    I recommend upgrading the hitch. They are known to be weak link. Also they do make a 3/4ton suburban Ls also with a 6.0 or 8.1

      I actually upgraded trucks in my last video :) I got the 8.1 in a Silverado, I was looking at an 8.1 burb but they don’t come with the Allison trans like the duramax trucks

      @@Rxstro is it a big difference in towing?

      @Rxstro  6 місяців тому +1

      @@moejr14 Yea the 5.3 gets the job done or the 6.0 but doesn’t even compare to 8.1

    1500(1/2 ton) don’t come with a transmission temp gauge from factory unless they are the HD 1500. 2500(3/4 ton) trucks/suburban and Yukons come with transmission temperature gauge stock.
    I would definitely recommend switching to a 4.10 rear end if you plan on keeping this long term. Will help towing. 4L60 should get a shift kit too to help it shift quicker. You said it, they really aren’t that good. Good thing you’re putting a cooler.
    Definitely use the tow/haul button if your burban has it.

    • @Rxstro
      @Rxstro  Рік тому +1

      yea i had got the new cluster the day after lol and we’ll see about the shift kit and gear ratio, I’ll prob keep it for a bit unless I really start going out every weekend to the track, then I’ll start to look for a 4l80 Chevy or a diesel!
      I have to fix my abs module to be able to use the tow button haha will do it soon

    • @Knownworldwide
      @Knownworldwide Рік тому +2

      @@Rxstro really? Classic ABS and brake lights on the cluster? Happens to all of these things. Check the ground on the frame just under the driver seat and check the ground on the back side of the cylinder head on the driver side. Sometimes those get loose or corroded.
      My tow/haul button works just fine. My abs and brake lights have been on for 8 years my guy. I actually took the cluster apart and put tape over the lights so I don’t have to see them anymore haha. I have a 2500 Yukon xl with the 6.0 and 4L80e. 345k miles on it and it’s still going.

    • @Rxstro
      @Rxstro  Рік тому

      that things a unit I bet, damn so why doesn’t my tow light turn on haha any idea?

    • @Rxstro
      @Rxstro  Рік тому

      and I know it’s my abs module cus when it’s plugged in my abs pump is always on lol and when I swapped it with a junkyard one the light went away but my brakes felt weird when coming to a stop so I unplugged it again lol but it didn’t match the original pin count to begin with so maybe I just need my specific model and package module? not sure I’ll figure it out lol

    • @Knownworldwide
      @Knownworldwide Рік тому +1

      @@Rxstro you could plug it back in and then read what codes you’re getting with a scanner capable of reading abs codes and fix whatever is broken.
      Your button could also be broken. I’ve seen that before.

    its easier to load my 240 if i drive up on my car ramps on the rear tires of my suburban, or look for a hump to back up on with the rear tires, it lowers the back of trailer so incline isnt so radical . i have a 03 sub with a alumilite car trailer.

    How it feels towing with the suburban? It has enough power?

    • @Rxstro
      @Rxstro  7 місяців тому +1

      it got the job done for sure! but would feel sluggish uphills and overall you just have to be patient with the truck can’t expect it to be pulling effortlessly, with the proper maintenance and upgrades like the trans cooler to keep the trans alive I’m sure these trucks last forever and tow great ! I just recently sold mine and upgraded to a bigger truck, it will be the next video posted probably next week :)

      @@Rxstro I see I can’t wait to see your new truck. Usually I tow with a gmc sierra duramax and it has more that enough power to tow. But I’m building a c30 with a ls swap from a suburban I was wondering if it has enough power to tow I guess I will find out in a few weeks..
