- Today we review three affordable Del Maguey Mezcals. Then we try them in an original Valentine's Day Cocktail, Ashes of an Affair.
We sample Vida, Vida de Muertos, and Chicgicapa from one of the most popular Mezcal companies.
Carl created a cocktail that enhances the nice smokiness of mezcal while giving it a sour and raspberry flavor profile.

I use Vida de Muertos in my Naked and Famous. Just a killer label. Also an amazing cocktail.
Yellow Chartreuse is very hard to finds where I live. I can't wait to try the Vida de Muertos in it.

Oh man I have been loving Mezcal. I have only had the Base Vida and it is so good for mixing. Need to try some of the other expressions.

LOVE, love, love Mezcal!!! This is a fabulous video you guys!! Thanks so much. I am a regular with the second bottle you introduced. I enjoy it a lot. I will find the name of the Mezcal that a friend recently gave me. Oh wow, it was amazing - Casamigos (I went and found the empty bottle!!) - I think this brand makes Tequila as well. It's about $100.00 per bottle. I really enjoy the smoke. Oh I want this cocktail sooo much!! It looks gorgeous with the pink hue!! So perfect for Valentine's Day!! Ashes of an Affair looks like a huge hit!! I have to make this right away!! I definitely get the herbal qualities in the second Mezcal featured. Yay Riley in your guesses!! My first Mezcal was the Vida, love it, so different and yet similar than Tequila which I just started drinking as well

I remember not that long ago when mezcal was the 'cheaper', 'trash' version of tequila. Not that it was, its juat how most people viewed it. And you could get a bottle quite cheap. I gotta admit, in a way i hate when things are 'discovered' and the price more than triples. Good vid, just miss my cheap booze. Lol.
