some new growth but worth the time ... your gonna get a sweeter tomato 🤗
All your recipes and presentation looks so good! As always, love your garden walk/tour. I like seeing the progress of veggies/flower/fruit growth during the growing season. Thank you for sharing your busy day with us!

TOPPING Tomatoes: Please let us know. your decision AND the time table. Last year, in SW MO Zone 6, I had sooooo many tomatoes set after cool down in Sept. A good thing but It was wild! Sometime in Oct I topped the 7 plants to encourage ripening of the fruit by Mid Nov (our actual1st frost last yr). I believe it worked??? . On 11-15 I rushed to harvest. Could you give her the topping recipe you use for your fruit crumble? Cause the one that you posted they didn’t make it like you did. Do you add anything besides the flour, butter, baking soda and vanilla? And you used sugar in yours where they used brown sugar in theirs.
This year I topped my tomatoes when they reached the top of my trellis, hoping they would focus energy on fruit setting before the heat rolled in. All was good and well until weeks later when I noticed a ton of side suckers everywhere flowering. Attack of the side shoots! If you're gonna top, keep up the sucker pruning or else! These tomatoes are on a mission for vigor. Love the video!
Glad the air has cleared up for you! It’s bad here in Northern Michigan too. Your Ranch is magnificent!! I’ve been topping indeterminate tomatoes at 7-8ft and no issue with « bushying» too much. However I stay very much on top of suckers earlier in the season, so I think that makes it so that there is nothing left to branch out
Yes, I googled it and this is what I came up with..."Once topped, determinate plants won't produce any more fruit or grow any taller. Instead, they'll send their energy to ripen the remaining fruit. In turn, you shorten your growing season and reduce the size of your harvest. However, you can top indeterminate varieties."
I love all your videos they are so interesting and i have learned so much. 1 thing here in the uk we have self raising flour and plain flour is your flour called all purpose flour a mix of both types?. My cucumbers have been coming one at a time so far but there are a ton of teensy weensy ones... could you please share the pickling process?? TIA. Oh... and soups fd absolutely wonderful in the fd. So if you don't have success with the others in the fd... try the finished soup.
@LittleMountainRanch, can you please tell me where to find your oven baked French toast recipe?! I know I watched it awhile ago, probably over a year ago, and UA-cam isn’t finding it for me when I search for it!!

If you blanch your kale before you freeze dry them they are great.
Thank for the video enjoyed it a lot
My cucumbers have been coming one at a time so far but there are a ton of teensy weensy ones... could you please share the pickling process?? TIA. Oh... and soups fd absolutely wonderful in the fd. So if you don't have success with the others in the fd... try the finished soup.
Easy as pie !!!
I was surprised to hear you talking about how dry it is. It seems like you've been mentioning rain in many of your recent videos.
It’s been really really hot in between and so dry!
@LittleMountainRanch, can you please tell me where to find your oven baked French toast recipe?! I know I watched it awhile ago, probably over a year ago, and UA-cam isn’t finding it for me when I search for it!!
I’m so sorry, but I have no idea. I could do another one.
@@LittleMountainRanch that would be fantastic!! We LOVE French toast but it takes FOREVER with our large family! I would love to have another video made on it! If you put Oven Baked French Toast in the title too, UA-cam will find it better for me and other people in the future!
Def attach a pair of scissors to your pouch!!
