James if you read this you almost got me fired. I watched your shot at work on my phone and yelled F#*! yeah and jumped all over the place. Landed me in my super's office. In short TOTALLY WORTH IT all I have to do is think about that moment and TA DA good mood.
I was on my break, luckily. I showed my boss and he was like "wow bad ass" He doesn't even play or watch DG. Most anyone who doesn't is completely impressed with the shot.
Good grief, I just love James Conrad. What a cool guy. He seems like so many of the amazing people I met back in the day at Dead, Phish, WSP, Rat Dog, etc., shows. Nomadic drifters who just rambled around the country, following the music, enjoying life, spreading positivity and happiness. It made me so happy when he signed with MVP. They were the first manufacturer that I attached to when I first started playing and looking to buy myself some new discs beyond the random beat-up entry level ones I was given by my best friend, who was trying to entice me into the sport. James was one of the very first pros I took an instant liking to as well, because he just seemed like the kind of person who I naturally gravitate to in social situations. It all just became a perfect storm that coalesced into my dude becoming the new World Champion, and face of my favorite manufacturer. The coincidence of it all just blows my mind, and even more so now after watching this video, and my realization that I already bag and throw about 75% of the molds he just showcased. Many thanks to James, and all the great folks at MVP/Axiom/Streamline for bringing me, and so many other people, huge amounts of entertainment, excitement, and pride. Keep on keepin' on Mr. Conrad. I'll keep on picking up what you're putting down.

If you're not playing on lead or chasecard on video I try to follow on Udisc Live. I think you are one of the more respectable and mature role-models of the sport. I really wish ALL the best for you and your fmly.
I just got into disc golf and I have really been enjoying the MVP discs. Ive been trying all kinds of discs out and so far the mvps are my favorite. Love my Hex mid range disc it has been my best disc as a starter hands down.
I love how you guys do the in bags! You always add details and the speed rating of each of the disks. And it is so nice that you put all of the disc with ratings up at the same time at the end of the review!! You think about what Will be useful for your client - the viewer. That’s professional. Also always love Conrad’s comments his professionalism and his just easy-going attitude.
I gotta say, my first MVP disc was the Relay and the first time I threw it I was hooked. I love the thick edges and thinner flight plate. Goes *dead* straight for me on a moderate hyzer release (my form is still a little round) and very consistently 300+ feet. If it's gotta be low and/or straight, and I can't get my Roc3 there, the Relay is the one I choose!
Clicked for fanboy reasons stayed for an immaculate video from all involved. James Conrad has a relatable presence. The rate he learns an individual disc is astounding. As a fellow plastic hoarder you can admire the subtle sales pitch in the informational breakdown. It never felt forced and the breakdowns were so natural they could only come from intimate knowledge of the flight of each disc. Personally i filled two gaps just from this video, albeit, admittedly i came to find discs to buy that he throws because fanboy reasons. Really dig the layout of the video the flight path cuts are gonna sell discs. plain and simple. great edit.
First. I was throwing envy's before James was, he still throws them better then me though. I also have a 200 foot throw in with my envy, mine got me a 150 dollar ace pot, not a world championship unfortunately lol.
First Axiom disc I got was an elec-firm Envy and I bought and threw the shit out of them they really are a sweet disc. I call a Conrad shot from about 250 with one and dead center spit with it. Wouldn't have been worth anything though.
Insanity has been great to me. Though as I’ve progressed, I’ve been turning it over too much and think I should step up to the photon. MVP discs have the best lineup and the looks to match.
Do you throw it flat? As they beat in a little, they become amazing hyzer flip discs. Super straight, just have to find out how much hyzer to flip up from the maximize glide
@@spockhozzer7207 I throw it on severe hyzer angle and it will flip up flat then slowly turn over without coming back. I’ve got new ones with the same result. Great for that specific shot, need to up the stability. Perhaps a more stable plastic, I currently have all 3 in proton plastic.

The Photon is actually quite stable, James makes it look like it's not, but it is. If you can find one, get a Wave before trying a Photon, or just get like a 154-162g Fission Photon. Even the light one's fade hard until you beat em in a bit. My guess is your Insanity will fly farther than a Photon for some time. Especially if you get a heavier Neutron, or Plasma, they will dump hard unless you have 400'+ power or force a flex shot. The Wave is definitely the big bro of the Insanity, it'll be much smoother of a transition and will actually go farther faster. They are just impossible to find right now. MVP PLEASE MAKE MORE FISSION WAVES!!!!! I'm to scared throw the ones I have sometimes, since I can't replace them. 100% agree with your last sentence though. Anyway, hope that helps a little.
Haha love James, glad he took down Paul made me so happy. MVP/Streamline really changed my game year 2 of me playing it, drift/insanity/stabilizer really turned my play so much better and got me away from basic innova stuff....so hell yeah to james and MVP disc, seems like a solid relationship and fantastic discs....now only if i could get my hand on some around here lol.
Huh, glad I picked up extra Reactors, a spare SE Hex, and several Pyros during the last restock, as I imagine those'll be hard to find now. Nomad in plasma immediately made the bag for approach shots. Honestly, makes me feel very smart that a lot of my bag overlaps with JC's bag, too.

BS luck? Robbed? There's historical video evidence of James throwing that anny flex shot and getting close to the basket. While it was definitely a very rare occurrence, and yeah sure some luck was involved, that luck was tempered with skill and intent. But I wouldn't say he robbed Paul of anything. It was a good match between two great competitors. Paul still had a chance during the playoff, but he threw it into the water. That shot was one of the best things to happen in disc golf. No offense to Paul fans because I am a Paul fan, but if Paul won no one would remember it. "Yeah Paul got his sixth".... *snore*. But James making that shot and beating Paul did far more for disc golf. People are still talking about the shot today, people are still congratulating James. That shot got on ESPN and made number one and got people interested in the sport.
Question?? Is it legal to throw a shot "underhand"? I have not tried it yet Lol's but the thought just popped in my head sitting here watching players throw during Green Mountain Championship. I see people throw overhand, sidearm, backhand...do PDGA rules say that it's illegal to throw underhand, not sure why anyone would though?

Reactor, Hex, and Pyro is the deadliest Mid combination in all of disc golf.
The Hex is an absolute missile. It goes almost as far as my destroyers. Mid ranges are not supposed to go that far.
I really should buy my friend's Hex off of him. He's hooked on the DGA mids. I currently use a Pyro, Drone and Buzzz to cover mid stabilities
Interesting, I just started throwing a Pyro and love it. The Hex has been in the bag for a couple of months. Sneaky long disc.
The Pyro is just a perfect os mid. Can still flip up or hold a long anny, but gosh darnit, that thing will always fight its way back

So I just got the skull boy hex and I'm loving it! Also got the deflector and its a beast forehand 🤙
I throw my Deflector as a thumber 300’ straight down the fairway. Works great with trees blocking

My neutron Insanity is a laser straight sidearm if I power down a smidgeon. Awesome disc

I've tried deeper putters(never felt right in hand), but the envy is just perfect hand feel for me.
