- Thanks for stopping by my channel and hanging out with me for another video! Today is a part one instalment of my new apartment kitchen organisation - my poor old computer is starting to struggle with bigger files and long videos so I am sharing my Ultimate Kitchen Organisation Makeover in a few videos. Also on the day I filmed this video everyone in the neighbourhood was mowing the lawns, trimming hedges and blower vacuming the heck out of their gardens ready for the Christmas/New Year's holiday so I had to edit over with a soundtrack anyway at least the video is up and I will be sure to include a chatty kitchen tour at the end of the series for those who like talkative videos. Personally, I enjoy a more silent vlog video style sometimes so I guess it's good to mix things up! Also, I am really loving having a kitchen that's not so 'in your face' as ALL my open plan apartments have been for the last five-ish years - it's nice not having to look at a kitchen full of appliances and a sink of dishes (even if they are clean and dryining they still can look messy) I really wanted to minimise the amount of stuff out on the counters to only the stuff we use on a daily basis - I could have kept it even MORE clutter free but it would be way more annoying taking the kettle or toaster or coffee machine out every time I want to use it - I tink this is a nice balance :)

Hey everyone and HAPPY NEW YEAR 🎆 It's already the 2nd of January 2023 here but it's still New Years' Day for many of my viewers :) Hope you enjoy clearing up my kitchen counters and getting vthem clear and clutter free for a fresh start to the New Year - even though this kitchen is not open plan and kind of tucked away (something I am quite happy about!!!) I still want to keep the kitchen counters as clutter free as PRACTICALLY possible - I know I still have things on the counter but it makes NO SENSE to put away things you use every day and especially multiple times a day so this is a happy middle of the road compromise!🤩

Love that new kitchen. I like that it has windows and that it's light coloured. Never been fan of open plan.

Totally love the new apartment especially as you have a window over the kitchen sink. A bright, light filled kitchen is the best and I actually prefer the older style apartments to the new ones!!
These apartments definitely have there good points - if o bought again one like this 70s brick unit - I’d go for a top floor as it’s not super noise insulated if you have upstairs neighbours 🤪😆😅
I live in an apartment from 1902, you hear the next door kids play on the floor, it echoes!
So it good to create a friendly relationship to ask them to keep it quiet :)

For the kitchen countertop, it looks so much better 😊. Would be nice if mine was that way. I live in a small apartment and tiny kitchen. Nice job though.
We are definitely luck for a small 2 bed one bath apartment to have this bigger sized kitchen I know a lot of people would call it small but for us it seems HUGE!!!

Here in California it’s still the 1st. I woke up ready to reorganize and declutter. I was able to tackle the living room and one bedroom. Tomorrow I’ll start the kitchen.

Thank you for the clear your bench video. I was so waiting for this. We have had an air fryer for about 6 months now and find I hardly ever use the oven unless I’m cooking for the family. It was weird at first but now it’s ok to cook anything in it. Love your videos. I eagerly await them thank you.
I prefer cooking in the air fryer oven it does everything from toast to fries and cupcakes…wish I’d gotten one sooner but never really had the space!!!

Nice to see you again, kitchen looks great now! So much bright light, and in the evening turning on a candle or just the light above the stove will make that area so cozy! I'd like to see it in the evening also 🙂

I agree, a lamp in the corner is are great idea. I have one in my kitchen and I have it on all night. I like that it’s on all the time so that when I get up to grab a drink I don’t turn the lights on and it gives off a beautiful ambience.

Your kitchen is similar to mine. Mine is a bit smaller (and shabbier) and we rent a 3br house! Your past videos have helped me get it looking presentable and a lot more functional. This video, even more so. Thank you! You have such a great eye for styling. I’m in my second week of holidays, so the kitchen needs to be tackled this week before I go back to work next week. So this is perfect timing!
I have to go back to work tomorrow too but it’s just part time so I have no excuse not to get this whole house finished off over the next few weeks as the Christmas decorations come down ♥️ if I do get to buy a place this year 🤞 it will most likely be something in this apartments ‘vintage😅’ I did a Reno on a unit just like this that I had five years ago and would love to do it again and this time share it all on YT ♥️♥️♥️

I wish you the best of luck in your search for your new for ever home. It's the same in Dublin, the older apartments might need a bit more work, but they have the bones to be transformed into something very special. I know of an early1960s built one, where the new owner has decided to keep the retro kitchen units and work around them.

I hear you on the deliberations - this has been on the list to buy for about three years!!! I have not used the oven here once (it doesn't work anyway) as the air fryer is so fast and convenient - love that it doesn't make so much heat as well as it's mid Summer here too!!!

Sadly no such luck - she said she had trouble with dishwasher in the past (???) but I can install one if I want as all the connections are ready to go 😅 I'm using it as extra motivation to save that home deposit and buy my own kitchen to renovate 🙌😍

Hi Aniess! Am wondering if it feels strange adjusting to a separate kitchen again, after the open-plan homes you've lived in recently? I personally much prefer the latter design, as the person cooking isn't cut off from the rest of the action. I don't mean that comment in a negative way! Just my preference, having lived in both types of houses. I know you will do wonders with whatever kind of layout challenge you're given! An advantage to separate kitchen is that you can keep cooking smells from permeating rest of house.
If it were an entertainers style house (big enough to fit guests lol) I would probably prefer an open plan style but this seems to suit the space and makes the living area feel less cluttered 😍

It’s back to the exact same style of the last apartment I owned except this kitchen is fully off to the side of the dining room ♥️ will definitely do an apartment tour after each room is finished and after the Xmas decorations are all packed down so it’s back to a ‘new’ normal 🎄🥰
Your kitchen is similar to mine. I love that all handles are applied in one direction and are the same. Versus having knobs and handles on drawers and doors, that irritates me. My handles are just all horizontally. 🥰
I'm so glad I'm not the only one that changes her things around as much as I do. Nigel needs an updated PowerPoint when I move things! Hope your NYE was good. We got up to watch Sydneys fireworks. Very impressive! I do miss it down there, but will be back in April. Can't wait to get back to kmart and Daiso.

The old apartment rent increased $105 per WEEK 😩 so we had no choice but move as it was not affordable xxx

The brand is Smith and Nobel from Harris Scarfe it was on sale 65% off - I really like the oven style and it cooks everything amazingly so far - my only concern is the trays fit very snugly in the oven I am worried it may cause scratches to the interior surface 👍🏻 will need to see over the next few weeks!!!
Hope 2023 is the greatest ever for you and your family. You always make every place into a real home. Just wondering where you got the white thin tray to put under your nespresso machine? I can't find one to fit so I'm not continually cleaning up the water drips these machines make 🎉🥂
It’s an old candle tray from IKEA!!! My coffee machine has started randomly dripping so the tray is perfect!!!
What a nice and bright kitchen! Is a dishwasher supposed to go in the space by the sink? Love your decor touches and how you move items until they are just right. The kitchen looks great!

One question tho. Where'd the dish rack go? I feel like I hand wash dishes so frequently (I don't have a dishwasher), that it wouldn't make sense to put away.
It’s sitting in the sink you can see it at the end - no dishwasher in this apartment ( unless I install one it has the space and all the connections ready) so I am hand washing all the things at the moment 👍🏻

In the glass canisters are Freddie's dog biscuits and his treats 🐕- definitely everyday items they may go in a cabinet once I have organised them but for now it's easiest to have them right at hand xx

Not unless I buy one myself 🥹 there is space and all the connections but the owner isn’t sure if she is keeping this investment and doesn’t want to put one in as she said she had hassles with them previously (not sure if it was with other tenants or herself - seems weird )but if I get sick of hand washing the option is there to instal 😅 🧽 🧼
