I like how Frisk literally died the opposite way Chara did. Chara died having their soul absorbed by Asriel, but taking over control not letting him slay the humas as Frisk on the other hand died absorbing a monster soul and having their control overtaken by Asgore, not letting them leave. Very Fascinating.
Welcome to 2015-2016 Undertale AUs, the times when people would actually make Undertale AUs instead of just edgy Sanses or the most generic fusion combinations possible of the same 4-6 AUs.
Honestly, this AU seems to do a better job than most versions of Underfell when it comes to showing an underground where canon Flowey's "kill or be killed" philosophy is the norm.
After watching this, I appreciate Negativetale more and it's now one of my favorite aus. It really feels like Underfell 2.0. Flowey is trying his best to save you so you can go home, Toriel is batshit insane bc of her deceased children and it's trying not to let the same fate happen to you, Sans being a selfish greedy man but is surprising has a decent heart. Papyrus has none, being a cruel, aggressive powerhouse, Undyne's a corrupt guardian that's obsessed with Asgore, Mettaton being like the only nice girl that wants to make people smile with her tv series and etc. I might make my own au take based on this series but more turned up.
Okay the introduction to Toriel is so well done I have to make a comment before even finishing the ruins. She comes in and talks about how she never thought she would see us again, which tells us everything we need to know about her mental state, then we see that she straight up destroyed the puzzles (I am 2:29 minutes in, nothing I say is a huge spoiler) and KEEPS HOLDING OUR HAND, and then we got the froggit scene and honestly it speaks for itself
Negativetale has always been interesting to me. I remember reading on some wiki that MTT was a girl in this AU and was the only kind person in the Au. I'm looking forward to another great video for a very based guy.
This negative tale left a sad and bitter taste which isn’t bad and it not having a happy ending for frisk/player was interesting and having some of the major characters he killed was cool and the story was quite interesting with some characters being so different from what you’d expect and this story was in my opinion the story was a cruel reality that shows how not every story will end on a happy note
I think what would've been cool to see is Flowey absorbing the souls and forcing asgore to lose the will to fight, while you try to take control of the soul again. Some psychological warfare would be pretty cathartic against Asgore honestly. Also I like your idea, it makes sense that at least some monsters try to appreciate what they have instead of cosplaying spartan lol At the very least this AU needs something to make it at least a little less grim IMO
@@HonkaiArmy I think that would be cool, but probably still doing damage like normal. Like he'll take control but since asgore isn't God he'll slip up eventually. As he takes more damage you can control the soul more and more (and thus damage him further until your in full control)
the ending was kinda bullshit but i appreciate the message it was trying to tell. its kinda of a reverse undertale being nice to these monsters did nothing, they all still died in the end after all, it actually just made things worse. If frisk had killed the monsters and gained lv they would've been capable of holding out against asgore's soul

I do think this au could've gotten a happy ending. I imagine a route where Flowey resets the timeline and aids the human in changing the monsters' ways, successfully sparing them and actually becoming friends until the final fight against Asgore, who enraged by the betrayal of monsterkind would absorb the souls, but eventually be defeated by the power of determination and love. I do like the twist of the other side of the coin of undertale's message, but this does feel like an unfinished story. Anyway, the french dub is great

It’s just that they have all of their worst traits bumped up to 11 while removing most of their nice traits. It’s honestly just kinda depressing. It’s not fun, not funny, not emotional, it’s just upsetting. And the ending makes it all feel completely pointless since nothings changed and Flowey failed and everyone died. It’s edgy with absolutely zero purpose aside from making you go “maybe being nice in Undertale was stupid.” Which, obviously, completely misses the point of Undertale.

Perhaps Flowey became Asriel again and went to see what Chara liked about the surface. He has all the souls available and likely wants to rest after all the carnage down there.
To be honest, I’m not too much of a fan of evil versions of Asgore either, as a lot of them have no depth to them, and are just evil, edgy, and that’s it, though there is this one old Underfell animation from 2016 that revolves around Asgore in Underfell, and there’s a whole long battle and everything. Even though through most of the fight he is pretty much Satan incarnate and brags about how ruthless and awful he is, he eventually sees that your kindness and determination isn’t giving up, he basically ends up breaking down, realizing how pathetic he really is, beginning to truly see how much damage he is done to the kingdom and his people, and that his anger was all over the loss of his children, he pretty much wants you to kill him for his actions. That’s atleast what I could find on an “evil Asgore” that gives more character to him, yes the fight in the animation is edgy, but in my opinion the ending is really good and emotional.
@@MikeJoe-jy5kp Attacking the first froggit might make it run away out of fear because you didnt do enough damage to kill him, saving his life. This is speculation, but maybe itd show that you're capable of defending yourself, thus, making toriel decide to be a little more merciful and spare some monsters. that, or the froggit warned the others about what you did and maybe warn that toriel is starting to kill monsters and most monsters go into hiding, thus, you accidentally save the lives of most ruins monsters. Beating toriel up could lead to multiple things, maybe toriel is like "oh, you're not my child, they wouldnt be so violent towards their own mother" and whatever then lets you go for the misunderstanding, or maybe she's weakened enough for flowey to hold her still with his vines for a few moments because flowey wouldnt want her to die, giving frisk time to escape without having to kill toriel and frisk runs to the exit horrortale-style, or something else i guess. Beating papyrus up makes sans consider letting you fight papyrus and see if you can win, once you beat papyrus up enough, he'll realize you're stronger than him, so the fight ends and he begins to take his leave, and barely grazes sans's attack from the sudden movement, causing papyrus to get angry at him and then sans teleports away. Papyrus looks back at you, "ONCE I RECOVER MY STRENGTH, I'LL TRAIN, AND I'LL GET STRONG ENOUGH FOR A REAL MATCH!", then flies away. Also, Mkid saw your battle with papyrus from the waterfall entrance, so he might feel intimidated and keeps his distance away from you, or fights you to see your strength, using his magic to summon some objects for you to hit or smthn, of course, trying to hit him makes him panic and run away out of fear, which saves him, then as you try to get past the bridge, a spear comes out, and undyne appears, starting a battle on the same room as the undyne the undying fight, you can still flee, but if you beat undyne up to half of her hp, she accidentally drops the explosive thing she carried in pacifist, she manages to barely grab it in time, but undyne ended up wasting her turn, if you hit undyne again, you end up throwing her off the bridge, but in the end, she'll survive this knowing that undyne survives the fall in the og undertale, so she actually managed to survive this fight. Fighting mettaton ex would make him willing to fight back, so the ratings actually go up, eventually, mtt gets the idea of doing a sparring combat to keep the ratings going up, without actually intending to kill you, so he turns into neo, and the fight is slightly more intense, think of it like ut papyrus's fight where getting knocked down to 1 hp ends the fight early, so you gotta keep yourself well-healed during the fight. Alphys eventually gets frustrated with her plan not working, so she comes into the room right as mtt neo uses his blaster, alphys eating an attack that gets her knocked out, and mtt neo stops the fight to try to take her back to the lab, however, the monsters watching the show think that mtt did that on purpose and the ratings go up even more, frisk leaves the stage, as mtt was left alive. Now, sans, theres no reason for him to want to fight you at all, but lets make something up: sans realizes that there's a pattern here, everytime you beat the enemy up, they come out of it alive. and this worries sans, what if fighting asgore doesnt get him killed, and only ends in frisk's death? If asgore gets the 7 human souls, they're all screwed, so sans decides to fight frisk and take their soul, he wants to fix things, and during the fight, he talks about how he doesnt actually want to hurt you, he just wants to prevent asgore from winning, he wants to fix everything. He mentions that your actions ended up keeping a lot of bad people alive (since this is the equivalent to genocide, we're assuming that frisk didnt take sans's offer and went through snowdin forest, fighting everything on their path), he says that he planned to kill papyrus, and mentions that he shouldnt have trusted that you'd be able to finish the job for him, he tells you undyne had a last resort plan to blow herself up, and how your attack ironically saved her life. He tries to make you think, why would you try to keep so many messed up people alive, despite them posing a danger to everybody else? So sans feels responsible for not being able to do better for the fallen monsters's sake or whatever. Of course, when you reach the end of the fight, sans teleports away. Beating asgore up ends up making his soul weak enough for you to retain control over your body, you and flowey leave the underground, seeing the sun rise like in ut's true pacifist ending.
Actually in the epilogue its implied the remaining Monsters would Just slaughter each other until there's no One left alive and the underground will be left completely desert
I really like this and the fangame is interesting too Ps: I’m French so I understood what the character were saying but I was focus the English translation that was kinda funny
I just want to say this as a criticism. You should consider typesetting a bit more, the big white text on clear backgrounds and on top of the white/clear effects makes it a bit less easy to read. Maybe using smaller fonts/text to the side when characters are speaking would help a bit, it'll still read fine in 720/1080p.
well this AU is full of consequences of the monsters' wrongdoings. Like every boss fight ended with they killed themselves (including Papyrus "kills" himself for mistreating Sans).
About time you get an outline on your text. I could barely read anything in alphys’ lab. Despite that, it’s still a great video. Your truly a *based guy*
At first, i thought negative tale was undertale but bandit sans. But the moment i saw the interaction between him and papyrus in snowdin (the first one)... ...Yikes.
So out of all the Aus I feel the main cast such as Alphys, Asgore and Undybe don't get enough spotlight and that's a real shame. Because most UT explore mostly the Skeleton brothers so much it feels frustrating. They never get enough spotlight on any interpretations of their character. But in this Battle Royale AU , I liked how the monsters here would show their differences if they never were helped by Frisk especially Undyne and Alphys. Undyne wasn't a horrible person. In fact she wad just a loyal person who wanted to help her fellow monsters. She is a supportive person and she got along with you thanks to you being well nice. She's not my favorites not by a long shot I just feel she never gets enough focus on her character. Though I liked her and I believe she is the most likeable UT character besides Papyrus. But besides other Aus such as Underfell, Inverted Fate and this Au I love a villainous Undyne. As much as I love Undyne she isn't entirely good as she is still one of Asgore's elite soldiers and captain of the royal guard. I'm sure she eliminated humans during her time and in this Au Undyne is not the same Undyne we love. The Undyne in Battle Royale is a merciless individual and unlike the Undyne who respected us for our honor and value, she is a ruthless individual now and I believe its possible The Undertale Undyne may not agree with this might slowly enjoy it until she becomes a villain. After all she is loyal to the Monster's Cause and I do feel she could be a horrifying monster if she hadn't met Frisk. Wihtout Frisk, Undyne would've been terrifying and be a loyal hand to Asgore. Now lets explore Alphys aka my favorite character. (And I will defend Alphys because she deserves more appreciation) I feel AUs should explore more on Villainous Alphys. I love my Failure Girl Dinosaur Geek be a villainous mad scientists that lost her morals and ethics. (Also I'm a sucker of Mad Scientist and Doctor Characters in general) So for Alphys in this AU I feel she would be the most terrifying. Without Frisk to help her open up her mind, Alphys is now unable to learn from her mistakes. She never learned how to move on and here she is now a cold scientist. BR Alphys doesn't sugarcoat her actions. She instead has lost her humanity and instead act like a machine. She doesn't hide any grudges or remorse, this Alphys is honest and tells us she is evil and that's what makes her terrifying. She treats Mettaton as a tool rather than an annoying rolemate. Metta wants to be free from their control, but Alphys never respects him back. She lost her geeky side and now acts like a scientist to make ends meet. As for Asgore, I feel most Aus try to make him evil or don't do anything wih him. I know Undertale doesn't explore him as much since he appears at the end of the game, but that's the point of his character. We think he's a tyrant but after we find him he's a king who questioned his ruthlessness and now lives alone to deal with the consequences. But this Asgore never does. He does not regret everything he did. And unlike the Oriignal Asgore who wanted to make amends, Asgore became a ruthless tyrant. I feel if an AU wants to explore Asgore as a villain, I believe evil Asgore should be someone who is beyond redemption. Someone who lost their own morals for the better good. And I like this AU of Asgore. Overall Negativetale is an interesting concept and while I fo feel it tells too much rather than showing. Or showing more insight on the monsters. I feel this could happen in the original Undertale if they became desperate to defeat the Humans. This may not be in my top 5 but top 10 for me on favorite Aus.
yeah that ending does feel like a non ending huh? maybe instead of a game over giving your soul up to make 7 reviving Assy to rule the underground into a more peaceful and prosperous future would have been more interesting then simply dying
@@ahmetbulutguner1198 uhh no they "absorbed" asgore's soul intertwining them like assy and chara's were he fought to become the dominant personality in that body but that soul was techinically a human and boss monster soul making it more powerful then a single human soul not less

Koreans are pretty awesome,= with food, movies/tv shows, being overall nice people (In South Korea, anyway) and now something like this! Something I like about the skelebros dynamic is that it feels the opposite of what we've come to except from UF projects, especially Ryno's. Papyrus, normally the nice guy in any UT AU is outright evil and narcissistic, while sans is the one being pushed around by him. Heck, in DT aus, sans only tries to harm his brother because he's convinced himself it's the right thing to do, and in GGUF, sans is malicious but is more apathetic, not caring if Papyrus gets hurt or not but not really going out of his way to do so like with Frisk or Kris and co. Here, Papyrus threatens sans with taking out another eye, implying he's already done it before, and the context implying he did it the first time simply because he wasn't happy with sans. Also, I like the color dynamic with the two. And Toriel feels like a take distinct from UF, as she can't really be reasoned with or trusted, she's dangerous and mentally unstable.

Perhaps Flowey became Asriel again and went to see what Chara liked about the surface. He has all the souls available and likely wants to rest after all the carnage down there.
Secret, unseen, good ending wholesome
32:21 Eyyyyyyy, I know that Sans
this version of napstablook really puts the nega in negatale
U should cover the genocide route for this au (even tho there isnt much aside from the beggining of the sans fight)
the less known negative
From what I read about Negativetale on the wikia, this AU's Mettaton is female, another curious different approach.
this AU is kinda dark
wait, DARK??? LIKE GA-
"throught heaven and earth, you are the merciful one." PEAK
And they say Underfell is edgy and violent.
Edit: Speaking of Underfell, would Negativefell be a little better or somehow far worse?
Dusttale (deviant art edition)
Better
2 negatives equal a positive
okay now negativetale sans is one of my fav sanses
Like the animation, I think you’re thinking about
It would be cool if trying to kill the enemies ended up surviving
That would be interesting how would that even work?
@@MikeJoe-jy5kp
Attacking the first froggit might make it run away out of fear because you didnt do enough damage to kill him, saving his life.
Beating asgore up ends up making his soul weak enough for you to retain control over your body, you and flowey leave the underground, seeing the sun rise like in ut's true pacifist ending.
nice to see every boss in negativetale feels like sans or undyne on genocide
Damn !! I haven't seen this AU since forever, I guess ?! Thanks for the nostalgia !
Negativetale: who needs determination when you have FASCISM.
I think determination is still better than fascism
@@MikeJoe-jy5kpyou sure?

"NO MORE OF YOUR PUNS SANS"
Throughout heaven and earth, You are the merciful one💀
Best go/Jo quote
39:30 bro really sneaked in a jjk reference 😭
Throughout Heaven and Earth I alone am the merciful one
Mettaton really went "stream your suicide in vc"
man, this au and the lore is just. chef's kiss
Actually in the epilogue its implied the remaining Monsters would Just slaughter each other until there's no One left alive and the underground will be left completely desert
me understanding french : HUGE WIN
this is actually a really solid video, finally someone mentioned this
I really like this and the fangame is interesting too
Ps: I’m French so I understood what the character were saying but I was focus the English translation that was kinda funny
this is a 10/10 au no more crying sans.
When you asked to think about a papyrus that lost hus kindness and inocense, i justo though on revenge papyrus
I find this au so interesting… sans is so cool in this au
I just want to say this as a criticism. You should consider typesetting a bit more, the big white text on clear backgrounds and on top of the white/clear effects makes it a bit less easy to read. Maybe using smaller fonts/text to the side when characters are speaking would help a bit, it'll still read fine in 720/1080p.
This is the 100000000th time i see an animation of sans killing papyrus
C'mon guys cant sans team with papyrus once.
Really?
That's not dusttale, man
well this AU is full of consequences of the monsters' wrongdoings. Like every boss fight ended with they killed themselves (including Papyrus "kills" himself for mistreating Sans).
negativetale is one of my favourites actually!
Im so mad frisk died at the end, had me punching air
HOW HAVE I NOT KNOWN ABOUT THIS VIDEO UNTIL 2 MONTHS LATER?
Negative sans is like that one father who leave with milk and starting gambling and steal money like a cowards
I remenber this au,Like Remenber seen the AU versions of Sans and Papyrus in those Sans and Papyrus AU Themes Videos
About time you get an outline on your text. I could barely read anything in alphys’ lab. Despite that, it’s still a great video. Your truly a *based guy*
Korean text. French dub. English captions. Nice.
At first, i thought negative tale was undertale but bandit sans. But the moment i saw the interaction between him and papyrus in snowdin (the first one)...
...Yikes.
39:21 .....Sigh.... You got me...
More KNOWLEDGE yeeeeess!!!!
WHERES THE DELTATR oh dang nevermind!
This truly was a negativetale
Fr tho this was really good👍
So out of all the Aus I feel the main cast such as Alphys, Asgore and Undybe don't get enough spotlight and that's a real shame.
This may not be in my top 5 but top 10 for me on favorite Aus.
damn i renember this one
Ok but flowey can just break the barrier with Frisks soul and the other 6, and then any future hunans can make it out so happy ending?
What about...
Negativetale Genocide though?
Man,if negativetale gets some kind of remaster or even better,A GAME,its going to be PEAK
@@Military_base01 I think there is a NegativeTale Genocide route, because I know a theme for Sans exist, but I don't know about anything else.
yeah that ending does feel like a non ending huh? maybe instead of a game over giving your soul up to make 7 reviving Assy to rule the underground into a more peaceful and prosperous future would have been more interesting then simply dying
I mean ur soul got turned into a monster soul in the ending so getting that soul would be useless
@@ahmetbulutguner1198 uhh no they "absorbed" asgore's soul intertwining them like assy and chara's were he fought to become the dominant personality in that body but that soul was techinically a human and boss monster soul making it more powerful then a single human soul not less
@@ahmetbulutguner1198 It didn't get turned into a monster soul, more like.. set under new management lol I'm pretty sure it became white just to indicate it being controlled.

My favorite au
