Y’all so this video was made to let people know about this neutral ending. And that Alphys isn’t just an annoying character. In this ending you can see her change into a better person. Which shows how much thought and time Toby fox has put into this game.
This growth is interesting and it’s nice to see a different, more reflective and somber side to her, but I still don’t care for her at all. I always felt like she is imposed on you while all the other characters you get to seek out further relationships with. After their areas, you can go back and continue to talk to them, like the date with papyrus. But with Alphs, you need to deal with her in order to get the end of the story and pacifist routes. On top of that, the ending where no one is upset about how she melted people’s families into monsters. To a certain extent, I get that the point of her character. A lonely person who sees someone interesting and latches on to them, misguidedly trying to impress them but fails to make a real connection until she can be honest and open up. But in the story she only creates problems and obstacles for you, as seen by how short the lava zone is without her. As a result, she comes off as the one person the game forces you to like/you need to grow in appreciation for when this comes naturally for everyone else.
@@berdinaction I mean, the experiments she helped with were certainly not the most moral of things. While she is timid due to her regrets, it's not a stretch to say it feels right to hear her be hateful. It's character growth in a different way than pacifist runs, she still comes to terms with her past and the player still helped with it. One just has her hating the player and most likely realizing that power to harm can help others rather than her just accepting her mistakes.
