As a Type 1 for 48 years, I laugh at all the people complaining because they have to scan. When I started you had to pee on a strip of paper. I was so thrilled when the glucometer came out. Now there are lots of choices. I use Libre2 and my HgbA1C is 5.9. It is what I can afford and I love it. Can't wait for Libre3 to come to the US.

great comparison of the two, the only thing the 2 offers is the alarms per your video. I think i will stay with the 14 day

With 14 days libre also you can get alarms. I'm also using 14 days sensor with Nightrider Blucon of Amrosia which gives me alarm with sugar values without scanning the sensor. There are many more features in Ambrosia's linkblucon app that makes the life easy. You can also allow 5 caregivers to follow your readings.

doctors also say the liver 2 is more sensitive and accurate than 14 day

Excellent video. I like Libre 14 days as I don't need to scan the sensor to get the readings after alarms with my Blucon Nightrider. Blucon gives me automatic readings and alarms without scanning it. It gives me extensive reports which helps my doctor to advise me accordingly.

Thankyou for this video. I am using Libre 14 day with Ambrosia Blucon to get readings and alerts on my phone every 5 minutes

In the uk we have the app with libre2, however, if you want the alarms on your phone you do not have the scanner as an option to use. If you choose to use the scanner for the alarms and start the sensor up with it, you can still scan with the phone.

Hello, Can anyone simplify the difference between the 2 and 14 day system. I am trying to understand it for my Mom so she can purchase. Thank you.

Hi and thank you for your video! Can you use the handheld meter in addition to your phone with the libre 2 at the same time??? I use the 14 sensors so I use my phone while I'm away from my house but at home my phone is on charger so I use the handheld meter

Nice video. Does Libre sensor allow sharing readings with multiple caregivers remotely?

I set my low alarm at 75. It allows me a chance to fix it before I hit hypoglycemic. It doesn't allow for you to send it to anyone else I don't think. I am technologically challenged, so I may be wrong.

@@saraheart2804 thanks for your reply dear. I found the device Blucon Nightrider which works well as I was looking for. Sharing with multiple caregivers are easy. Also, it gives me automatic readings and alarms without scanning the sensor.

the pharmacy gave me a libre 2 scanner/meter with 14 day sensors and the scanner says this sensor cannot be used with this reader. do you know if this is correct? and what app do you use on the phone with the 14 day sensors?

On Libra 2 what is the lowest you can set the alarms?

I tried Libre 2 with the thought i will give automatic alarms on the reader without scanning the sensor but it just give alarm that we are on HI/LO as per the target range. For me scanning is a tedious task so I requested my endo to write an another prescription for 14 DAYS as with AMBROSIA'S Nightrider I can get alarms with HI/LO values and readings every 5 minutes without scanning my sensor.

Thanks to my almighty god, I didn't buy it. I don't want to scan my sensor for alarms. Ambrosia's option is looking promising, readings and alarms without scanning the sensor. I'll also try nightrider blucon with my 14 Days sensor.

I like 14 days as Libre 2 just gives alerts still I have to scan the sensor to get the readings. I'm now getting all readings and alarms with values without scanning the sensor. That could be possible through Nightrider on top of my sensor.

so neither these 2 are CGM? u have to always manually scan?

    • @ladanah
      @ladanah 2 роки тому

Yes and no. There is a device called a miao miao that you can connect to your sensor to turn it into a CGM.

Libre 14 days are far better than Libre 2 sensors. I was always looking for alarms in libre sensor but libre 2 sensors requires scanning every time after alarms so what is the use of alarms. I'm using Blucon Nightrider on top of my Libre 14 Days sensor which gives me readings and alarms without scanning the sensor.

I just started using Libre 2 on 11/12/2021.
I synced sensor with my iPhone using the 2 FreeStyle app.
Comparing the readings with typical finger stick meter Libre 2 usually runs 20 points higher.
Yesterday I sit in sauna for 10 mins upon exiting I checked glucose and received notice Sensor temperature is to HIGH must wait for cool down.

Instructions state not accurate for first 12 hours approx. 🕰 so thats why they don’t always read right away.( scan later message).should be the same for 14 day and libre 2.
Good to know about the libre 2 because I use both phone app and reader.
I could use the alarms -I get lows and highs many times out of the blue.the sensors really help me manage overall.eating frequent small mini meals is best for me and a little protein with everything I possibly can.( even after or with and emergency glucose need)
I usually do a finger stick first day or when it seems off.sometimes with my lows I don’t get the warning either.I finally figured out the trend arrows meaning and that helps even more.gives a little time to prepare or warning to fix before something happens and I get very indecisive or even if it’s dropping rapidly a little confusion.
I will probably stick with the 14 day for now because I need the app.I do think the alarms would be helpful though because my lows can be pretty aggressive.
