This equipment demonstrated by this working video is a 2 ton (2,000Kg) batch multi crop dryer. It dehidrates/dries rice, cacao beans, coffee, corn, groundnut, ginger, onions, garlic, moringer, cashew nuts etc.
It is important to note that each of these produce require different temperatures to bring them to the required moisture content hence the equipment is built to be flexible enough to control the temperature. In the demonstration video, take note that the temperature at the initial entry point is 100 degrees Celsius but was reduced to 40 degrees Celsius by a regulating mechanism before it enters the rice drying bin.
The heat source in this demonstration video is engine waste oil (burn oil)
burnt cleanly by a simple FINIC drip system burner. Biomass such as wood, rice husk etc, can also be used
The power source to generate the air can be an electric motor or Diesel engine of 15Hp.
The drying time for parboiled rice is 12 hours to take it from 30% moisture to the 13% required level for storage. For rough rice, 3 hours is the lowest recorded time.
