Unfortunately for me, I'm the opposite of you. If only you could magnify+reraise then I'd be Gucci. It's funny how guides say how much better good ol Seph is from Zack. I agree but if only he had magnify+barrier or haste I would be happy so that I could do the other. Looks like they should of given Zack some jenova cells

Your build made all the difference, I was still having some bad luck and doing stupid things on 9 and 10, but I was consistently getting there, and faster too making it bearable to retry. I managed to beat it yesterday, you madam are an internet goddess. Much appreciated
This is the best bond of friendship gameplay of the whole youtube. The tactic is simple but overpowered. The other gameplays demands a perfect parry and calculated moves, your video makes a hard challenge into something manageable. I watched your video once. Learned the tactic and then i played. I died at Alexander because i only used lightning materia and ran out of MP cause i forgot the aero materia to recover PM. If it wasnt for that mistake, i probably would've finished it. I will try again later
Thanks for sharing your build and gameplay! I made it to Odin 5-6 times but he always snatched victory from me. From seeing your video, I swapped out First Strike for HP Up materia and played more cautiously. Got him on the second attempt!
Thank you so much! Did it first try with your build. I removed elemental-fire and ice with wind-magic potency. The extra dmg realy helped on Bahamut and Odin.
lol wasn’t going for the pun! Delayed response, but I added a maxed out magic up, a reraise (just in case for Odin, I did use it!), and took out elemental-fire for speed up! I think that was all. Honestly, could have done it without it. This is a great build already!
Yo I just wanted to say thank you so much you earned a subscriber and made a goated build that im also gonna use for my hardmode playthrough. Finally beat this challenge taking your advice to thundara bahumant when he does plasma discharge i finally got licky and beat him fast enough got to odin for the first time and luckily beat him before he did zantestuken. Odin was suprisingly easy thankfully. I just realized id never been zantesekuken by him yet 😅.

@@RaekwonTheGreatZack’s high braver ability is absolutely busted if you can get the charge timing down. There are def easier builds outs there (like this one) but Zack is the strongest raw melee DPS in the game. But his combat is just such a pain to manage.
In all honesty, this build is really good... but then Odin ALWAYS destroys me no matter what. I'm seriously considering giving up on the platinum trophy now. :( Edit: A mere 30 minutes after posting this... I'VE DONE IT. Now only Cloud and Sephy are left... XD

Ty for the build, before that i was stuck in bahamunt using a build more focus in defense and the battles were very long (like 45 min irl each attemp), with your magic bulid i won at secind attemp and only need like 25 min. Rlly ty again, now the platinum is mine. I would just like to add one thing to this build that i see in the comments you dont put (dont know if you actually use), add the Taumaturge materia to cloud for 25% more magic damage, that s it all. Again ty ty ty
i had a blue materia called magic focus that increases linked materia magic damage by 25%, is it a different materia? never seen taumaturge materia before 🤔

@@alcapone9303 for me, i cleared final brutal challenge first, got gotterdammerung, used that accessory to cheese hard mode, then cleared sephiroth legendary bout, got cloud's final manuscript, and finally finished zack legendary bout
I did it the normal way on my first try a week ago, scraping past bahamut, but this is deifnitely the closest to a 'cheese' method for thia fight as you're gonna get. Really nice find, will be useful for many.
i was struggling with cloud's physical build. when i tried magic build, i was struggling as well, but managed to clear the zack and sephiroth challenge. it turned out, the problem was equipping gotterdammerung but not genji gloves. once i did that, the result was staggeringly successful. magic could go as high as 50.000 damage and having that damage limited to 9999 was very detrimental
Make Odin look easy my friend, I used this build and got to him first try. Prime mode seems key to build ATB insanely fast. Nice job. Oddly enough I put this same build together because “nuke” builds got me through the solos.
@@widyavello4335 my biggest struggles are Alexander (I actually die sometimes here) and then obviously Odin. Any recommendations? Odin killed me 6-7 times already, I cannot replicate what you've done for some reason.
@@gboccia someone pointed out that the best place to train against alexander and odin are fighting them individually at full might difficulty first before attempting 10 rounds challenge as for my personal advice 1. destroy alexander left and right arm as soon as possible. don't use thundaga. get full 2 atb first from prime mode, get berserk level 2 buff and spam double thundara on each arm. once both arms are destroyed, cast aeroga on main body to replenish HP and MP. cast aeroga again to stagger, then cast thundaga for final assault. 2. during odin fight, dodge as much as you can. don't get cursed by odin (pink rings on character's wrists). if you get cursed, cast aeroga from faaaar away. that way, your attacks are too late to be reprisal'd by odin. build atb gauge using prime mode and cast aeroga again and again. odin will always gets stunned/flinching whenever he is struck by tier 3 spell. at that moment of flinching, pummel him using prime mode assaults. that's all i have on me at the moment. if i find more tips, i will share them with you
Nice, this build has got me to odin at least. For some reason Alexander has gave me some issue and the mindflayer sometimes but forgot synergy once and zack went down.l then lazer move wrecked cloud.
This build helped me beat this on the first attempt at it, thank you so much for saving me a lot of time and headache with these overtuned challenges, without this I would of no doubt been stuck on this for a long time.

odin will flinch/stun whenever he is struck by tier 3 spell. activate prime mode immediately after casting aeroga and hold square to make cloud swing his sword while odin is reeling from delayed explosion aeroga
@@widyavello4335 I’ll try that 1:1 on max power so I can practice that sequence. I’ve never used prime mode but appears to be similar to tifa’s fettering fury (which is so boss mode!)m Also, could I use this exact build in the next bout with sephiroth? I noticed you used some aspects but used sephiroth much more (makes sense as he’s way better than Zack). Let me know what you think for that last bout! :)
@@widyavello4335 I actually gave it a try (didn’t change a single thing on cloud) and one first try! I was uncertain as I had no haste or faith but Sephiroth filled in the gaps with manawall and his other attacks!
magic focus 1. increase magic damage for offensive spell materias 2. increase buff duration for supportive materias 3. lengthen detrimental status effects for debuff materias you could see if magic focus activates with certain materias when the paired materias light up on weapon screen
during Alexander fight, only hitting the body will the effect of HP/MP absorb work sorry, bad grammar. so, you just attack alexander left arm and right arm with thundara (check my newest bond of friendship upload to get the whole picture), then attack the body with aeroga to recover MP. hope my explanation is clear
i want my mp to be full all the time for increase damage 😆 i also put hp absorb to compensate for healing materia (hp absorb heals higher than curaga lol)

@@widyavello4335 There were a couple of times the synergy would have saved you some time but I 100% understood why you decided not to use it. The extended animations in chaotic fights normally lead to something bad since you take damage the entire time. This playthrough was very "safe" and an extremely good example for those that are synergy crazy / wondering why they are still dying at certain parts.
After about 200 attempts, i still get ruined by Odin. To start with id always get close to beating him. But recently he just destroys me. Dont think ill ever get this platinum.
Question! Does Zack’s Quick Charge feel bugged in this fight for you? In the combat tutorial for him after beating this & ‘To Be A Hero’, it works flawlessly but the input timing seems bugged in this fight for it? Just me?
Zack is broken damage wise (high braver esp) but so is his quick charge mechanic, in a way. It works as it should most of the time but may it be because of hit boxes or how the charge is registered, it's not reliable until you are extremely confident with every scenario. (and even then it gets dropped) I have seen people who are god like w/ Zack still miss (or doesnt register) the timing.. it's definitely not you!
Found this video after I cleared the Sephiroth challenge the "normal" way after 2 tries but this challenge feels so much harder. I like this build but I changed enemy skill to first strike and I got to Odin pretty consistently without using prime mode. Can't beat Odin though since I want to play it safe but once he hits me a few times he uses Gjallarhorn's Warning... I wonder if Odin just uses Gjallarhorn's Warning because I'm not doing enough damage in a certain time? Anyway, I'd be interested to see other builds for this challenge, did you find a good physical build yet? :)

@@widyavello4335 Finally got it! Prime mode really did the trick and I think knocking Odin out of Gjallarhorn's Warning with Aeroga also delayed Zantetsuken for a bit. This build really was a godsend. Thank you so much!
Does it Count when you parry his meele Attacks to bring him Close to zantesuken? I fail 3 Times in a row on odin -.- dont know how is the best Strategie against him
To be clear: by ‘parry’ do you mean like 21:48? Because I believe it does counts as taking a hit, since you suffer some damage. It’s better to precise block or dodge. If Odin is giving you hard time you could practice against him in the summon trial. At least then you won’t have the pressure of losing a run.
sorry, i don't quite understand your question. "bring him close to zantetsuken"? that's what i want to avoid, not the other way around. when the fight starts, i let odin sic cloud first, switch to zack, fill up his atb then cast haste and faith on cloud. then, once odin switches his target to zack, i control cloud, activates prime mode for berserk status, then start casting aeroga as DPS. odin quickly activates his furor thanks to big damage from aeroga. after he gets staggered, it's a sure victory for me hope this explanation helps your endeavors
I used the same set up for sephiroth challenge... hang on, which sephiroth challenge are we referring to, exactly? 😅 the brutal 5 rounds challenge or cloud and sephiroth duo challenge?

which enemy are we referring to? Alexander can only be damaged after both arms are broken. titan can only be damaged after his earth shield is destroyed
If you are really struggling on Alexander play his individual VR on the hardest difficulty instead of having to go through the others just to try different things. (this applies to all fights) I did this with Odin and Bahamut which made the overall battle infinitely easier.
DUDE tell my why my first try i got all the way to odin had him a 25% heatlh and now i cant get past the bahemut, I swear sometimes the ai is so passive and other times they just go berserk mode from the start

don't give up yet. you may haven't cleared hard mode yet or max out required materias trust me, those manuscripts and level max materias made so much difference
@@widyavello4335 no worries, I'm slowly getting better with. Consistently getting to round 10 now. Gonna just keep trying. I'll get it eventually! When I'm getting too frustrated, I'm leaving it for another day because my emotions impact the performance lol

if you wanna shareplay, make sure you live near indonesia (check the earth map where indonesia is). the farther your location is, the worse the internet connection will get. to put cherry on top, i live in third world country, so my internet connection is even worse than your standard, average first world countries

elemental fire and ice obviously go to armor slot, the rest can be slotted anywhere else you can remove elemental fire and ice if you are confident with HP absorb aeroga what i like about this build is, aeroga can stun bosses and interupt their actions. no need to perfect parry, counter, synergy, etc etc heck, i even made a lot of mistakes during this run, like zack casting faith on himself 🤣 my fingers were moving too fast i didn't realize i buffed the wrong person also, a lot of enemy can be stopped, such as round 2, 4, 6 (only alexander, bahamut, odin can't be stopped. haven't tested stop on mindflayer) @@adiralon
@@widyavello4335 stop can work on mindflyer and yea i asked just to make a perfect copy of the slots. some put it on weapon for damage xD and yea i noticed the flinch/mini stagger if you will and i was like this is the most amazing easy build i ever seen and the mp being at max always was so sweet to see, this would help a ton and i gotta try it lol, so thanks 👍🏻

Huh, whenever I fought Odin he’d hit me Reprisal as soon as I inputted an offensive spell. It happened so often I wrote off magic builds as unviable against him.
one of Odin's attack will put a curse on your controlled character with pink rings around their wrists. if this rings are visible, your command abilities are basically sealed. when it happened to me, i cast aeroga from faaaaar away so that when i got reprisal'd, the magic was already cast. if you want to be really safe during Odin's battle, dodging is better than blocking. the curse will be removed once odin activates furor
it was very optimized probably. my odin round was also optimized since i could pull it off every single time now, but some players found it to be challenging and got zantetsuken'd
I've been trying the other physical high damage build but have somehow lost to Odin 3 times so honestly i think i might give this a try and appreciate your creativity with it, it looks a little bit less stressful 🥲👍
for whatever reason, I'm not good with physical build 😢 i barely cleared this challenge with magic build either. but then i put genji gloves and suddenly it made a lot of differences 😂 magic could go as high as 50.000 damage, so that was why not using genji gloves for magic build was a big mistake. my damage only capped at 9999 😢
If you are using the high phys builds you need to be really good at the synergy counter and parrying in general. It is 100% faster than any build / run I've seen thus far but requires a lot more technical knowledge of the fights. Seeing Cloud hit for 50K+ is absolutely OP and a lot of fun. If any one summon is giving you a hard time just play their individual VR on the hardest difficulty to get the experience and then when you come across them in this challenge they will be a breeze.

Ty for the build, before that i was stuck in bahamunt using a build more focus in defense and the battles were very long (like 45 min irl each attemp), with your magic bulid i won at secind attemp and only need like 25 min. I did it the normal way on my first try a week ago, scraping past bahamut, but this is deifnitely the closest to a 'cheese' method for thia fight as you're gonna get. Really nice find, will be useful for many.
i was struggling with cloud's physical build. when i tried magic build, i was struggling as well, but managed to clear the zack and sephiroth challenge. it turned out, the problem was equipping gotterdammerung but not genji gloves. once i did that, the result was staggeringly successful. magic could go as high as 50.000 damage and having that damage limited to 9999 was very detrimental

Make Odin look easy my friend, I used this build and got to him first try. Prime mode seems key to build ATB insanely fast. Nice job. Oddly enough I put this same build together because “nuke” builds got me through the solos.

@@widyavello4335 my biggest struggles are Alexander (I actually die sometimes here) and then obviously Odin. Any recommendations? Odin killed me 6-7 times already, I cannot replicate what you've done for some reason.
@@gboccia someone pointed out that the best place to train against alexander and odin are fighting them individually at full might difficulty first before attempting 10 rounds challenge
as for my personal advice
1. destroy alexander left and right arm as soon as possible. don't use thundaga. get full 2 atb first from prime mode, get berserk level 2 buff and spam double thundara on each arm. once both arms are destroyed, cast aeroga on main body to replenish HP and MP. cast aeroga again to stagger, then cast thundaga for final assault.
2. during odin fight, dodge as much as you can. don't get cursed by odin (pink rings on character's wrists). if you get cursed, cast aeroga from faaaar away. that way, your attacks are too late to be reprisal'd by odin. build atb gauge using prime mode and cast aeroga again and again. odin will always gets stunned/flinching whenever he is struck by tier 3 spell. at that moment of flinching, pummel him using prime mode assaults.
that's all i have on me at the moment. if i find more tips, i will share them with you
This is another video I've seen where someone can take multiple hits from Odin without him casting his warning and I get hit twice and its game over
i think DPS also matters in this scenario. after every odin hit, try hitting him back with fully buffed aeroga

Nice, this build has got me to odin at least. For some reason Alexander has gave me some issue and the mindflayer sometimes but forgot synergy once and zack went down.l then lazer move wrecked cloud.

odin will flinch/stun whenever he is struck by tier 3 spell. activate prime mode immediately after casting aeroga and hold square to make cloud swing his sword while odin is reeling from delayed explosion aeroga
@@widyavello4335 I’ll try that 1:1 on max power so I can practice that sequence. I’ve never used prime mode but appears to be similar to tifa’s fettering fury (which is so boss mode!)m
Also, could I use this exact build in the next bout with sephiroth? I noticed you used some aspects but used sephiroth much more (makes sense as he’s way better than Zack).

You can also add reraise to the build for the Odin fight, I did that and it worked magic for someone mediocre like me!

@@widyavello4335 I actually gave it a try (didn’t change a single thing on cloud) and one first try! I was uncertain as I had no haste or faith but Sephiroth filled in the gaps with manawall and his other attacks!

Would swapping HP absorb for another Magic Focus on a wind materia increase wind damage from 25% to 50% for faster nuking?

What exactly does Magic Focus do with Wind materia? Does "increased potency and duration" by 25% mean its doing 25% more damage?
magic focus
1. increase magic damage for offensive spell materias
2. increase buff duration for supportive materias
3. lengthen detrimental status effects for debuff materias
you could see if magic focus activates with certain materias when the paired materias light up on weapon screen

@@widyavello4335 There were a couple of times the synergy would have saved you some time but I 100% understood why you decided not to use it. The extended animations in chaotic fights normally lead to something bad since you take damage the entire time. This playthrough was very "safe" and an extremely good example for those that are synergy crazy / wondering why they are still dying at certain parts.
After about 200 attempts, i still get ruined by Odin. To start with id always get close to beating him. But recently he just destroys me. Dont think ill ever get this platinum.
When you block with prime mode does it count towards his special. I keep getting to Odin and fail badly
that still counts as taking damage, sadly. i always resort to dodging when fighting odin
Question! Does Zack’s Quick Charge feel bugged in this fight for you? In the combat tutorial for him after beating this & ‘To Be A Hero’, it works flawlessly but the input timing seems bugged in this fight for it? Just me?
It might be related to hit boxes, not all enemies have the same hit box frames and thus may not register “correctly”.
i didn't bother controlling zack so i didn't notice this problem 😆 I should practice using zack though
Zack is broken damage wise (high braver esp) but so is his quick charge mechanic, in a way. It works as it should most of the time but may it be because of hit boxes or how the charge is registered, it's not reliable until you are extremely confident with every scenario. (and even then it gets dropped) I have seen people who are god like w/ Zack still miss (or doesnt register) the timing.. it's definitely not you!

Found this video after I cleared the Sephiroth challenge the "normal" way after 2 tries but this challenge feels so much harder. I like this build but I changed enemy skill to first strike and I got to Odin pretty consistently without using prime mode. Can't beat Odin though since I want to play it safe but once he hits me a few times he uses Gjallarhorn's Warning... I wonder if Odin just uses Gjallarhorn's Warning because I'm not doing enough damage in a certain time?
Anyway, I'd be interested to see other builds for this challenge, did you find a good physical build yet? :)

as for odin, i pursue DPS as quickly as i could. two aerogas are enough to push odin into furor state, then stagger after that. my priority during odin fight is always dodging, not blocking since blocking could get me cursed with pink rings around my controlled character and guaranteed to be reprisal'd if that happens
@@widyavello4335 Finally got it! Prime mode really did the trick and I think knocking Odin out of Gjallarhorn's Warning with Aeroga also delayed Zantetsuken for a bit. This build really was a godsend. Thank you so much!
Does it Count when you parry his meele Attacks to bring him Close to zantesuken? I fail 3 Times in a row on odin -.- dont know how is the best Strategie against him
To be clear: by ‘parry’ do you mean like 21:48? Because I believe it does counts as taking a hit, since you suffer some damage. It’s better to precise block or dodge.
If Odin is giving you hard time you could practice against him in the summon trial. At least then you won’t have the pressure of losing a run.
sorry, i don't quite understand your question. "bring him close to zantetsuken"? that's what i want to avoid, not the other way around.
when the fight starts, i let odin sic cloud first, switch to zack, fill up his atb then cast haste and faith on cloud. then, once odin switches his target to zack, i control cloud, activates prime mode for berserk status, then start casting aeroga as DPS. odin quickly activates his furor thanks to big damage from aeroga. after he gets staggered, it's a sure victory for me

I think my game is broken, when i use wind on him while his shield is up. It doesn't do any damage
which enemy are we referring to? Alexander can only be damaged after both arms are broken. titan can only be damaged after his earth shield is destroyed

If you are really struggling on Alexander play his individual VR on the hardest difficulty instead of having to go through the others just to try different things. (this applies to all fights) I did this with Odin and Bahamut which made the overall battle infinitely easier.

if you wanna shareplay, make sure you live near indonesia (check the earth map where indonesia is). the farther your location is, the worse the internet connection will get. to put cherry on top, i live in third world country, so my internet connection is even worse than your standard, average first world countries

what i like about this build is, aeroga can stun bosses and interupt their actions. no need to perfect parry, counter, synergy, etc etc
heck, i even made a lot of mistakes during this run, like zack casting faith on himself 🤣 my fingers were moving too fast i didn't realize i buffed the wrong person
also, a lot of enemy can be stopped, such as round 2, 4, 6 (only alexander, bahamut, odin can't be stopped. haven't tested stop on mindflayer)

Huh, whenever I fought Odin he’d hit me Reprisal as soon as I inputted an offensive spell. It happened so often I wrote off magic builds as unviable against him.
one of Odin's attack will put a curse on your controlled character with pink rings around their wrists. if this rings are visible, your command abilities are basically sealed. when it happened to me, i cast aeroga from faaaaar away so that when i got reprisal'd, the magic was already cast.
if you want to be really safe during Odin's battle, dodging is better than blocking. the curse will be removed once odin activates furor
Try timing the magic while he's attacking you, it'll hit. Use your controlled character to bait him to attack while use the AI to cast Spell.

it was very optimized probably. my odin round was also optimized since i could pull it off every single time now, but some players found it to be challenging and got zantetsuken'd

I've been trying the other physical high damage build but have somehow lost to Odin 3 times so honestly i think i might give this a try and appreciate your creativity with it, it looks a little bit less stressful 🥲👍
for whatever reason, I'm not good with physical build 😢 i barely cleared this challenge with magic build either. but then i put genji gloves and suddenly it made a lot of differences 😂 magic could go as high as 50.000 damage, so that was why not using genji gloves for magic build was a big mistake. my damage only capped at 9999 😢
If you are using the high phys builds you need to be really good at the synergy counter and parrying in general. It is 100% faster than any build / run I've seen thus far but requires a lot more technical knowledge of the fights. Seeing Cloud hit for 50K+ is absolutely OP and a lot of fun. If any one summon is giving you a hard time just play their individual VR on the hardest difficulty to get the experience and then when you come across them in this challenge they will be a breeze.
