  • I didn't have a plan going into this build. I just winged it 100% and I think it turned out pretty well.

I've really enjoyed watching your videos. They're filled with tons of tips and tricks, I especially liked the lip slot jig, it's really taken my baits to the next level. Also it was nice meeting you at the 2024 PA Musky Max (I was the one that asked your opinion on a bait I made). I also can't wait to give that piglet a try on my Ohio waters this year. sent a sub your way.

Hey when you screw a bait up like that you can just put it in supper hot water, 180-200 degrees and let is soak for 10-15 minutes. The acrylic paint will wrinkle up and fall off then you can start over. As it was I think you were able to save it with painting over it and it turned out pretty cool. Well done another great video.

One think I have found your tie point should be directly above the front of the lip. When making a shallow running lure. Sometimes you can add a split ring to extend your tie point to get a better consistent action. I always enjoy watching your videos and your painting.

I use the shallower lip angle often. I make baits for a shallow rocky river. Preferably slow float. Good work and great video! Liked and subscribed!

New York huh. Have you ever come to northern Minnesota? Boundary waters?
    Great videos by the way.

I have a vice that I glued abrasive sponge pads to. So you can clamp down on your lure as hard as you want and it won't dent it. And it'll grip your bait 👍🏻

They make vice covers, i bought some a couple years ago. They have magnets embedded in them, that's what holds them in place. Mine are a hard orange plastic.

It wasn't a terrible job at all. I refer to imperfections as "ambiance".

Is there are reason you don’t drill holes through block while it’s still square before you cut out profile of bait

Nice bait! Love your work! What is it you seal your baits with?

Sanding sealer. You can basically use any wood sealer.

You skipped how you turn the thorough wire into a loop at the tail end, I can’t understand how you do it!

The sanding sealer type, would a laquer based minwax be better than the water based? I use createx paints. Thanks for the video man.

I do too if I'm going to sell the bait. But the ones for UA-cam get the rush job treatment.

Old family recipe. Any wood sealer from a woodworking store would do.

@Past Masters, I told him the same thing, but I have to admit the placement sort of gives them that stylized retro look which is starting to grow on me. I seriously doubt the fish care.

    • @zzz7zzz9
      @zzz7zzz9 2 роки тому

      The fish don't care.
And, there are fish who have false eye-dots near their tail, to deceive predators. So, there's really no such thing as 'too far back'.
