I\m drinking it right now, didn't want to break the bank on my first Mezcal. I like the smell and taste of smoke, this is a great starter Mezcal. Smoking ribs is a great analogy.

Islay gets the smokiness from peat, but what does mescaline get its smokiness from?

Mezcal gets its smoky aroma and flavor profile from how the agave is cooked (roasted). The reason tequila is less smoky (or not at all) is the agave is steamed. To us tequila VS mezcal is like stove top cooking VS grilling, they both have a place😎.
