Eric rarely gets credit for his voice. He is a very good singer. His time with Delaney and Bonnie helped him get over his doubts if he could sing and carry a band that way. Love this song. One of his very best.
Oh yeah! I know this song! I was 10 years old when it came out and was on the radio and it still sounds fantastic today, a bit like blue jeans swaying in the rain and sun.
Masters, yes, the best, NO! There are others equally as good, God (James Patrick) David Gilmour, Jeff Beck, Paul Kossoff, Richie, Gary Moore, and the list goes on. If you have favs thats awesome, you love great music, but to say the best, it's way too subjective. Always climb that Stairway!
Doyle really shines, that tone is always so right on. EC is brilliant. Derek is Derek, which no one can argue with though I am guessing someone will try.
Hail to "SLOWHAND", CBE Mr. EC, the king of the blues... And special thanks to Mrs. (Ms. ?), Michelle John & Sharon White for background vocals & gymnastics ;-))))
Actually no, Derek is much more staccato than Duane, not as fluid. Duane played a bit like Dickey, more melodic, something i'm surprised Derek isn't , considering he grew up under Dickey. Derek tends to overdo solos, just way to many notes, listen here, he plays twice as many a Eric or Doyle, yet says half as much. Nope, i don't hear a lot of Duane in him. More like Knopfler.
Since my band is now playing this song, I watched this again to get some more lick ideas for my own soloing at the end. But after watching Derek and Doyle's solos, I only know what I can't achieve. But I'll try to utilize going up and down one single string horizontally more like Derek does.
you're missing the point bro... it's a celebration of EC's legacy and these youngin's are paying homage to him by playing his licks... we've seen both of them on stage with him multiple times over the years... that love and admiration shines through clearly... certainly Eric is enjoying it immensely.
Huh? That's Derek Trucks and Doyle Bramhall-- Derek is one of the best slide players around today-- and modest!!!! They both can wear out the A chord!!!
Seems like Eric and Derek are always duelling solos when it comes to the key of A Major. Same thing happened if they jammed together the song "Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad" at the ending part which is was solo on A Mayor. They duelling tooℹ
About Derek Trucks I must say, I have never seen him that happy during the years with the Allman Brothers! It seems it's a big relief to him to not be forced to play with them again. I believe in Eric's early years he and Greg Allman jammed together a few times. Yes, and Derek's sound is still similar to Greg's....sad that so many had to leave so early!
Eric Clapton and Duane Allman has jammed. Derek Trucks is named after the album "Derek and the Dominos" (Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs) recorded 3 weeks after Duane Allman and Eric Clapton, first met,
What a bunch of bullshit Hans, I saw Derek every year at the beacon with the Bros - you have no clue what you are talking about you fool. Your post is stupid HANS
This is actually a great recording. Have you tried recording when in the middle of a crowd? It's actually pretty damn hard, so ty to the uploader! Listen to this every other day
Trucks ain't good enough to play over Clapton's solo, what an ego he has - hes not written anything like what Clapton has and will never play as good as Eric always has.
Songs such as this will ring in our hearts long after EC is done.
I could and will play this over and over again!!!!
Derek, Doyle and Eric showing how it is done, while enjoying themselves immensely. :)
They're all having trouble suppressing smiles of delight!
I saw EC in ‘77 and people were saying he had lost his fastball then. LOL. Still has it as far as I can tell.
So great to see Derek carrying on the family tradition. This is what music is supposed to be...FUN
Eric rarely gets credit for his voice. He is a very good singer. His time with Delaney and Bonnie helped him get over his doubts if he could sing and carry a band that way. Love this song. One of his very best.
He sounds fabulous. I worship this man's music.
So do I! This man has played a massive role in my life.
Me too
Oh yeah! I know this song! I was 10 years old when it came out and was on the radio and it still sounds fantastic today, a bit like blue jeans swaying in the rain and sun.
I can't even express how much I love this
Just let it rain!!
Talking guitars. These boys are the best. Masters at the art

I can watch this a millions times and still want to watch it another million times.
To the person who recorded this. Hallelujah, thank you!
Clapton definitely is sharing he spotlight with Doyle and Derek, the modern Dominoes.
He's never had an issue sharing the stage. One of his best qualities.
@@stevedrums1675 There came only one time he couldn't handle it. In 1966 with Jimi Hendrix.
The GOAT
How Derek Truck and Doyle have changed since the JJ Cale appearances. What a great gathering of musicians.
The King of Blues, Eric Clapton you’re a genius
Looks like they’re having a lot of fun! Great tune, it’s always been one of my favorites.
I was very fortunate to have been there - it was amazing...SO glad I found this video...(now, to find others from the same concert!)
Slowhand at 70 !!! What a fantastic album!!! If you don’t have a copy, I sincerely recommend it!! It’s got a DVD of the concert too. ☮️❤️☮️
Happy birthday Eric your the best
so great to see al the smiles on stage
Beautiful song !
This makes me smile, a lot.
Eric never get enough props for his great voice my favorite song
this makes me smile
STILL JAMMING!
Love his music
Doobie Brothers and Peter Frampton's recent 'isolation times' release a truly great take on this song
I absolutely agree. Anyone who hasn’t seen it yet, should do so. :)
@@bradsmith9189 awesome yes
Great cover
Yes, one of the rare times when a cover is even better than the original.
@@thisplaceisazoono it's not bro

Always someone wanting to argue rather than just enjoying the majestry happening on stage. But you'll get no arguement from me!
Absolutely amazing!
Thanks for posting!
Saw Eric in 2022. Great show
Derek really complements this performance masterfully.
saw him in Austin it was a great concert
Got the chills so bad had to turn up the heat.
When you are 70 years old, has survived drug addiction and look that good. Playing and having fun with friends 😉❤️
Grand Master of the fender 💯💯💯💯

Nice 'fro, DB. Derek soloing-if you close your eyes, you'd swear he's channeling Duane Allman
Derek trucks is a beast
Derek is incredible
so very very good
was there !
Me too
Right On !!!
Fabulous
I totally dig playing this tune with my bass guitar, 🎸🎸🎸😎😎😎
For my Birthday ...I got to play with Derick
High praise from the high priest
Derek's playing reminded me of Duane's playing, lots.

Lo que mas me gustó son las dos chicas del coro. Que bellas
EC is king
I mean...seriously..Clapton AND Trucks?!? Amazing!
Love
It's raining in dry #florida today. Thank you Mother Nature. We don't need wildfires to add to #pandemic and coming #hurricaneseason.
Saw Doyle live in 96 in Austin. He looks a whole lot better here
A+
First time I’ve seen Derek smile and laugh.
Will never understand how the great Doyle plays upside down like that. Makes my brain hurt just thinking about playing that way.
I know boggles the mind
Eric has perfect time, that’s the difference to the other guitarists there.. he ended it before it got outta hand..
Ein ziemlich turbulentes Geburtstags-Ständchen, an dem EC, D.B.II und D.Tr. gleichermaßen viel Freude hatten.
It’s all there
In case you don’t know, Doyle II plays with the strings in reverse order. The smaller string at the top of the fret board.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLUES BOY
CARLOS GUITARLOS 90042
High art
Nice...
go doyle!!!
bad ass
What is Phil Lynott doing up there??
Didn't even realize that was Steve Gadd on drums until the very end... Derek is amazing.
My library
I think you mean Duane not Gregg
Derek Trucks who is in Allman Brothers Band here, playing a Gibson SG.
Since my band is now playing this song, I watched this again to get some more lick ideas for my own soloing at the end. But after watching Derek and Doyle's solos, I only know what I can't achieve. But I'll try to utilize going up and down one single string horizontally more like Derek does.
The left handed player looks like Bob Dylans son Prince
heheheeee.....I was thinkin the same thing
Where is the Bass Final solo ?
Derek sounds like he's still playing slide even when he's playing straight.
I am sure Eric gives them the nod
Little buggers playing over EC's turn at the solo there lmao Great fun :-)
For the love of God let Eric Clapton play the lead !!!
you're missing the point bro... it's a celebration of EC's legacy and these youngin's are paying homage to him by playing his licks... we've seen both of them on stage with him multiple times over the years... that love and admiration shines through clearly... certainly Eric is enjoying it immensely.
I agree, let the other two do their thing but then let Mr. Clapton's guitar eat.
Ha, ha, he didn’t have to in this one. Their birthday gift to their idol.
Huh? That's Derek Trucks and Doyle Bramhall-- Derek is one of the best slide players around today-- and modest!!!! They both can wear out the A chord!!!
Derek Trucks is better than all of them
Is Steve Gad the GOAT or what!
Seems like Eric and Derek are always duelling solos when it comes to the key of A Major. Same thing happened if they jammed together the song "Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad" at the ending part which is was solo on A Mayor. They duelling tooℹ
Doyle looks like a cross between Prince and Noel Redding.
About Derek Trucks I must say, I have never seen him that happy during the years with the Allman Brothers! It seems it's a big relief to him to not be forced to play with them again. Thou not a big fan of the artist
great players, crapy recording and sound

Right cos every concert-goer has a premium camera and mic setup in their back pocket...
Too busy...
So Tom, what message do you want to share here? ...or is just something similar you want to say about your parent? Disgusting!
Derek Trucks and that L handed Bob Dylan need to go shave.
EC jams the chords that Ram!!!
Trucks ain't good enough to play over Clapton's solo, what an ego he has - hes not written anything like what Clapton has and will never play as good as Eric always has.
