Hey Ross imma member of day trade dash and I had a question my hot keys on think or swim will not work pre market and I had my TIF set to extended hours but I couldn’t fill a order till the market officially opened
One more paper month on TOS and I will be there, I figure i should learn the basics without being a pain in your groups tail feathers. made twice my daily goal today.
Ross, My buddy is the best fisherman i have ever known, sometimes he gets skunked and thats just the way it is, they call it fishing and not catching for a reason. Dont overthink it, get a good workout in and some sleep. all will be well on monday. honest advice from someone whos been around a while and built a contracting firm from the ground up. Brother, sometimes the bear gets you. dust off and roll on.
I scalped $230 from BNZI today. So I beat my weekly goal of $750 for a total of $871.81. Had I not had that huge $600 loss on Monday, I'm sure I could have broken $1k in the green this week. It was a good test this week on how disciplined I can be even when I start the week 5% of my total account in the red. I stayed very tight with my strategies which is why I was successful. I hope the weekend goes fast so I can start trading on Monday again! Thanks again to Ross for being such a great teacher. I love your humor, you're low key hilarious.
I had that initial gain on that stock, then gave it away. Still would be green if wouldn’t go red on an option. I am holding that option position. Hopefully goes up on Monday.
I really needed this video! Last week I made $1700 over three days. This week I gave it all away. Journaling my trades opened my eyes to the technical mishaps I was making on entries but I realized the accumulation of emotional discomfort hit me hard yesterday. I journaled every trade and realized I was making the same mistake (over aggressive just like you), I realized the 3 winning days made me impatient and too aggressive. I played things back today and feel 100x better already with my focus and process. My best advice to anyone reading this is to journal every single trade and study every day. Understand WHY you stopped out, what did you do wrong? Were you too early or too late? Once you see the same mistake 10+ times you’ll figure out a way to change if you want to succeed bad enough. Good luck to everyone and thank you Ross for your transparency!
Glad you like it! have you tried the trial we have lots of members that help each other out like this when someone has a red day or helping to AVOID red days! www.warriortrading.com/pro-preview-trial/
Same here, +1700 the past few days. & today stared great, up +500 today in the first 2 hours but kept going and ended up down 1000. I Definitely need to reflect. I did not have a game plan set to walk away when I hit a certain profit or loss.
Ross, I’ve been following you via YT and with WS+2-wk trial. You are an amazing teacher, humble and appreciate your transparency/honesty. Your dedication to “us” is just amazing!! Thanks for all you do to keep helping, sharing, teaching and even more importantly how to create such a positive community of people who want all to succeed!
Thank you! i am happy you joined us on the trial! as you know we do this every day in Warrior trading with members, reminding everyone losses are part of trading along with the big wins!
Dang Ross! your seem so genuine every video. there’s not one guy like you, doing this that’s as transparent as you are ross! i know your helping so many people. every video you drop i learn something.
You probably get thousands of comments like this, but I am so grateful I found your channel, and so thankful for all your help with the ups AND downs of day trading! Thank you so much Ross!! ❤❤❤
I've been following you for years since my dad showed me your channel, and I vastly appreciate the honesty and openness you display. You've taught me a lot, as well as many others. Thanks for making this a reality for so many people, instead of piping a dream like most others on this platform. No flashy bragging, no hiding mistakes, just pure and honest interest in this field. Thank you, Ross, and remember to stay positive! :) If my teacher never made any mistakes, I wouldn't learn much as a student. You taught me that.
A bunch of people I know took a few big losses this week. This week has been a mess and has definitely been triggering emotional hijack! Good on you for taking accountability man, admirable trait 👏
Was watching over your shoulder in the trial. For what its worth, for your viewers and those learning, its times like these and that you share them that lend so much credibility to what you do. Thanks and heres hoping to a better week next week!
This just shows that your human. We all make decisions when we get emotional. Much respect to you for sharing this with us. This is why I follow you're channel... I've never seen anyone do this.
Thanks! “I know the feeling. Keep on Keeping on brother. Relax, take a deep breath, and don’t forget that statistically and historically September is the worst month of the year.”
Ross I’m with you. I usually fall apart when I get too greedy and overstay on a stock, or when I gunsling and fail to plug in a good stop thinking the stock is too hot to backfire.
I love how transparent and genuine you are. You’re real in a world where a lot of people aren’t. I appreciate all of your content. I’m still learning and simple and easy to understand guidance is so helpful. Although you’re a successful trader, it’s good to know you too deal with the same struggles as the rest of us.
Thank you for this post. I needed to hear this after getting hit in the junk hard two days in a row. It forced me to do some hard reflection. I consider you a super-human trader and teacher and this humbling video will help more people. You are still super-human in my book!
Like others said, it's great that you share this. We all do this, especially new traders-- I've found myself going back to my computer later in the day after being up in the morning only to lose it all. It's almost as if the "house" is there to take your money the longer you sit at the table. It is a very hard muscle to train. You had said in another video that it hurts worse to lose than it feels great to win or be green. That seems to be my issue. Not reveling in being green, and being too greedy. Thanks for all you do in the warrior group!
Thanks for the great lesson. This is exactly what I needed to hear. I had a very disappointing week, was up 15k on the month, and gave back 7 in one day, just as you said, breaking my own rules and trading outside my time window. I love the idea of setting a limit till green. That's going on the whiteboard.
Sharing your bad days and not just good days keeps it real for everyone who follows you. You're a great teacher and someone we can all relate to. Sometimes it's difficult to walk away from the work we love and forget it, especially when we work from home. Work, rest and play would be my advice. Thank you for sharing your time and knowledge and good luck for next week.
The honesty and openness about your trading, whether good or bad, is refreshing and very needed for a guy like me who just had a few bad days myself. Thank you sir.
Ross you are so funny! Thanks for the shout out to June aka Girl. She's been with us for a while and we haven't seen her. I really appreciate the commentary from someone as mature and humbled in life as you are, it really helps to consume your content! Have a great weekend and give June a doggie treat for me!
Ross - phenomenal share. Makes you a human as we all are. Incredible how much down to earth you are being up 640K, but still recognizing the issue developing at 10k down. I also have to thank you for sharpening my pencil up and becoming comfortable with a 1m timeframe. Previously I avoided it like fire, but now I use it to my advantage. You also helped to systemize how to approach the 1D, !hr, 15 min, 5 min, and 1 min timeframes. I can see a big shift in my emotions as well which translates to 70/30 positive trades. Unfortunately, still, the negative ones are large enough to wipe out most of my winners, and just like you today I am scanning myself to understand where the problem is. I am in the UK and also find afternoon trading sessions much harder, so much so that I banned myself from making any decisions after 4pm. Thank you for all your videos and recordings. All the best.
Hope youre feeling better Ross. I am a great judge of character and I can tell your name fits. You are an absolute warrior. You analyze and go on!!! Love your energy !!!!!
Ross I just want to let you know how much I appreciate you and what you do. Your UA-cam channel has both educated me and counseled me through some hard weeks of trading. I’m “the world’s worst trader” but I’m trying to stick with it because a injury in my career prevents me from doing anything else currently. Also trading is something I aspired to do since I was a youth. To be truthful you give me hope that I can be successful at trading. If you ever want to take on the challenge of converting “the world’s worst trader” to a competent trader, I’m here. Thank you Brother for what you do. Love your teaching style. You are truly gifted in the art of teaching .
Red Friday for me too.. 1x small winner, 1x full stop - sell in a breakout on high. No emotions! Surviving is more important! Thank Ross for beeing transparent every day.
Sorry for all the loses. Super frustrating. This vid was actually refreshing to me. Everyone always posts gains and don't ever show how hard it can be sometimes. I've been on an unusual green steak lately but today I ate a significant loss on a trade. It was a "good" trade cause I had a plan, but it was no profitable afterall. Emotional aftermath is an occupational hazard, doesn't make it any easier though. Thanks again for keepin it real
Driven people are always the hardest on themselves. One thing I noticed when competing in rodeo was that those who could shake off a loss or a mistake, did better than those who beat themselves up. I struggled with that but the pros APPEARED almost apathetic. Their comments were things like "Not what I wanted", "I know what I did wrong" and "I'll be back tomorrow." I appreciate your self analysis as much as the strategy you teach.
You're awesome Ross and thanks so much for all you do. And thanks for reminding us that no one os perfect. This video is a great reminder for all of us. Thanks again...
Thanks Ross for sharing with us your thought process, elite trader like you still facing fomo and emotional issues figuring out a solution shows us where we need to put effort! Hats off to you as always
*Pat on your back Ross* You'll do good next week cheers! I haven't got out of my negative loop despite following the rules, feeling the fear to press buy button and seeing signal of going up.
When a seasoned and successful trader like you gets these days, just make us understand that greed, pride, and wrong motives can grab us all when trading. Thanks so much for sharing this videos too, because help us in the process and kind of give us hope to keep going and learn from your wisdom
I hear ya man. You're a perfectionist. It hurts. .. But, don't be too hard on yourself. It's ok to make mistakes you're a human being. You know what I would do if I was you? Reward yourself for all your hard work. Take a couple of months, travel, take it slow. Do it solo. Reflect. Relax. ... Then come back. Wiser and more chill. ... Sometimes we gotta go into the bush and recharge. alone.
Thank you for your honesty and transparency. Thank you for posting the good as well as the bad days you have. It really helps us learn and also be realistic in our expectations. A very humbling experience
I had an amazing day today to top the week off big in the green. I had a 4.5k loss earlier in the week, but I didn't let it shake me. Just keep check of your emotions and stick true to your winning strategies.
Love the transparency Ross. These are the episodes that people need to watch. Even very profitable traders like yourself , makes mistakes. But it's cool to see you own it, and to hear what your going to do about it!
I took a loss today as well, you mentioning that the most experienced traders go into a spiral really puts things into perspective for me, chasing the emotion of trading is one of my biggest struggles. Thanks
great video, so honest and raw on so many levels. Have to say, sometimes during your videos I see green spiking behind you, I understand how it can be distracting, as it catches my attention too. This video is now pinned as a weekly "required viewing" Glad you are feeling better, could be covid brain, or could be showing up for SAC push too. Appreciate you and your teaching everything,; the Good, Bad and the not so great too.
Thanks for your honesty. I lost 3 days out of 4 so I sat on the sideline today. It is hard to do when I am seeing stock is going up. I told myself that I must have a good discipline. Monday is a new day for all of us and wishing all of us the best in trading.
I bought you're book on the plain truth of day trading. It's been an amazing read, includes a great amount of knowledge that's easy to understand. After watching this video i'll be taking the free trial soon. Thank you for sharing you're incredible work with us.
I personally think Ross trades with too large or a position. 12,000 shares is huge. What about 2000? Larger share sizes means a larger loss, and a larger win, but you can trade more with fewer shares to make gains.
Its like a boxer.... you get a bunch of big wins and you begin to think your invincible and then you get that 1 fighter that humbles you and makes you think about things again. Look at Rhonda Rousey..... top of the world and boom...looking up at the lights thinking wtfrig just happened!! Its called being humbled but dont forget where you came from and how you got here. Your awesome dude!! Love your take on the trading world
That is why I started taking small sizes and trying not to further fund my account neither when I want to make up for my losses, nor when I am super excited. Smaller sizes, smaller losses and smaller gains, but more stable.
Ross, I think you are a great trader and I follow you since around 2015. One constant with your trading is your FOMO and huge bad trading and you dont use stop loss only mental ones. To lose is part of trading but consecutive losses for the reasons you know well is not great for you. One year I did the calculations of your whole year breakdown of your wins and your losses, and if you had used stop loss (standard ranges) mainly when you are having a bad few days you would have saved 25% to 30% of what you loss(just estimate) . You have resource and trading counselors to assist you. It would be great to see you take definitive action to resolve or minimize this recurring issue. I believe in you, good luck.
Greatest person to learn from for day trading so far for me. I have a question, since you are showing your statistics, how do you not get completely demotivated by the fact that 45% of the money you make, go on comissions/fees/taxes ?
You taught me to anticipate and plan for red days. All businesses account for loss. It’s just part of the game. You don’t need to have FOMO if you don’t want to. You haven’t missed out on anything! You’re extremely successful! I think you need to try to feel that thrill you get from $40K green days when you hit your daily goal. $5K in ONE DAY is INCREDIBLE! You’re incredible, Ross!
The overall market trend was down Friday, saw that first thin in the morning. That's the first question I ask myself as well as breakfast, sleep etc. It was a good day to take off!
1) Statistically, Sept is when the market pulls back. 2) You probably saw PRTG breakout in the afternoon and had FOMO for the rest of the week. 3) FOMC made this a highly volatile/odd week. Love your videos.
Yes, I keep hoping he'll see my comments about it being September, but he hasn't mentioned it and it's really important for him and his viewers to know. He even said it "all started around Sept 1st"!
Even when you take losses, you’re still TEACHING AT PEAK. Thanks for the education Ross! I’ve learned to take the base hits and just run. Tomorrow is another day, to take another “base hit!”
Ross, I've just been following your podcast past 2 mos since July, I was left scratching my head w/ 5 figure profit day trading. It wasn't explicit; but now I realise you were swinging 4 fences w/ 50 to 100 lots.
I watch your videos all the time. Very informative. Thank you for all of your time and work in putting out these videos. I took the 2 week trial and I really like the momentum scanner it helps alot. It's very helpful being able to see what your actions are and the real time commentary. I actually might buy your monthly plan once just to show appreciation for all the other knowledge. Thank you! Too expensive for me to buy more atm. But hopefully with your help that will change. I'm curious if you could show your lvl 2s also when you trade so I can watch along with what you're seeing there. That would be very helpful and appreciated! Thanks ross! You tha man!
I feel for you bro. Losing like that is sometimes a false confidence built upon those long green streaks…. For me, no matter the day i start out kinda meditating on my starting balance and as best I can reset into the reality that today is a brand new day with risk not tied to the day before, green or red. Definitely an emotional war to stay balanced
I absolutely love your transparency and honesty, thank you for that! Aside from some’FOMO’ do you find yourself to be a perfectionist in your daily life? I ask because I find that trait in myself and while it’s a great trait for some things, sometimes it can get in the way of other tasks.
Happens to the best of us. I know because Ross is the best at this 😅. Outside of being able to control my own spirals, I feel like if I shore up my P/L ratio I'm good to go at this point, but the mental/discipline battle is so real. Ross is spot on with the key being avoiding getting triggered in the first place. Can't wait to try Ross's 1 trade a day for 10 days challenge, but still honing my rules and want to try a new risk management system in the sim first. Thanks as always Ross!
If I'm being totally honest, I've ALWAYS traded with emotional baggage. It's obviously what's holding me back and I'm working hard on it, but naturally it's not simple.
I'm currently recovering from the same sort of emotional trading. I've been practicing trading for 3 years with no real luck and I finally decided to document my trades and religiously stick to my plan. Well, I went from $75 to $42k in less than a month. Then I became reckless and would try to jump in in a trade before the candle would finish printing and I'd also hold past my stop loss and get slaughtered. It was downhill from there...but now I'm sticking to my plan and growing my account once again. Emotions are definitely the hardest part for me...just need to recognize when you're having these type of thoughts
Thank you for sharing this! I was feeling really down earlier this week because I had gotten FOMO when SPY was uptrending. It started to turn down and I was down $200 when I jumped out. Sure enough the moment I did the market shot to all time highs....
Thanks Ross. I really need to see this. Same thing happened to me last friday. From breakeven most of the morning, then up to 2k+ then finish the day -5k. Could have easily walk away with 2k but ended up revenge trading the whole day.
I completely understand this video man. My first week of day trading instead of swing trading I literally doubled my account and I was shocked. The very next week I gave it all back.
I had the same thing, i had a rough day yesterday, today i came in and in the back of my mind the goal was to make back the loss not trade the market im in. Ironically the market did exactly what i wanted and i wasn't able to capitalize because I was still emotionally triggered from yesterdays rough day.
We now offer a 2 Week Trial for $19. Give it a try and see for yourself what it's like! 🍏 www.warriortrading.com/pro-preview-trial/
Thanks! 🎉
I will Look IT ups when I'm 18 then i can trade with your setup wich looks very beginner friendy

Huge respect to you, Ross!
Indeed a lot of courage is needed to show up your Red days and do that in such a sincere way as you do!!
The market has been nasty these days. Very often the stocks squeeze and jacknifes
100% truth
Thanks!

Thanks for being transparent Ross. I admire you for this.

Great discussion, Ross, as always! Maybe turn off the watch list monitors in the afternoon, alongside your next week plan.
When a seasoned and successful trader like you gets these days, just make us understand that greed, pride, and wrong motives can grab us all when trading. Thanks so much for sharing this videos too, because help us in the process and kind of give us hope to keep going and learn from your wisdom
Very enlightened episode Ross. Thank you.
Wiser and more chill. ... Sometimes we gotta go into the bush and recharge. alone.
This is cracking me up... because it reminds me of my own internal dialog when the day is going red.
Thanks for everything you do Ross you're awesome.
Thank you for your honesty and transparency. Thank you for posting the good as well as the bad days you have. It really helps us learn and also be realistic in our expectations. A very humbling experience
I appreciate you sharing your wins and losses. Gives me motivation to not be discouraged if the trades dont always go my way.
Thank you for existing, you are the Bob Ross of day trading. Big green days on the way!
I had an amazing day today to top the week off big in the green. I had a 4.5k loss earlier in the week, but I didn't let it shake me. Just keep check of your emotions and stick true to your winning strategies.
Been trading 5 years and I STILL learn something everyday. 😬
Love the transparency Ross. These are the episodes that people need to watch. Even very profitable traders like yourself , makes mistakes. But it's cool to see you own it, and to hear what your going to do about it!
COVID is bad in the Berks for the last month, I was also blessed with it. Feel better!
I took a loss today as well, you mentioning that the most experienced traders go into a spiral really puts things into perspective for me, chasing the emotion of trading is one of my biggest struggles. Thanks
Wahoooh you are very transparent guy to show us your backend. Kudos to you sir!!!
great video, so honest and raw on so many levels.
Stop trading past 11am!!
@@Franky73-Canada yeah anything after late morning is about 90% chance for failure eh!
I disagree. I've had some great afternoon trades.
^when it’s on emotion
lol
Seems like it could be a new challenge to only trade after 11 am.
Right
ross, sincerely - thanks for your transparency, if it wasn't for this post I might have given up on trading
Yes, it never leaves you, you have to deal with it forever.
Hi Ross, just want to say
you're Incredibly real and thanks for that
Ross. You are my hero for your honestly and transparency. These videos are really helpful and inspiring.
I appreciate that!
Thanks for your honesty. I lost 3 days out of 4 so I sat on the sideline today. It is hard to do when I am seeing stock is going up. I told myself that I must have a good discipline. Monday is a new day for all of us and wishing all of us the best in trading.
My trading tip is don’t over trade. No need to trade everyday.
this is very good advice👍
I bought you're book on the plain truth of day trading. It's been an amazing read, includes a great amount of knowledge that's easy to understand. After watching this video i'll be taking the free trial soon. Thank you for sharing you're incredible work with us.
If you are looking for a free course, check out the channel!
Man I can relate but on smaller scales
I personally think Ross trades with too large or a position. 12,000 shares is huge. What about 2000? Larger share sizes means a larger loss, and a larger win, but you can trade more with fewer shares to make gains.
XPON was insane this morning!!!!
The most penniest Stock that ever existed
That’s one of the only 3 stocks I traded today. Up 800 today
Green day there!🎉
@@ryanadams0922 real. I had my finger hovering over the sell button the whole time lol. Once RSI went down to 68 I sold after the peak
@@jayj.2297 congrats!
Omg thanks Ross ..I was so pissed yesterday everything was going up and I kept on losing…and you nailed it perfectly thanks for sharing
Talk about laying your trading-soul bare! Thanks Ross!
Exactly!
The overall market trend was down Friday, saw that first thin in the morning. That's the first question I ask myself as well as breakfast, sleep etc. It was a good day to take off!
Exactly. Knew it would be slow cause if yesterday
You’re the best!
Thank you! I am happy you enjoyed the trial I hope to see you again soon. I cant stream level 2 data due to regulations!
Yes!
Thank you sir for your wisdom and sharing your own failures and mistakes, it makes all a better trader each day.
This is such a great video. It is all self control.
I didn’t go Red today… but I unfortunately found myself doing the blame game on my afternoon trades…. Thanks for helping us get better together Ross!
Yup this happens and it happens more often than you think.. thanks for sharing
Are you doing it on margin ??
@@farahjawad696
Nope, cash account
I went from double my daily goal straight to my max loss, i needed this… thank you
I have done this.. its the worst feeling because we had it in our hands and just let it go!
Get well brother
Thank u Ross boss!
It is so frustrating!
I completely understand this video man. My first week of day trading instead of swing trading I literally doubled my account and I was shocked. The very next week I gave it all back.
This is exactly what’s been happening to me this week, fortunately I was able to control myself and ended up in BE
love ya ,Ross!
I had the same thing, i had a rough day yesterday, today i came in and in the back of my mind the goal was to make back the loss not trade the market im in. Ironically the market did exactly what i wanted and i wasn't able to capitalize because I was still emotionally triggered from yesterdays rough day.
